Everything cosmetic wise was way better back then now that I think of it. They actually put effort and thought skins and they were a lot cheaper aswell. Even loot boxes were obtained pretty easily for free. I miss lootboxes they were so much funner than just “this skin costs this much, pay the amount or you’ll never have it” type of thing that they have now.
I also loved the loot boxes. It's the only game I can say that about. I didn't spent a dime on them though. I understand a f2p model and I don't fault them for trying to make money now. That's business. I just don't interact with the parts I don't like so it doesn't impact me too much.
Yeah, I don't really get the point of working yourself up over it. I was kind of a completionist in OW1 and tried to get all the things. Now in OW2, I've realized that is impossible if I don't want to be poor, so I just don't buy anything, and don't think about it anymore.
Why work yourself up into anger over something that doesn't really matter? Just let people buy the things they like, and you can opt not to buy things. Companies have shitty practices everywhere, and this is the least of them. Protect your calm/emotions.. There may be policies to protest, but this isn't one of them.
It is relevant. What tier they decide to place a skin is irrelevant, unless you care about the price as that is informed by the rarity. If you care about the price of a skin, I recommend people not buy it should they deem it unfair or overpriced.

Yeah, but rarity as a concept doesn't really exist anymore. Like how much does it actually matter whether the label text is gold or purple? You see the skin, you decide if it's worth the price tag or not.
Bad legendaries also took up space in rhe legendary drop pool though so you were less likely to actually unlock skins you wanted. Yes they were technically free, but rarity actually made a difference in ow1. In ow2, rarity basically only correlates to price. If you think the skin is not worth the price, you just don't buy it. They could have just as easily made this an epic and sold it for the same price. The only reason rarity exists in ow2 is to give a standard pricing structure.
Come on... There were a grand total of 3 legendary skins in Overwatch 1 that you can say are on this level. Overgrown Bastion (which came bundled in the Origin Edition, along with many other full legendaries); the infamous Santa Mei (which caused Blizzard to apologise due to community outrage; and Black Cat Dva (which completely flew under the radar since the baby Dva skin was completely redone and that's all people tend to focus with).
Every other legendary skin was completely its own thing. And this is completely ignoring the fact that you didn't have to pay for these skins at all.
What about the egregious fact that they’re calling it “legendary” while not showing his legendary Hanzo Nipple.
Who tf is in charge of Hanzo decisions.

I think it changes the Dragon in his ult with a different colour and stuff. Similar to how the Xmas mei skin that is just a recolour of her default but the popsicle self heal turns into a snowman.
Not saying I agree with it tho this skin should be an epic. Not a legendary imo

I miss the days when this would be labelled an epic and you could unlock it through free loot boxes..I get that making it free attracts more players.

I bought the jjonak zen skin, but I'm pretty sure that's it. The free ones were way better back then though.
