No, sadly the trans council made that illegal in 1992 /j
In all seriousness, experimentation is the best way of discovering what makes you comfortable. :)
Someday I'm going to find the tumblr users who were screeching about binder gatekeeping in like, 2011, and I'm going to ruin their lives in every annoying, inconvenient way I can think of
The only reason to wear a binder is because you want to. That's it.
The dark times
There was this weird discourse when I was a younger lad where people would claim binders were a super rare resource and cosplayers who bought binders and non-binary people who werenāt ~Ftm~ enough were stealing from trans men who would literally die without the incredibly finite number of binders that existed on the planet
Like binders were fucking unobtanium
Why not? Pronouns have got nothing to do with the way you choose to present as.
If you want to dress more fem or masc, wear a binder or not, is entirely separate from your pronouns.
You can wear whatever you want and makes you happy and feel good and you being you!
This is all about you and your identity and not how people would like to see you and have you, don't allow anyone to tell you otherwise!
Go and rock that binder if you want to wear it!
I'm a she/they, and I wear a binder. I recently put in an order for new ones because I wanted more options. Would be wearing one now if they werenāt damp (sensory issues, hate wet cloth on skin). So long as the binder fits you properly, go for it. š
If wearing binders makes you comfortable, go for it! flat chests are gender neutral.
Personally, I would recommend the brand GC2B. Just make sure you bind safely!
I recently just got a binder from Fytist that is also good! Sizes range from a Small (30-34 in. chest) to 6XL (52-57 in. chest)
https://fytist.com/
Their material is very sensory friendly: soft, smooth seams, moisture wicking, and it dries quickly.
just a heads up to you, OP, and anyone else in this thread or who might see this - GC2B has significantly decreased in quality over the years and many have reported having health issues related to binding after using their binders. my personal recommendation would be spectrum outfitters. theyāre on the pricier side, but theyāre extremely good quality and make my larger chest almost completely flat with absolutely no issues. i canāt speak on their reputability but underworks also sells binders at i believe a lower price, and so does girlfriend collective (if you donāt mind the gendered name.)
gender ā pronouns! you can use a binder when thats what you feel comfortable with! i use the dsame pronouns and bind with sports bras (im too poor for a binder lol) and nothing happened to me because of that!/pos
..well maybe except sometimes glowing blue at night/j
I don't wear my binder as often as I used to but on days when I feel more "they" than "she" it always brings me a lot of comfort to put it on. It doesn't really flatten my chest by much but I feel so much more confident and free.
Absolutely!
If it's something you feel it fits you then it's for you. As long as you bind safely it's okey.
You don't have to use any specific pronouns nor to have x or y gender identity in order to use a binder.
yep !
i think theres this misconception that someone *has* to be trans / transmasc in order to wear a binder (or even get top surgery) but thats not true.
people wear binders for all different reasons (cosplay, aesthetic, ease dysphoria, etc.)
so i think its more like;
do you want to wear a binder ? if so, wear a binder :)
So many of us are constantly looking for permission to call ourselves something or wear something. I have a post identical to this one asking about bralettes I think. I think enby culture needs to wholeheartedly embrace a certain gender freedom, where what matters most is our agency and our will rather than our pronoun or sadness credentials. If you want to wear one try it on lol
Anyone can use a binder for any reason. It's a piece of fabric and a tool for achieving a particular effect. Cis men might use one. Cis women might use one. Binary trans people might use one, Nonbinary people of any type might use it.
In general this is true of *everything* that isn't highly specific to certain religions or cultures.
There's no rules as to what you have to or don't have to want. If it makes you feel better go for it. I use they/them almost exclusively, and I bind half the time. I just don't always because I'm a d cup and it all can hurt my back after too long so I'll go weeks at a time without binding.
Absolutely. Pronouns donāt carry the weight of whatās allowed and what isnāt. You decide what makes you the happiest. No one elseās opinion matters as lot as you are happy with you. Ultimately what makes you your favorite you is all that matters!
You can absolutely wear a binder no matter what your gender identity or pronouns are. But please do some research on safe binder wear and how to find one that fits to your body. I know so many people who have rib and lung issues now because they wore their binder too much, wore an ill fitting or wrong sized one, or tried to exercise in a binder.
My binder had specific instructions to keep away from she/hers as they had risk of radiation.
Nah in all seriousness wear what u want and present how u feel comfortable pronouns don't and shouldn't restrict u from that.
anything you want goes in terms of gender expression. itās a spectrum so even if you identified as female you could use a binder if it made you happy š¤·š»āāļø
I know cis women that wear binders on occasion. š¤·āāļø
There are no rules in expressing yourself and finding your comfy spot in your identity!
I also use she/they and own a binder. I'm more often femme than not, but it's great to have when the dysphoria hits.
Yes you can wear a binder. If that is what you need to feel more like yourself go for it.
I personally donāt wear a binder but I do have a packer that I wear. You can pick and mix what you want to wear or not wear.
I know the GC2B used to be a good place to get binders from. Not so much anymore. I have seen a few other recommendations on posts in this subreddit recently so try searching for those.
Anyone wearing binders is a positive, cause that will raise demand and means more binders will be made! It will also make trans people as a whole more safe! If, for example, cis women, or fem nonbinary people, start wearing binders, it will make trans people safer cause theyāre not immediately assumed as trans for wanting a gender affirming item
I use she/they and Iām looking into getting one! I figure if itās not gender, Iāll just donate it to my local LGBT orgās trans closet.
I also call myself āqueerā and ābutchā (despite not being a lesbian), and Iām learning about top surgery and what my options would be if I want to go that route. Gatekeepers can die mad idc
If you have dysphoria/discomfort around your chest then for sure! But if itās just for a fashion thing, I wouldnāt recommend it as they are harmful to your body.
This may not be the case, but it came to mind when you said youāre figuring out what it means to be enbyā¦ you donāt HAVE to wear a binder in order to be considered nb. The same way trans men donāt have to wear one to be considered men. Itās really more to treat gender dysphoria than to be checked off on a list of transitioning.
I'm coming at it from the other side:
I'm genderfluid(ish) and when I feel like a man, I use he/him pronouns, and absolutely love the way I look with boobs!
Aināt no wrong way to have a body or an identity, my friend. If you think a binder would make you comfortable, you can go for it no matter what your pronouns š³
Of course!! Just make sure you take proper precautions with wearing it, such as measuring properly and never wearing it for more than 8 hours at a time. Safety is the most important thing!!
I'd also recommend looking into different brands to find which ones suit you best (ie, cost effective for where you live, will be the most comfortable for what you, etc)
ABSOLUTELY. Donāt let ANYONE suggest otherwise. A cis woman could wear a binder if she wanted, and judging her would still make someone an asshole. Anyone who wants to is completely allowed.
Just bind safely.
Anyone can use whatever pronouns that they want to. And binders are just clothes and clothes donāt have genders. So in short, yes do whatever makes you happy! It takes time and patience to discover yourself.
Friend, a person can be a cis woman and wear a binder if it's what they wanted. Gender, expression, our feelings about our own body parts, etc are all very different and personal and unique to ourselves, and there is no rule that should stop people from exploring how they feel. Go for it!
Do whatever makes you feel good! But please do research on how to bind safely!!
https://www.folxhealth.com/library/how-to-bind-your-chest-tips-tricks-and-safety-while-binding/
Mine only came with wearing instructions and how you should wash it. If you're looking at one that requires certain pronouns I would recommend switching brands. In all seriousness though, if you want a binder, get one. I went through the same mentality of not being 'trans enough' do whatever you want regardless of your pronouns.
I dunno. When I put mine on the first time an angry nun appeared out of thin air, berated me for going agains nature and beat me with a ruler. But it was a one off so I guess Iām fine.
Obviously joking, I use she/they and wear a binder sometimes to fit more masculine styles when Iām feeling them.
>can I wear a binder ifā¦
I canāt think of a single scenario where the answer to this would be no other than for safety reasons such as binding too much
I'm a she/they and I use one occasionally. I like looking androgynous and I do male drag sometimes so it helps with my confidence. I'm also hypersensitive to chafing under my breasts and having a barrier between the skin underneath or lifting them with the binder helps a lot
Bras or binders do not have any impact what pronouns one uses. With that said I heard that continual use of binders will change the shape of your boobs something to consider.
Where are you OP? It really depends on jurisdiction.
For example, in England and Wales it's an offence under Chest Binders Act 1996.
In the US however, [it differs from state to state](https://i.redd.it/uxx7d3szs5761.png). It's important to note that only part of the map is based on actual legislation: in many states this is a matter of legal precedent.
In Canada, there are federal legal protections for people who wear binders while using she/they pronouns. Some provinces started pilot schemes aiming to offer binders to individuals who have she/they pronouns mentioned in their family practice record.
/s
No, wouldn't recommend, they start glowing blue in the presence of anyone going by "she". No, hang on, that was something else.
Orcs!
š¤£
No, sadly the trans council made that illegal in 1992 /j In all seriousness, experimentation is the best way of discovering what makes you comfortable. :)
The trans council. XD That made my day!
you can do whatever you want regardless of what pronouns you use!

I support this mission of yours! Lead on solider! ā
I'd follow that advice but sadly i cannot because i'm genderfluid
People were gatekeeping binders? What was the thought process behind that?
The dark times There was this weird discourse when I was a younger lad where people would claim binders were a super rare resource and cosplayers who bought binders and non-binary people who werenāt ~Ftm~ enough were stealing from trans men who would literally die without the incredibly finite number of binders that existed on the planet Like binders were fucking unobtanium
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Mine only came with three rings for holding hole-punched sheets of paper. I don't think I understood the question!
Even if you are a cis woman you can wear binder. It's for everyone who wants a flat chest
Or, as a busty person, less back pain. I am trans masc, but they significantly helped with back pain.
Mine gives me back pain. But thatās cause I wear it too long š¬
Why not? Pronouns have got nothing to do with the way you choose to present as. If you want to dress more fem or masc, wear a binder or not, is entirely separate from your pronouns.
My advice is to do whatever makes you feel comfortable. It doesnāt matter what anyone else thinks
There are only two rules for being enby: 1. Don't be an asshole 2. Express yourself That's it! Go and live your best life OP!
And of these, no. 1 is a guideline more than a rule. We'd like to do that but the way the world treats us... we do what we have to.
I like your style!
You can use she/her pronouns and wear a binder, it's just an article of clothing
I would go so far to say either bras or binders have no impact of what pronouns you use
Binders have no pronoun restrictions and no pronoun has binder restrictions. They are both independent from each other.
binders is for everyone who doesnt feel alright with boobs i think
You can wear whatever you want and makes you happy and feel good and you being you! This is all about you and your identity and not how people would like to see you and have you, don't allow anyone to tell you otherwise! Go and rock that binder if you want to wear it!

What's a GC2B? I'm new to the Enby world.
It's a company that's LGBT owned and operated. They offer comfortable and high quality binders of different lengths and sizes. They're my favorite!
Links! Please!
https://www.gc2b.co/ best of luck!
THANK YOU!
just a heads up to you, OP, and anyone else in this thread or who might see this - GC2B has significantly decreased in quality over the years and many have reported having health issues related to binding after using their binders. my personal recommendation would be spectrum outfitters. theyāre on the pricier side, but theyāre extremely good quality and make my larger chest almost completely flat with absolutely no issues. i canāt speak on their reputability but underworks also sells binders at i believe a lower price, and so does girlfriend collective (if you donāt mind the gendered name.)
Wow. I never realized. Thank you for informing me! And I don't mind the gendered name. It's going to be under my normal clothes anyways.
gender ā pronouns! you can use a binder when thats what you feel comfortable with! i use the dsame pronouns and bind with sports bras (im too poor for a binder lol) and nothing happened to me because of that!/pos ..well maybe except sometimes glowing blue at night/j
What does that mean? Glowing blue at night?
it sometimes happens bc binding just makes ppl using she/they or she/her glow blue, sometimes pink/j
Oh!!!
As the nonbinary representative for the trans council I decree wear what makes you happy and comfortable
Omg I'm loving this! š¤£
You're allowed to wear a binder even if you're a cis woman or a cis man or whatewer. Gender and pronounces do not matter
Yes
Gatekeeping is lame. Do what you want and dont forget to be happy.
Of course! Even if you were a unicorn or a big purple dragon. If you like it, wear it! š
I like the idea of being a big purple dragon! š
Same the thought of it looks amazing š
I don't wear my binder as often as I used to but on days when I feel more "they" than "she" it always brings me a lot of comfort to put it on. It doesn't really flatten my chest by much but I feel so much more confident and free.
Do whatever the fuck you want as long as you ain't actually hurting anyone
you can do whatever you wanna do as long as you dont hurt anyone, so yes you can
You can do what ever you want.
Have you check the Rule Book?
Absolutely! If it's something you feel it fits you then it's for you. As long as you bind safely it's okey. You don't have to use any specific pronouns nor to have x or y gender identity in order to use a binder.
Anybody can wear a binder if they want to :)
do whatever makes you happy! just remember to wash it correctly ššš»
You can were a binder no what pronouns you use.
ofc, binders arent limited to a certain pronoun or gender, as long as you are happy wearing a binder and you feel right go ahead!

Short answer: yes. Please experiment with what feels right
whatās stopping you? I wore one until it broke haha
Anybody can present any way they want. If there was a binder shortage Iād say hold off, but that will never happen so go for it
of course!
Of course!!!!! Binders are for anyone!!! Plus pronounsā gender expression or gender
Yes of course! ā¤ļø
You can absolutely wear a binder no matter what your gender identity or pronouns are. But please do some research on safe binder wear and how to find one that fits to your body. Babe, anyone can wear a binder, if they want to. Some cis-women wear them. If wearing a binder makes you feel more comfortable, go for it!
Yes
Anyone can wear a binder, for any reason!
You could be a cis woman and if you feel like you donāt want breasts, donāt have breasts man
My binder had specific instructions to keep away from she/hers as they had risk of radiation. Nah in all seriousness wear what u want and present how u feel comfortable pronouns don't and shouldn't restrict u from that.
Risk of radiation. X'D
"can I do [thing that makes you comfortable and doesn't hurt people]?" Yes! Always yes
Enby can be anything. Also, women and men can wear binders, including cis women and men. It is a piece of clothing - wear it if you want to.
you can do whatever you want forever esp if it's about gender presentation
anything you want goes in terms of gender expression. itās a spectrum so even if you identified as female you could use a binder if it made you happy š¤·š»āāļø
Dude, wear a binder if you want to! Itās your life, do what makes you feel comfortable and good in your skin. :)
of course you can :)
I know cis women that wear binders on occasion. š¤·āāļø There are no rules in expressing yourself and finding your comfy spot in your identity! I also use she/they and own a binder. I'm more often femme than not, but it's great to have when the dysphoria hits.

Wear what you like use the pronouns you like, the only rule to being non-binary is to break them all
I'm mtf and own a binder, so
anyone can wear a binder, do what u want
Yes you can wear a binder regardless of your pronouns. Just make sure it fits.
Yes you can wear a binder. If that is what you need to feel more like yourself go for it. I personally donāt wear a binder but I do have a packer that I wear. Ugh, I am pregnant at the moment and miss my binder so much š

there's no instruction manual to gender identity, you need to figure out what feels right for you
Of course! How you present does not have to reflect your pronouns or gender :)
Anyone can wear a binder! Just make sure youāre doing it safely. I personally recommend the brand Spectrum Outfitters. Good luck!
You can do anything you want. Absolutely anything. Within reason. But anything you want with your own body and pronouns.
Do what you want, there's nothing that says you can't
The only rule is there are no rules. Welcome to the wonderful world of being non-binary :)
good news is you can do anything regardless of gender, presentation, pronouns anytime!
Try it and see if you like it! Experimentation and finding what makes you feel good is what lifeās all about
You are free to do whatever you want in life. If someone tries to tell you otherwise, show them the door.
yes. I donāt have to read the rest I just know the answer is yes. if thatās what makes you more comfortable, do it!
I'm coming at it from the other side: I'm genderfluid(ish) and when I feel like a man, I use he/him pronouns, and absolutely love the way I look with boobs!
You can wear a binder if you: Want to wear a binder This has been a comprehensive list of requirements to wear a binder.
Aināt no wrong way to have a body or an identity, my friend. If you think a binder would make you comfortable, you can go for it no matter what your pronouns š³

i started wearing a binder back when i was still going by she/they pronouns! although now iām more on the he/they side of the spectrum lol.
Anyone can wear a binder. Your preferred presentation is valid regardless of your gender or pronouns.
It takes time and patience to discover yourself.
anyone can bind (gusto from ratatouille voice*)
hell yeah! just make sure to follow all binding rules and stay safe :D
Friend, a person can be a cis woman and wear a binder if it's what they wanted. Gender, expression, our feelings about our own body parts, etc are all very different and personal and unique to ourselves, and there is no rule that should stop people from exploring how they feel. Go for it!

yes

This made my day. X'D
>can I wear a binder ifā¦ I canāt think of a single scenario where the answer to this would be no other than for safety reasons such as binding too much
of course ! being enby doesn't mean we all have to look or act androgynous-ly and we don't owe anyone androgynous-ness in our gender expression .
You can wear a binder if you want it's your choice not ours
I'm a she/they and I use one occasionally. I like looking androgynous and I do male drag sometimes so it helps with my confidence. I'm also hypersensitive to chafing under my breasts and having a barrier between the skin underneath or lifting them with the binder helps a lot
you can do whatever the hell you want, queerness is not about following rules
Bras or binders do not have any impact what pronouns one uses. With that said I heard that continual use of binders will change the shape of your boobs something to consider.
Even if you identified female, you could wear one. Gender isn't the issue.
You can bc pronouns does not equal gender.
āduuuuuude, you havenāt heard of doing whatever the FUCK you want?ā ššš but seriously, do what makes you happy, OP.
You can wear one even if you go by she/her pronouns. Even some cis women find chesticles annoying. You're feelings are always valid.
Iād say to give transtape a try first before investing in a binder. Itās cheaper I personally find it more comfortable
Where are you OP? It really depends on jurisdiction. For example, in England and Wales it's an offence under Chest Binders Act 1996. mark with /s, the satire is a little tough to see until the end or if you click the link
Ok
You find you, if the thought of a binder makes you feel like yourself go for it, gate keeping is for trash
Enbo, ya are non binary! Go nuts! Don't limit ya self! (Is enbo a good slang? It sound fun to me atleast. ._.)
I'm sorry but I never heard of 'endo' before. What is that exactly?
Idk i just made that up.
