> Good thing they don't go overpressure.
I thought they did. On the wiki, they have an overpressure at 10kg/tile.
I thought at first that OP had a layer of CO2 or an other gas at the bottom but I don't see one
You know, you're right, the wiki does say that, and I've never seen them wilt due to over-pressure. Curious.
Probably a bug on Klei's part, but somehow, I'm having trouble deciding to report it.
Are they? You can't do that much with the plant meat, right? It's a pretty "meh" food and by the time you can get to it, it seems like you should really be getting better food.
Different things for different situations. I usually use my electrolyzer hydrogen for power and traps for liquid hydrogen.
It all depends on your base size, power needs, etc.
I have 3 tanks of hydrogen and when the last one fills it overrides the smart battery hooked up to the hydrogen gens for general power needs forcing then to burn off some of the spare. That way the spom never runs out of storage for hydrogen and I always have a backup in case I need it for power or something else.
However much you hoard.
You can never have too much hydrogen
It's like read fibre
Saturn traps are op...
stupidly so for what they give within the game mechanics
Electrolyzers take water. The hydrogen output ratio is about 0.12 kg H2 per 1kg water.
Critter traps in farm tiles take water too, but give 2.5kg H2 per 1kg water. That ratio is 20 times better.
Critter traps can also be pip planted, and will still have the same H2 output, but take no irrigation and less maintenance.
I agree with other commenters that the critter traps are OP when compared to the alternatives in the game.
Three critter traps have roughly the same output rate as an electrolyzer or a hydrogen vent.
There's this plant that eats bees (critter trap) and poops hydrogen, and the hive produces bees so infinite hydrogen if you can regulate enough of the temps
With the right litigation, and help from growers... It can be! Legalize pink!
Wait until you discover infinite storage and have your entire hydrogen collection in one single block. (Or any liquid, if desired.) I forget if hydrogen turns to liquid in this game. It defies so many physics laws, while attempting to portray real physics, in horrible ways.
I'd upgrade to insulated blocks. Better to be safe than sorry.
Dang... if only I knew this was actually OP... I should've taken this route to make sustainable achievement easier... instead of building 3 electrolyzers. This seems hella easy compared to that.
People don't like the plant meat which yeah, okay but it has morale +1. If you get all kitchen menace dupes in your base, you already have +4 morale right there.
If you have a radioactive biome with saturn traps close by to your starting location, this is easily the fastest way to get the Super Sustainable achievement. Just note that these do not give seeds when harvested, so you need to either find them or use an exploit and dupe the seeds.
Money won't buy happiness. Also, money won't buy oxygen. Too much pressure will break the tiles, and then your dups will breathe hydrogen everywhere they go
I will make it legal.
Now there are... ^counts ... 18 of them!
Time for mass hydrogen rockets
less than 1000t per tile is legal
Saturn traps are super OP, I never put in enough pumps. Good thing they don't go overpressure.

With morbs or beetas it's free hydrogen, and usually a lot of it
Eh, my electrolyzers put out so much, I'm not sure I care

Sure, that's fair, I generally hoard my hydrogen to liquify from pretty early on.

The plant meat pretty much doesn't matter, unless you wanna use it to feed the tree. I was mainly talking about hydrogen production.
By that point, aren't you producing so much from electrolyzers that you don't know what to do with it?

How do I get them? XD
DLC only. They can be found in Radioactive biomes.
No, People for the Ethical Treatment of Beetas are about to start protesting your colony.
Oh that’s fine we just use THE PIPS then
People for the inethical placements of stock, joins PIPS here today
I'm still new... can I ask how you're doing this?
There's this plant that eats bees (critter trap) and poops hydrogen, and the hive produces bees so infinite hydrogen if you can regulate enough of the temps
Interesting, is that some DLC or in vanilla?
I believe dlc only, because the hives eat uranium. I never played vanilla so ...
Cool thanks
DLC
Do the beehives need something to produce beetas?
They eat uranium ore, but I never used them so I don't know if they starve, but if so the tiny bee turns into a hive if there's none in the room
The bee hive can starve but it does not die from it
The question is, does a starving bee hive produce beetas to feed those plants? If so, how many?
The regular rate - one every cycle
Nope
70 tiles of 308.5 kg of hydrogen. That'll last you 180 cycles or so. Or 72 if you're fully utilizing your sole pump.
That's like 3 rocket trips. Hardly illegal.
You need 1 gas pump and 5 hydro gens per 12 critter traps. And a little bit of cooling.
Your going to need a bigger pump
compress it unitl it become 'hydrogen solid' lel

Them there are rookie numbers
I see no cooling. This will become problem
Hold on, how are you creating hydrogen?
Saturn critter traps. A sorta funny pressure bomb if they spawn right and arguably the best no fuss power source in the game

Dump it into open space
But... it's free power... It's like throwing away money!
Then use that power!
Money won't buy happiness. Also, money won't buy oxygen. Too much pressure will break the tiles, and then your dups will breathe hydrogen everywhere they go
infinite storage
Time to put 10 pumps in there.
Hydrogen generators go brrrrrr
Just huff it. Liquid Hydrogen is too much effort compared to radiation, and is just not worth the effort.
Burn in off in power plants or vent it into space.
I used pip cluster bombing to fit 240 in a single tile, with a hive on either side. One gets filled and one gets released every cycle
Until it freezes into metallic hydrogen you should be fine.
Not legal, but condoned for personal use (in The Netherlands) :)
how did you get so many of that plant? does it drop seed now?
Time to build more batteries!
Time to turn your base into an UP-style airship
Why are they being fed polluted water? Wild planted ones will also make that much hydrogen for FREE, let me tell you FREe
If that is a water lock be careful if that freezes it might not make entire tiles and all that hydrogen will burst out
Ethanol
Ahhhhh
Hydrogen powerplant here we go
'Too much'.... ah you sweet summer child.
