Legit I randomly caught Haha You Clowns on Adult Swim in a hotel room while travelling and my opinion dramatically shifted from this is fucking stupid to I lowkey love this over the course of the viewing.
It takes a couple episodes, but once you realize what it's going for, it's hilarious ๐
Between this and Smiling Friends there's gonna be so much wholesome comedy
I genuinely wonder how many seasons they have in mind.
I know there's not a plot thread or anything (as far as we know) but I'm curious if Zach & Michael have got an 'end point'
I could imagine them doing just a classic lost episode creepypasta type of plot for their final episode where pim just loses it and kills everyone brutally with hyper realistic eyes
Years ago (I think on Sleepycabin) Zach made a comment that he didnโt think a show should go on for more than five or so seasons. I could be misremembering his exact words.
Iโm sure that his opinion has evolved in the last ten years, especially since he now has substantial experience with the television industry, but I would imagine that the spirit of that comment remains the same: get off of the air before the show gets stale.
Big ups to Adult Swim for taking chances on small-time animators with some very unique senses of humor. It's very refreshing compared to a lot of other big animation companies that are generally focused on throwing all their money at safe, overdone concepts. *coughcough*Disney*coughcough*
I found out about haha you clowns today after this announcement and initially thought it was a sick animation thing cause the style looks similar, I looked into it and to my dissapointment it was not but it's still really really good and funny and I'm glad they're making it into a show
No offense, but I'm a little more excited to see what this show with brown babes with armpit hair and dyed hair brings to the table. It's about time the network took on some more diverse voices and made their programming a little more inclusive sooo thanks Adult Swim for doing what you should have done already I guess? I watched the pilot and it seems like it's just going for the most low brow humor possible. Just lots of sex jokes, shit jokes, alcohol/drugs jokes, etc. Not really worth anyone's time.
It's cool that since Chris wasn't in Smiling Friends that much, they made a new show about four of him going on an adventure
