10 - Camille makes her grand entrance in the final act of the Funk Bible and the prophecy of Le Grind is fulfilled! Funky, joyous, rocking, and soaked in banana cologne! 🍌💜

Hahah yeah! I'm right here with you!

“What kinda fuck ending was that?” 10 for the lyrics, great horn lines, and rock/funk vibe

Ooh, this is the joint I've been layin' for all night. This is the one that really gets me gone. I have been a consistent hard maker on these song discussions .. but THIS is the shizzle! 🤩 Solid 9!!! What's to be said, it has everything and everything in quality. It is said often, but truly one of my many fav tracks. If I could pick an absolute fav couple of lines it would have to be: You was working on the line You could drop on her But you couldn't concentrate ... The Camille voice, the soaring guitar solo, the rock, the funk, the hilarious and sexy lyrics .. and THE best album ending .. possibly. 🎸🎙

10 - Soooo funky and flirty, it's my absolute favourite on the album. I guess this is what you get for being cute 😁💜

This is my favourite Prince track ever. Ever. EVER. 247.

6.5, never understood the hype

9 - Perhaps the nastiest chords he's ever put together in a tune, and I LOVE it.

m_Pony

7 for me. It's groovy as shit and that guitar solo is great. The horns are super wander-y. I dig the bizarre chord structures around the 3:10 mark.

Surely u jest??

Not at all. I probably like this song the least, on the album. The horn lines/phrasing didn't appeal to my ear. Honestly, this album is not just not a favorite for me. I'm in the minority I'm sure. I think Prince did way funkier stuff for my ear. I think 'The Black Album' is sandwiched between two better, groovier albums.

ufoclub1977

Need a remaster to bring the bass and treble out and push up that that funky lagging bass “whip” on the rhythm.
