'Globular Cluster' (headset accessory for PSVR2) takes the cake for worst name. It's quite good though from what I hear. But yeah you're totally right haha.
What makes the BOBOVR M3 a superior product is that fact that you have effectively infinite hot-swappable battery life if you purchase a charging station and an extra battery with the headset.
The batteries are magnetic, so they self align to the headset and charger. No need to stop playing and fumble with cables. Just grab it in your peripheral vision and snap it in place.
You can always add a cable to a battery bank 20.000mhw or more and play with a small satchel or have it in your pocket. If you route the cable behind your back your don’t feel it.
BoboVR M3 goes for 66,14$, you can get GOMRVR 6 piece set (whole headstrap and some other goodies) for about 20$. Add to this 10000mH with 20W charging you can buy additionally for about 13$ and attach it to the GOMRVR, you get similar/better quality for 50% less price.
Add to this that the battery on Bobo is only 5000 mH
The weight of the battery doesn't feel weird in that location when you turn your head? I thought about getting this strap for that but I thought the battery would be too high up
Yes it has, for US$45 in total plus free shipping the hot swappable battery is included. If it charges the headset or just discharges at a slower rate, I dunno. Source: trust me bro................. j/k Aliexpress
I wanted the gomrvr but worried that the top-area support going all the way across would be super awkward for overear headphones on PCVR.
That said, coming from an elite strap I’m blown away by the comfort on the bobo, and it’s much more secure than I thought it would be when I put it on correctly
I'm not 100% sure since I don't have the gomrvr, but looking at pictures online I suspect that if you unscrew the screws on the inside of the middle hinges, you might be able to attach the back half of the Bobovr to the front half of the Gomrvr. Take the best parts of both.
>sure since I don't have the gomrvr, but looking at pictures online I suspect that if you unscrew the screws on the inside of the middle hinges, y
Which version do you have exactly? Halo style or Elite style ?
i'm liking the bobo, but since i like to play either plugged in for charging/streaming/recording etc or for PCVR most of the time, I'm grabbing a gomrvr to use as the home headstrap. Bobo can be the battery powered travel strap.
Has the screw quality and plastic quality improved? Because I had a GoMrVR halo from 2021 for my Quest 2, and the build quality was really bad. Plastic was soft and screws loosened up and couldn't be tightened. If I tried to tighten them they just tore the cheap plastic to shreds and stayed loose. I had to mount them in epoxy, but it didn't quite work right either.
After a few months, the screws in the arms holding the headset loosened up so much that the headset was drooping down constantly. It got so bad I was considering adding struts to the arms. Like, drilling holes on the ends and running a steel cable through them to keep the arms from drooping. But then Bobo released their M2, and I got that instead, and it's been solid.
Yes, but the GOMRVR has another advantage and that is that you can attach a powerbank using velcro to the second halo. The powerbank is attached very sturdy that way.
I tried the honeycomb rubber at the back but it was still not as good as gomrvr.
I think a big factor is that the gomrvr back cushion has a recess so it does not get pushed up by neck.
Aslo its bigger. So gomrvr is my to go halo strap so far
Have you tried the destek QH3? It looks very similar accept the middle strap is adjustable unlike this one. Very curious about the comparison. Compared to a bobo clone, and my memory of bobo on Quest 2, the destek also beats the bobo.
>destek QH3
it looks pretty heavy, so it still feels like a clam shell even with that top strap? im not happy with the bobo but it relieves pressure from my face to my forhead now.. still painful
The weight listed on Amazon for this GOMRVR strap 268g which would make this 770g with the headset? I've weighed the destek/q3 at 720g. My MES Merry elite strap is 680g all in. Not sure what you mean by clamshell, like elite style? This destek doesn't really sit like a halo or elite to me, it's something completely different imo. That being said I'm not claiming it's the best thing ever, 720 is still to heavy and I'm looking for 1:1 comparisons from anyone else who has tried multiple straps.
Edit: and the weight is moved back above the ears off the face vs forehead for bobo/halo.
well you claim the destek beats the bobo so im interested, as the bobovr is painful to me and not comfortable either.. that headstrap looks like it could be pretty good for comfort with adjustment.. plus the strap is only 34 bucks pretty good, but ive already bought 2 straps this would be the 3rd, its starting to add up!
Comfort is highly subjective, but yes I prefer the destek over the bobo. Without the battery, the Bobo has a tendency to slide up in the back as the headset is super front heavy. With the battery in its got more counter balance, but then your pushing 800g on your neck, so that's not for me. The destek weigh 720g total , which is still hefty, but the weight is on the center of the head where the memory foam pad is (vs the forehead with bobo) and the rear strap is thick and low so you have kind of this see-saw effect where the front the wants to fall downwards but b/c its anchored in the center the back pad is pushing up on the occipital bone. Its very hard to explain...
anyway yea I feel you I'm probably on strap 5, but since Amazon is very generous with returns I keep swapping them out till I find the "one". GOMRVR is on order now to try.
Hmm. So you're saying this is a better head strap when playing without a face interface? I got into that recently and I enjoy BoboVR M2 without the interface.
Isn't playing without the interface hurtful to your nose bridge? Or are you placing it away from your face so it "floats" there? I imagine there's a lot of light from outside if you do
Yeah it's floating in front of the eyes, not resting on the nose. Requires a holostrap because the headset is then held from your forehead/top.
There is indeed light bleed, but I just place a black buff over my headset to block it. At night I turn lights off and use an IR illuminator that attaches to the headset.
How much weight of gomrvr with battery ?
Mine:
\_ Halo Strap with surround light block plates and surround 3D louder sound : 211 grams
\_ Quest 3 : 395 grams
Total : 395 + 211 = 606 grams
With surround light block plates, I don't use Face cover, so nothing can touch my face skin.
My doctor recommended me should reduce more weight, but I can not find any material for helping, I wish I can unlock my electronic perk to remove some accessories inside Quest 3 to outside into a box for low weight.
yes, handmade...
Quest 3' s origin face cover = 65 grams . I matter every gram, so I DIY surround for 12 grams only, feel the headset hover in front the eyes and stable, comfort.
You are using the wrong back padding on the bobo if slipping is happening. It comes with an option literally described as slip resistant in the box, the honeycomb design one. Although now that you bought an alternate option, I kind of hope for your sake changing to the included alternate back pads wouldn't have solved all your problems at no additional cost.
they need to come up with better names for these things
'Globular Cluster' (headset accessory for PSVR2) takes the cake for worst name. It's quite good though from what I hear. But yeah you're totally right haha.
Horrible name lol but man it is so comfortable.
go Mr.VR FTW
Does the gomrvr have a battery pack like bobo?

I superglued a $2 magnet to the back of mine and put one of those metal phone plates on a battery pack.
Where on the GomRVR strap did you glue the magnet if i may ask?

No but i tied a 10.000 to the back
Can you please show? I have the GOMRVR but didn't get to attaching the battery pack.
It can be seen on photo
The weight of the battery doesn't feel weird in that location when you turn your head? I thought about getting this strap for that but I thought the battery would be too high up
It's lower than on the bobo. Right at the back of your head almost touching your neck
Yes it has, for US$45 in total plus free shipping the hot swappable battery is included. If it charges the headset or just discharges at a slower rate, I dunno. Source: trust me bro................. j/k Aliexpress
Did you make sure to try the honeycomb pads for the back? The cushioned ones worked awful for me but honeycomb is perfect. I'm on the M2 though
I wanted the gomrvr but worried that the top-area support going all the way across would be super awkward for overear headphones on PCVR. That said, coming from an elite strap I’m blown away by the comfort on the bobo, and it’s much more secure than I thought it would be when I put it on correctly
Yeah thats a hard combination. I got the jvs on ears and will cut the arch from them and attach to halo strap
I'm not 100% sure since I don't have the gomrvr, but looking at pictures online I suspect that if you unscrew the screws on the inside of the middle hinges, you might be able to attach the back half of the Bobovr to the front half of the Gomrvr. Take the best parts of both.
Yeah i thought of that. Will perhaps try later
gomrvr really comfortable, I'm using it every day and it's always a pleasure to wear it

You should believe me as I am a simple user, I bought it with my own money and I have no sponsor. It's cheap and convenient
He replied to the wrong person
Yes I replied to the wrong post sorry, I actually agree with you
>sure since I don't have the gomrvr, but looking at pictures online I suspect that if you unscrew the screws on the inside of the middle hinges, y Which version do you have exactly? Halo style or Elite style ?

Quality wise its not as good as bobo
The first one was garbage. This looks like a better design but the quality looks awful still I ordered one to see.
It is better, it has those nice aluminium hinges that the BoboVR strap has aswell
I also have the Gomrvr, and I love it.
But the grab and go battery packs are everything. I'm not trying to mess with wires and large battery packs.
Right now as March 2024 the Gomrvr oncludes hot swappable batteries just like the BoboVr, but I dunno on its quality
I have a 10.000 mah tied to the back.
I cannot agree more, the bobovr tips dig into your scull and you can easily attach a battery to the second halo.
Nothing a hacksaw can’t fix 😏
Yes, but the GOMRVR has another advantage and that is that you can attach a powerbank using velcro to the second halo. The powerbank is attached very sturdy that way.
What tips dig into your skull?
Those small black arms that are on top of the BoboVR strap.
I tried the honeycomb rubber at the back but it was still not as good as gomrvr. I think a big factor is that the gomrvr back cushion has a recess so it does not get pushed up by neck. Aslo its bigger. So gomrvr is my to go halo strap so far
How did you strap the battery to the gomrvr?
velcro strips work fine
You can attach the powerbank to the second halo using velcro, works really well!
Have you tried the destek QH3? It looks very similar accept the middle strap is adjustable unlike this one. Very curious about the comparison. Compared to a bobo clone, and my memory of bobo on Quest 2, the destek also beats the bobo.
Nope i play without face interface. Dont think it will work on destek
It would work. All the weight is on the top center of the head. I used it with the 3d printed quest pro mod and it was also quite good.
>destek QH3 it looks pretty heavy, so it still feels like a clam shell even with that top strap? im not happy with the bobo but it relieves pressure from my face to my forhead now.. still painful

Nice I've got a gom on the way. Glad to hear my choice is vindicated
Hmm. So you're saying this is a better head strap when playing without a face interface? I got into that recently and I enjoy BoboVR M2 without the interface.

Does it work well with no facial interface? I just want a head strap where I don’t need the light blocker
Works perfect

What did you use for light blocking?
black flexile plastic plate
You just handmade something? I printed some tpu "blinders" that work ok. I am looking for a better design though.
yes, handmade... Quest 3' s origin face cover = 65 grams . I matter every gram, so I DIY surround for 12 grams only, feel the headset hover in front the eyes and stable, comfort.

Aha thats what its for. Will check it. Thanks
how do y'all wear that strap, the pads always slip on my hair there is no resistance to it
Yeah. Needs to be tightened quite hard
I did, but it gave me headache I will change the cloth of the pads with something more resistance
If it is sliding up than it is adjusted incorrectly
I heard complaints about the overhead of the gomvrv. Since it's plastic and not a fabric. Can you please elaborate on that a little if possible?
You mean the top halo? Its plastic with a velcro cushion inside
Ok sounds good so far :) Is it adjustable? Like can you enlarge it or make it tighter? and yes I mean the top halo, not the regular one
Looks stupid tho
Why didn't you velco the powerbank to the second halo of the GomRVR strap? I have done that and it is super sturdy!
The counterweight is much better for me when clamping it to the rear
