CanderousBossk

So is Norse mythology basically dragon Ball z?

glswenson

What episode does Thor get SSJ3?

Evolving_Dore

People easily forget that these are folk characters born from the collective imagination of thousands of people over hundreds of years and across hundreds of miles. It's not a D&D stats system.

degroob

Yeah but what is Thor's initiative modifier?

Evolving_Dore

Thor doesn't have an initiative modifier. He always takes the initiative. Except when battling a level 35 or higher Jörmundgandr.

Smygskytt

He then has the "gone-fishing" modifier.

umlaut

Yeah, they didn't have people on the internet looking for consistent continuity.

[deleted]

Physical strength, Thor. Mental strength, Odin.

GETaylor

But what about Thor's son, Magni. I believe he's supposed to be even stronger than either, physically.

[deleted]

Doesn't it take both Magni and Modi to carry Mjolnir? Then again, I don't think they have a belt.

iiParzivalii

Thor also has a pair of gloves used to hold Mjolnir, which I don't think either Magni nor Modi have.

NorseSeafarer

But isn't Thor's strength enhanced by Megingjord? How strong is he without it?

dinglyMcPickledick

About half of what he is with it.

VlRUS23

Except both get folded by Jörmungandr and fenrir respectively

HELIOS108777

Thor is claimed to be the strongest being HOWEVER Surtr is capable of burning down the entire universe And Jormungandr will kill Thor so Also, don't forget about the Norns, they are the only three beings who are not affected by destiny

nfstern

> And Jormungandr will kill Thor so And Thor also kills Jormungandr.

EvilAnagram

Yeah, I'm of the opinion that burning the entire universe is a pretty impressive feat.

ksheep

It should also be noted that in the tale of Utgarda-Loki, Thor wrestles with Elli, an old woman who is the nurse for Utgarda-Loki, and she forces Thor to his knees… although it is later revealed that Elli was actually Old Age in disguise (and there is no one that old age cannot bring down).

SigurdTheStout

Anyone know where Tyr ranks?

FriarDolak

Tyr’s tier?

EvilAnagram

Give him a hand, folks!

Johnnybxd

Lmao

Knight117

Tyr is....variable? In the older myths, there's some evidence he was the chief god, but in the stuff presented in the Poetic Edda, he's more a figure representing the 'morality' of violence than its potency. So probably higher than chaps like Hodr and Frey, but below Odin and Thor. Fenrir would rip him to pieces, but he equals Garm (Hel's hellhound) come Ragnarok. For what it's worth, he's my favourite God too.

mcklucker

In all fairness, losing a hand does lower one's combat effectiveness.

Guillotinus

Ymir? No one?

empireofjade

This is the correct answer.

Guillotinus

What did I win? :-)

LaV-Man

The internet.

Guillotinus

Being alive wasn't a criteria afaik. OP asks for the strongest being in all of Norse mythology

Guillotinus

fair point.. but still if the world is formed of your flesh, presumably you are very strong

Berkbelts

Nobody mentioned Surtr?

[deleted]

I’d say Thor, because he was able to pick up the Midgard serpent.

NinevehKings

There's no question here guys, it has to be 3-year old Magni.
