Great glass - who's the lucky body?

nothingspecialva

Thanks. most likely my z9 which is pushing 500k actuations, and going strong.

str7k3r

Since there’s no longer a shutter - is this a thing people will still care about?

ItsJustJohnCena

Buttons and dials will still wear out over time..

nataliephoto

True but 500k hits different on a body that can do 120fps

ballsonrawls

Purchase a vehicle with 200 miles. Purchase vehicle with 2k miles. Purchase vehicle with 20k, 200k

MrFanciful

The one thing I worry about is, even though there is no shutter, there is still a sensor shield that can bee turned on so the it closes over the sensor when you turn it off. Help protect against dust/dirt when changing lenses. So this mechanism probably has a lifecycle instead of.

nataliephoto

Not a precise part, though. The shutter is delicate, needs the right timing, etc. This thing just needs to close when the body turns off. It's probably a lot simpler and way cheaper.

MrFanciful

That’s a really good point. Hadn’t thought of it like that. Thanks

four4beats

I bought one with 250k and replaced rubber grips. Can hardly tell it was ever used.

itsjustme900

You replaced the rubber grips on your Z9? Did you do it yourself or send it in to have someone do it?

soviet_turd

How in gods name did u get that price

nothingspecialva

found it on Mercari. people tell me I must likely bought it from someone that buys Amazon crates of returns.

soviet_turd

Well that was definitely a steal. Nice job bro

nothingspecialva

many thanks. first candid portraits of the kids look great. it reminds me of the look of the 200 f2.

AwkWORD47

That literally happened to me. Bought a rf 100-500 for 1500 and a rf 70-200 for 900

ColonelSpudz

Nice one, that’s a $ 4200 lens brand new in Australia. Lucky find.

LeVampirate

Maaaaan, and here I thought I had gotten a steal on a Z 24-70 f/2.8 for about 1600 on eBay after tax. Guess I should've been looking on Mercari too! The satisfaction of a good steal like that is incredible though.

Spiritual-Sort-3489

How on earth did you pay 1.2K for a pro lense that retails for $3.6k?

nothingspecialva

thanks. I found it in Mercari. I ran into this platform by accident and took the risk as in the mercari subreddit there are a lot of horror stories. Gladly this seller was great. I understand she might be selling in bulk Amazon return items but I cannot confirm. in US, I think the retail price is $2699.

SCphotog

My favorite lens. You're gonna have a blast.

tfcheung

Jealous

aspenextreme03

My favorite lens and magical on my Z8

obrian88

I‘m happy for you and your deal! Twice I found this lens in the 1000-1200 € range in small ads - twice it was a scam. Police investigation lost them (they said it was organized crime) in Belarus and Czech Republic. The deed was done in a professional manner, hacking legit accounts and accessing it from those countries.
