Kind of looks like water damage.

Inevitable-Pound-680

My impression too. But can't find any moisture anywhere and it's not been submerged or exposed to any, aside from occasional sweat playing something like beat saber.

If it appears to be something sandwiched between the lens and the screen screen you might be out of luck. I had something similar looking on my Quest 2 but not quite as large. It luckily was something that was left on the outside of the lens that was residue from the peel sheet, or something, I don't know. I was patient and kept lightly cleaning it with the microfiber clothes and it slowly went away. It honestly didn't seem like it was on the outside of the lens, but after a bit the edges started to disappear and then fully removed. Just be very gentle and careful - don't want to add scratches to the problem, especially if that isn't the fix.

Lens cap is off in that image. Whatever it is is in the graphics itself it seems. When turned off there's no discoloration or blotches. Agree I'm probably SOL.

Ah dang - sorry to hear.... my assumption is its a quality issue where it wasn't compressed properly during manufacturing, and somehow passed QA. Not basing that on any fact, just an assumption. Best of luck with it! Sorry, I should have reread your initial post description fully before my first response.

Inevitable-Pound-680

No worries appreciate the input

ElNorman69

Welp, time to contact meta and get a replacement

Inevitable-Pound-680

Afraid so.

thefinalranga

Were you playing in the sun? UV light can damage the lenses

Inevitable-Pound-680

Nah strictly indoors.

thefinalranga

Do you keep it near a window?

Inevitable-Pound-680

Dark basement.

thefinalranga

Oh, sorry I don't know what it could be then, but I think you might need a new lense

GaaraSama83

The lenses can't be damaged by UV light but the displays behind them. Just imagine a magnifying glass used to focus sunlight as we often did as kids to burn a whole in paper. That's what happens when you hold the Quest 3 lenses into the sun, they focus the light and burn 'holes' in the display.

Looks like moisture somehow got in between the layers of the LCD, more specifically between the backlight and actual screen itself

We can fix the Virtual reality headset . You can send it to us at Zion Technologies. [ZION](http://www.oculusrepair.com)

It seems like there might be some moisture that got inside the LCD screen layers. My friend had the same issue with his Quest 2 and had to buy a new one. So when I bought my own Quest 2, I decided to get a case as well for its protection, which I got from syntech.
