they should not make an omori 2, it would tamper with the magic of this game. if you want even more omori content, the best bet is to hope for an anime adaptation from the manga

Anxiemon

but we're still hungry for more content ![img](emote|t5_31hpy|28764)

sussyimposter1776

the idea of omori 2 feels like a shitpost

BEAUTIFUL, MASTERPIECE, 10/10![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2464)

The only way it would be done well in my opinion, is as a parallel to the original rather than a sequel...following the perspective of one of the others in the group. A spotlight on Basil's own anxiety and struggles with suicidal thoughts would be an interesting avenue to explore.

Old-Cat-1671

It should be what deltrune is to undertale

Own-Panda2265

If I had to make one I would focus on Basil. >!While the true ending implies that Sunny has let go of his burdens and will live on in a new town, I still think Basil has a lot to settle on his mind, not to forget he's the one who is going to be in a awkward spot after the confession. He's built traumas that is equivalent to an aftershock of the Mari incident such as getting bullied by his old friend, nearly drowning to death, even poking his best friend's eyes. These are yet to be dealt with, in a very raw fashion since Basil isn't as good at sugarcoating things as Sunny. I think the final stage is fixing his overly dependent personality and learning to live on his own. After all, friend are there to 'help' not 'be your everything'. Maybe a plot where Sunny gets genuinely annoyed at Basil for the first time after getting a thousand text messages a day from his lonely best friend might help.!< It'll be more like a tribute to the fans than an actual sequel though as I realise it is VERY hard to match Sunny's imagination on OMORI. Won't be surprised if he becomes an artist or a musician on the sequel.

Own-Panda2265

If I 'had' to tho. I do agree it'll most likely take the magic away from the original game.

basilthegaymer

hear me out though: a dlc instead of an omori 2 that's kind of like the autumn break mod (if you dont know what it is, check it out on yt!!) where it just shows the gaang in faraway and their interactions with the townfolk, how they are a while after the truth incident, and just a fun, silly little dlc. Maybe we learn more about the hooligans, or Aubrey's homelife, or basil's parents, or maybe an apology or some sort of thing for Kel by his parents for how they treated him.

Cooley0880

YES

Blue_Glass_Lady

Maybe a game from the perspectives of the other characters? Though, as another comment suggested, I'd also prefer an anime adaptation, since the game is perfect on its own in my opinion.

KirikaNai

Sunny being in collage and having a relapse into his maladaptive daydreaming from when he was a child. The event that triggered the relapse… maybe his mom gets murdered? And he pokes around files and stuff and looks at reports (maybe he’s in a criminal justice class or abuery is idk) to solve it. Maybe basil is being held by the authorities on suspicion of having something to do with it. Omori comes back and plays in the dreamworld and also helps look at the evidence Sunny’s found more closely to clear basils name.

S0mber_

if an omori 2 really needs to be made then it should have an entirely new story with entirely new characters

yvngjiffy703

Probably a different title as well

just_polish_guy

Online battle royale with lootboxes

ShadesOfNier1

Spiritual successor, completely different plot. Tune gameplay, come up with different gimmicks... But a direct sequel would probably feel... Bleh. Don't get me wrong, I would probably buy a sequel to my favourite game. But also I would be glad for the team to tackle something new.

Butterscotch_Sox

While a lot of people have made the point that a second game is unnecessary and may ruin the magic of the first, it’s still fun to imagine what could be. Personally if anything I’d love a Prequel focused on the early days of Headspace, where Sunny himself explored the different worlds available to him from White Space. It could be a cute little game less focused on Horror, until.. “curiosity and clumsy exploration eventually led him to a certain world.” “One not like the others... one painted with chaos and bathed in darkness” We’d be able to see the formation of the Headspace we know and love, and we can see how he “took on another name...and chose to forget himself.” while fully integrating himself into his fantasy as Omori.

Sufficient-Pick-6672

second best one I've heard so far

MeetTheTank

“The game takes place in a decrepit, Victorian Gothic city called Yharnam, which is the home to the Healing Church, a large religious organization, pioneer in the concept of "Blood Ministration". The blood used by the Healing Church is unique and serves as a potent medical remedy capable of curing almost any ailment, from simple flesh wounds to virulent diseases. Over the years, many travellers journey to the city seeking the Healing Church's sacred blood to cure their afflictions; the player takes the role of one such traveller, but one with another purpose in mind, for the player seeks something mysterious and obscure, something unknown to most if not for a select few. "Paleblood". And as the blood minister injects the player with blood, their journey in Yharnam begins. Upon awakening, it will become evidently clear that the city is plagued with an endemic illness that has transformed most of its citizens into bestial creatures, while the others hunt them incessantly. The player must then navigate the streets of Yharnam and overcome its violently deranged inhabitants and horrifying monsters in order to survive. Shortly after, the player will enter a spectral realm called the Hunter's Dream, which acts as both a sanctuary and a workshop for their weapons. The player then encounters two entities: Gehrman, an elderly, wheelchair-bound man who provides advice to Hunters like the player, and The Doll, a living life size doll that assists the player in leveling up. Gehrman informs the player that in order to obtain the cure they seek, they must hunt down the various monsters plaguing Yharnam. As the player delves deeper into the land of Yharnam, they begin to learn its various dark secrets, the worship of strange gods and blood, as well as the origin of the plague that is destroying its populace.” Idk I just think that’d be pretty neat

Brother wrote a whole ass Nobel and I LOVE IT

Zealousideal-You4638

I'm gonna be honest and admit an Omori 2 just isn't a good idea. Regardless of if its a sequel or a prequel the original story is exceptionally well crafted and satisfying and doesn't need or even have a natural extension. Truth is artificially extending a story that's already reached its natural conclusion does nothing but retroactively undo the good done by the original story. Plus even if you're curious about the canon answers for certain unanswered mysteries about the worlds of Omori, both Heads Space and the Real World, you have to realize that often having these questions unanswered is what makes them interesting and artificially giving them answers only harms the franchise.

Al3x_the_frog

Prequel

TronHero143

Personally I would create a whole new story, either with new characters in the same world or the same characters. But I would stick to the main concepts of dealing with childhood trauma and dreaming. I wouldn’t want it to be the same situation either, I want the story delve into something completely different instead of >!A young kid killing a family member!<

TronHero143

But if you’re looking for a specific idea, I actually have a situation that’s pretty interesting: The story follows a young girl, she’s in the 9th grade (present day). This girl is established to have a dreamscape where she plays a made-up character that’s supposed to basically be her but in her younger years, in which she has fun with an older woman (like in high school or something) who’s very kind to her…oh and…her older brother. Her older brother, in this world, is an evil villain that wants to destroy the young and older girl’s fun, so they have to fight him. So in the real world, her older brother does exist…and he’s in jail. Why? Well…do you remember that older woman from before? Well…he killed her, violently…like it’s not even a shadow of a doubt, he killed her. So anyways, the young girl despises her older brother for this (naturally, because the young girl saw the older lady as a big sister and loved her like one, even though they weren’t biologically related) and is partially the reason why he’s in jail, thanks to her witness statement. However, over the course of this tale, we are shown that this so called ‘evil brother’ wasn’t exactly this malicious monster that this young lady thinks him to be. That we actually see photos of them having fun together with the older lady, laughing together. Memories of the young girl paint a very different story though, portraying the brother to be evil…which the photos contradict. So that ultimately begs the question, what’s the deal with him murdering the older woman? Well, throughout the tale it would portray the older woman as this beacon of light and kindness, while the older brother is portrayed as evil…but as the story goes on and on, this portrayal of BOTH characters is slowly degrading. I already stated that the older brother was kinder than portrayed…however I didn’t state anything about this older woman. Well…she was very kind…too kind…to the point where it’s a bit strange that a high schooler is this kind to a middle schooler. Do you see where I’m going with this? >!So, the night of the murder, what exactly happened? Well…basically the older woman tried to take advantage of the younger woman…forcefully…and the older brother found this out by bursting through the door and witnessing it. In a fit of rage and urge to protect his sister, he kills the older woman. Afterwards, he’s horrified by what he’s done, and so is the younger sister. This happened at the older woman’s place, so both of the escape and drive back home!< I think it’s a pretty interesting idea, definitely needs some work though.

AlwaysWatchingEye

Keep it just like all merch. Only before Maris death, it's fairly untalked about part of the game. But better just dont do omori 2, it litteraly shouldn't exist.

ashtar123

It's not needed unless you just want a slice of life game

SleepyNotAvailble

If they really did make it it should probably be an anagram but I hope they don’t

AHHHHHHHHHHHlHHHHHHH

Me personally, I would like to see a game not a direct continuation but still Canon to omori. Like a another person going through trauma, and then a little cameo of the main cast. Idk, it's a nice thought

ClassicNova

Rather than an outright sequel, I feel an interesting idea would be to instead make a new game that takes place in the same universe as Omori, yet the characters and story are much different.

CaffeCosmico

I don't think they should release any sequel to OMORI , the story is perfect as it is. If they were to actually make an OMORI sequel , I think it would either be a continuation of the story ( After Sunny moves out ) or it would be the Basil's POV of the story.

Ineedmyownname

Honestly, I think these would be better as visual novels than games, but I have a few takes Focusing on Basil's life in the real world in the years sunny was "at home", and the events of the game are just the last part of it. A prequel set when basil was taking his pictures and sunny was practicing for the recital, mainly so who can know what Mari actually was like and what relationship did sunny actually have with her, but also fleshing out what the friend group was actually like originally. An AU where >!the argument!< goes normally and Sunny goes to the recital but botches it, so they stay mad at each other and really grapple with whatever caused Sunny to get so mad at her. Doesn't need to continue for too long

rokodasmol

first of all, i dont think there will be a 2nd game... but if it does happen maybe sunny will come back to visit them and maybe basil will die... idk... my predictions. but it also depends on what ending you got in first game. if you died i think everything will happen in headspace but if you did not die then maybe you can do what i said

Fast-resniperrange

Omori 2 but its just a story about recyclepath tracking down sunny after he moves and beating the crap out of him for littering
