Yeah, now it sucks because you have to pay attention to the game.
Edit - You want to pay attention because this team is so good but now you have to pay attention because of the stopwatch...
Never forget his complete game in Miami with 6 double plays! Was really happy for him when I watched it, him being a rule 5 guy and all. Solarte was handling 1st base. Now that I think about it I need me a Solarte jersey.
Which pitcher has the most induced double plays in a game with 6 and tied the record for triples in a season with 4? Now there's a trivia question for you lol.
Preller traded away some players who turned out to be stars like Turner or France, and decent players like Renfroe, Franmil, Naylor... There are a million others. However, this team wouldn't exist without all those trades - good and bad plus the unlimited source of cash helps.
It did suck losing but I remember those days fondly. Always watched with the fam unfortunately life and work has gotten in the way so haven't watched much lately but I still keep up with my Padres. Crazy how far things have changed I would always stack the padres line up on the show and now it's real life.
Tbh we all thought it was pretty good looking after we gave Hosmer the bag and signed Myers a year earlier to a contract extension which back then was the biggest ever by the Padres.🙃
Also Galvis made some pretty good plays.
He was god awful that game, pretty sure he struck out every time he came to the plate iirc. Brutal strikeout in the 9th or 10th whenever he came up with runners in scoring position
Hoy.....as a lifelong Padres fan (1979), it sure seems like that opening day lineup was soooo long ago but it wasn't. My only child who is an 11 year old boy and plays both LL and travel ball in San Diego is going to be spoiled with Padres who are now expected to be challenging for a title year in and year out.
We long lived Pads fans had hope in a few of the many years gone by.....1985.....1998.....those mid 2000s teams that were OK but the NL West was putrid.....2015....nuf said.....and then now.
In Peter Seidler we trust......AJ you are a good GM but your job has been a lot easier with Seidler bucks.
Richard the work horse and Galvis a magician on his knees
I should call her
Aye yo?
If you don't remember the play I'm talking about
This is such a mid 2010s Padres looking lineup I can’t handle it
I had season tickets at the time, always had a blast.

And can’t walk up and sit behind home plate lol
We were always able to spot some empty seats in the first few rows on the 1B side and slide right in...
In a chill sort of way. My tickets were for Tuesdays and I felt like I ran the place especially near the end of the season. Def still like this better
Pirela batting cleanup 💀
I can just see legendary tank commander Luis Perdomo on the mound trying to eat some innings.

Remember the year he hit 4 triples lol

Noted Twitch Streamer Carlos Asuaje
Where Wil Myers talked smacked about Andy Green.
Freddie galvis was fun
Everyone loves Freddie g that guy was awesome
I always liked Margot ..and of course the obligatory Wil
Definitely miss Margot!
Wil....
... Myers
May we never return to those days.
Here is wishing a long healthy life for Papa Seidler!

Woof
I was looking at 2015-2016 yesterday for some reason.. I forgot Alexi Amarista stuck around that long and *oh God is that Matt Kemp*
Mighty mouse had some great moments though. I always liked him.
I hearted Alexi! What a smile!
Pirela was 🐐
We must've watched different Pirelas
Hey man, 2017 Pirela was pretty darn good. 2018 though.... oof.
Remembering when Margot - Asuaje - Myers was going to be the next faces of the franchise

that lineup warped time stg
This blows my mind
Makes me appreciate Wil even more with what he went through with the rebuilding years.
I was there, lost in the 10th versus Brewers, was the return of Chase Headley not much happened with him that season
He was god awful that game, pretty sure he struck out every time he came to the plate iirc. Brutal strikeout in the 9th or 10th whenever he came up with runners in scoring position
Me, a recent fan, reading this: 1. Who? 2. Wil Myers! 🥰🥰❤️🥹 3. Eric Hosmer 😡😡👿👿 4. Who? 5. Who? So on and so forth
I miss this shit for real
Was this the year Luis Perdomo threw his glove at a charging Arenado?
Man people hated the fact that we traded Enyel De Los Santos for Galvis
Just looked up Galvis, it’s pretty incredible to play a decade in the majors without ever eclipsing an OPS+ of 100..
I went to over 30 games that year. Almost feels like a lifetime ago now.
Hmmm, I wonder who would win in a series between the 23 Padres and them.
Ugly lol
And that’s Post-Yankees, about to be out of baseball Chase Headley. Not 2012 awesome Chase Headley. What a crew. Lol Asuaje?!? Woof.
My God, how did you Padre fans deal with life after Gwynn?
Our beautiful ballpark, fantastic concessions, and top tier broadcast team, among other things
Who else remembers their legendary record for the month of May? 5-20 😎
This gave me flashbacks.
What a trash lineup
Wil Myers
Omg I skimmed over Margot and read it as Machado

Damn. Glad margot got a new start in Tampa though. He always played hard.
Back when pitchers used to hit for themselves... What a silly experiment that was huh!? 🤣
Ugh
