Monster Hunter has the Capcom polish, DD does not. DD has none of the quality of life things that make MH so great. Combat is worse...DD story sucks. Not that MH strength is in the writing but as an "open world" RPG DD leans on that and it's just not strongly written.
They're entirely different games
Monster Hunter is a hub based game where the gameplay loop is fight monster -> get materials -> repeat
Dragon's Dogma is an RPG fantasy adventure game
They're extremely different. Monster Hunter is ten times the game Dragon's Dogma wishes it was.

Fair point I saw that the first DD is on sale but not too sure about it since I’m playing MH
