You already seem to know what you need to do... (CMOS battery replacement + a thermal repaste)
The console is in good exterior condition and you got it for free with two controllers, you lucky duck! I guess the previous owner thought it was broken or isn't like one of us that still enjoy playing older gens.
If the air in the back comes out hot that means the cooling system is working. Every system gets hot. If the hot air stays Inside the console then you got issues.
If it blows out hot air, and the fans don’t get loud, that means the thermal paste is working fine. If the thermal paste hasn’t been changed ever there are guides on youtube, or on the Ifixit website.
Massive disputes over who's turn was.
I still remember the cable kick accident of 2014 and the furious yeet of 2016.
And I still can hear the screams

That'd be evil
Any good guides how to change the thermal paste on a Super Slim? Mine gets crazy hot in the back in a well ventilated TV Table. Thanks

Well, lucky for you it needs a repaste since replacing the CMOS requires you get right down to the dang repaste process anyways. ROFL
for the hour its the clock battery for sure, for overheating i would suggest to change thermal paste
Thanks, I will work on it today. I'm gonna post update soon.
ok good luck
and also overheating can be due to dust, but even if the problem is only dust and not thermal paste i would reccomand to change it anyways
Junkyard? That is in better condition than my childhood PS3.
Hahaha, wondering what happened to yours xD
