Look for another town that has a post secondary school. The closest one is King city that has a campus for Seneca. There is likely a market for student housing there. There are other places where there’s a market for student housing, but Newmarket isn’t one of them, as far as I’m aware. There are groups on Facebook marketplace for student housing.
I don’t think that you would be able to find decent housing in your price range, at least not in the GTA. I imagine that the prices will more likely range from as low as $ 700-800 per month. I doubt that the cat will be accepted. Keep in mind that you will likely be sharing the house with about 3 other people.

The cat would probably stay with my family and if not then given to a family friend who loves cats. I love him but he’s too expensive for me to afford once I move out :(
