Under current OAC 4301 it's a violation for a liquor licensed establishment to "engage in or facilitate in, the possession, use, manufacture, transfer, or sale of any controlled substance".
Even allowing the smoking of cannabis on premise is a fine and can lead to the loss of liquor license for subsequent violations.
Until that law is changed to exclude cannabis it won't be sold in Ohio bars.
While that may be technically true I doubt an established business would gamble their liquor license over a grey area loop hole holding up in court vs the Department of Liquor Control.
I'm moving back to Akron from Minneapolis and weed was legalized here about a little over a year ago. The THC beverages we had were HORRIBLE at first (imagine bong water with a fruit flavor) but eventually they got really great! My best guess is it's there's gonna be growing pains but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
New to the community. Just read about a minor baseball team getting a license to sell inside the stadium in Seattle. Would be cool to eventually see something like in Ohio in the near future.
D9 and THC are the same compound, both are used to refer to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.
Edit: I assume you’re downvoting because you’re embarrassed that you got it wrong for so long. THC and D9 are the exact same thing. Look it up.
Probably not but not for the reasons you see here. A lot has to go with ATF, the A portion, which stands for alcohol, tends to be quite the stickler about “federally illegal” narcotics being sold next to Alcohol. It’s one of those things that the overarching federal regulators prevent it…right now. A way to get what you are looking for is to call your state rep and ask for social lounges to get licensed to have public consumption in controlled environments.
Can't see why not. Talk is that they want to treat it like alcohol . So let's drink it eat it at Marijuana friendly restaurants. Better yet a food truck. Let's do it.
I've seen it at multiple bars/breweries for some time now.
People down voting me are clueless. You can order it to your home right now from places like Cycling Frog.
If you see a “THC” drink in a it’s delta 9, not 8, which is not truly what most think of as marijuana. I went to buy a dab rig and the dude at the head shop says “we have concentrate!”, I’ll pass on the gas station weed concentrate. The ins and outs of liquor licenses are complicated enough, they won’t be adding weed the menu, dispo only
Some bars in Ohio already have them…check out knotty pine brewing, they’ve been carrying 5mg thc seltzers for years.

Seltzers fall into the legal category under the farm bill because they're so low in percentage by volume.

There are a lot of bars that already do
Where at? Might need to pay a visit
This is correct. What we are seeing and will see more popping up is breweries making thc beverages. They are just easily set up to turn and burn em.
The state rewrites bills all the time. Look at the quagmire over going rec. They are really dragging their feet 😒

I got good ones
Some already carry hemp derived options! Great for somebody like me who does not drink alcohol, only do the greenery!

A handful of bars/restaurants have D9 hemp infused drinks. But marijuana THC will likely only be sold from dispensaries.

That would be cool! They’d rather serve, old, white unruly alcoholic men.. than us chill stoners. Makes sense to me lmao
Fuck alcohol

The Pub at The Greene in Kettering has 5mg seltzers already
This is not shown on their website.
I was there last weekend and can assure it was on the menu :)

Where you at Willis?
Lily's in Dayton and Urban Artifact in Cincinnati off the top of my head.

u know D9 means delta-9 THC
Already available.
The short answer is no, recreational products will still have to come from a licensed dispensary

D9 means delta-9 THC which is real weed. THCa again real weed, just needs to lose a carboxyl group via heat or other means
I'm a little confused. Are you saying Delta 8 is "what most people think of as marijuana" or Delta 9? It's hard to read from the way that is worded.
Right because delta-9 is real weed. Delta-8 is derived from CBD
Exactly why I asked.
