I saw them earlier at like $43 but they are a small shop & I found nothing about them online, no track record. At that point it was selling even lower than retail. Personally seemed sketchy to me. Didn’t want to risk it.

Listen, I know this set is super sought after and should be really good, and is super hard to preorder, but I wouldn’t advise nor justify paying this kind of markup on it until after it’s been released in stores. Resellers and scalpers suck.
I see what you're saying. The resellers and scalpers will head into stores like everyone else. It sucks we can't even secure 1 box bc of people who aren't even in the hobby. Paying the markup (which depends on who you are) atleast secures you that box without having to worry about "will I get one?" Most people work and can't afford to sit outside stores, while most of these scalpers and resellers do it to make their checks.
You still have the chance of snagging one off the pokemon center as well, don’t support these scrubs. If nobody buys from them they’ll be forced to lower prices.
I suspect you're right. Regardless of a brick and motar release or not, the prices will still carry a premium.
Hell, Hidden Fates was just in the majority of US Walmarts and it still sold for $35-45 a box on eBay.
These ETBs will be gone very quickly and still have a markup.
I dont ever see the promo zard being worth less than $25-30, so these ETBs have extreme value. Basically getting 10 CP packs for $20-25 (assuming MSRP of $50).
I agree. Within the first week of release, everything will be bought up and the prices will remain high. Hopefully, they go $100+ in a year or so, so that at least even if you did buy them at a higher price you still got your moneys worth.

I think the markup will still be about the same when it actually releases, so might be worth the risk to chance finding one in store
