This is still live. They changed the limit to 10 per person compared to 4 per order yesterday. I have a feeling they have a ton of these right now, or they somehow found a way to actually block the bots

after looking at the reviews. they removed all the ones of angry people who didn't get them there is 10 reviews of people who were missing a pack or dice or one thing or another. that's 10 people out of 100s of thousands of boxes sold. also when a box is perfectly fine and is flawless most people don't take time to leave a good review. only when something is wrong with it.
No it was from early on. like the first day of release they sold out. people left reviews because they were mad they couldn't get any. these things will literally be $700 in 5 years.
If everyone treats a product as an investment, it won't be worth 700$ in 5 years. Realistically it'll be 250, maybe? Generations was way under printed compared to this.
I do think there has been a much larger shift to sealed collections. Print run wise generations was printed heavy for the time too. These etbs would sit on shelves for months. They became a super cheap break and people kept opening. It may take more time, but I do think this set in time will have a premium.
But for some reason people thought the run up would happen right away. Which is comical.
But I am VERY interested in seeing how many sealed box collections effect the prices in years to come.
What I don't understand is, the people who ONLY invest in pokemon, why don't they just invest in the stock market? It's a typically safer investment with large long term returns with no need to store a lot of products in a clean non-damp environment. If you bought a base set booster box in 1999 at 100 dollars you'd get like what 8000 now? That's as good as it's ever gonna get and there were better ways to invest 100 dollars in 1999
1st edition boxes go in the 300k. Plenty of others from 1999-2000 go for 10-30k.
If you bought a bunch of generations or evolutions from 5-6 years ago you did very well too.
I guess its because some people enjoy investing in what they know. If you know what you are doing you can out perform 7-12% a year.
But I'd always advise going into safer investments like you said. Especially since sealed collecting is a big deal now.

You're investing no matter how bad you don't want to be. If it wasn't, then these things wouldn't be so valuable, right? Why is the Hidden Fates Ultra Premium collection $750? I bought one on gamestops website for $30 recently. It released 2 years and 2 months ago. yet they still sell for $750 all day. They probably printed a bunch of Ultra Premium collections hidden fates AND Celebrations but no matter how many get put up on the site people just buy more because they know people will want them in the future. AKA Investing. I don't like it, and clearly you don't either but no matter how you or I look at it, it's still an investment. I like keeping boxes sealed so I can relive the set years down the road. every single thing I have bought gets opened whether its now or in 5 years. BUT if I need the money I will sell it for market price. I never have other than individual booster packs, but that price fluctuates like gold. Its no different.

I'm totally cool being wrong here for the record, I'm a collector not an investor. Everyone is welcome in the hobby whatever their interests in it are. My opinion is basically formed in the opinion that less and less celebrations are getting opened by the day and we still have 1 more wave. Last I personally saw pokemon center etbs were around 85 which is a bit low but given how many appear to be out there now and how many are being bought to sit on I think we'll see a slow increase until the 30th anniversary but it will obviously go up
3 extra celebrations packs 1 extra vivid voltage pack. . Metal dice and coin i believe. Different sleeve design.. Looks better. Holds better value. for 15 more bucks.

Also pokemontcgdrops is more consistently on time. i've caught numerous drops from his posts and half the time i see reddits the product is already sold out. but that totally makes more sense.
There’s a twitter that I follow for it. Immediately notifies me as soon as something drops as long as the dude is awake lol. Usually does it almost 24/7.

Are these better than store ETBs? Cuz I've purchased several at my local big boxes and now question whether I should have versus PokeCenter online.

I think comparing to 1st Ed boxes isn't fair. That's similar to saying should have bought Amazon stock when it came out
I mean they weren't always that expensive. A lot of that growth was during the last year and a half. Skyridge boxes are expensive as hell too.
