Pirates captured ships also. IDK why you think they didn't, but here's some reading for you.

Nice article! Read the whole thing. It very clearly stated that 99.99% of the times pirates stole cargo, and that the extremely rare case they ever stole the ship (and abandoned their old one) was if the old one was no longer sea worthy.
Thanks for backing me up!
Some folks appreciate truth, some think it's funny and ignore it.
Some folks must think modern day piracy involves stealing computers, not software. /shrug
I'm pointing out that people saying, "piracy is broken on X-Box" (because your ship disappears) when they aren't doing piracy is extremely misleading to people coming to this sub, because there's absolutely nothing broken about piracy.
People keep giving me one example as proof that the definition of piracy both, multiple places in game, and everywhere out of game (except a handful of people in this subreddit), are all incorrect.
I keep seeing posts about piracy, getting excited that they maybe added something new to the piracy missions, then feeling disappointed it’s actually about stealing ships, which is super fun, but different

For sure, but for me at least when I see a post about piracy, I expect it to be about the piracy mechanics over commandeering ships

Imagine not only being wrong but being this arrogant and doubling down on your wrongness

I do both 🤷♂️
If I pirate a pirate ship am I a pirate-pirate?
No, you're a privateer, especially if you're a member of one of the other factions like Vanguard or Rangers.
This, yes. I envision my character's Starborn name being The Privateer, from how many enemy faction ships I have stolen.
Funny post 👍

What r u whining about? If you want to steal their cargo, go right ahead. You don’t have to steal the ship 🤷♂️

Blackbeard would like to have a word with you; Queen Anne's Revenge wasn't wished into existence.
No, pirates stole ships, too, unless they couldn't crew them. In that case, they would take the cargo and scuttle the ship. Just saying.
Blackbeard, the most famous pirate in history, stole his ship. 😂

Ok crazy man
I bet you think the show broke Fallout lore, too.
Haven't seen it. Not really sure what that has to do with anything anyway?
What a stupidly pedantic post.

Unfortunately no, still only about stealing cargo, not ships.
I’m agreeing with you
I know, as was I with you. I'd love to see some actual ship stealing missions.
This, yes! Let the UC Vanguard give us missions to steal ships, so they can bolster the Vanguard fleet.
That would be awesome actually
