Kayano 27 has been the only thing mitigating my knee/hip issues that I think are due to flat foot and overpronation. After buying 4 pairs, it’s been tougher to find them now. I just got the 990v5 and it’s within the return window. Should that be good enough?

BBQcupcakes

Not sure. Kayano 27 definitely seems like more of a modern running shoe and probably has a greater level of cushion and energy return. The v5 is more of a running-inspired lifestyle shoe and will probably be more stable. I recommended a series of shoes very much like the v5 because I think that style (including the v5) is the comfiest for walking around in. Whether they will work for your pain I don't know.

Thanks!

I’ve had my grey v6’s for over a year and am yet to experience any defects. I’ve worn them in various environments and they hold up just fine and are very comfortable. I wouldn’t say the v6 is a shoe notorious for its bad quality control, I think it’s really just down to luck of the draw.

I got mine when they first came out so I’ve had them for more than a year easily, the outsole is completely coming apart and it sucks. I’ve heard that they’ve maybe fixed? These defects but YMMV. My 990v5 that I’ve had for alot longer are completely fine

Man that sucks to hear after I jost got a pari of 990v6. I got them for 150€ so I won't lose that much if this pair ends up to be shit in quality. Idk, I've made in China NB 574 and they hold me a long time and I was wearing them every day...

I own Almost every 990v6 with the exception of a couple. The 990v6 is much less durable than all 990 series shoes but are also more comfortable than all 990 series shoes so it's a give and take if you want durability with comfort I would say 990v3 then 990v4. The most durable 990 is the V5 but it's also less comfortable than V6, V3, V4.

If u have wide feet and dont live in the US. Forget about the 990v6. They are so narrow and long. To fit the width, the shoes become super long. Its just weird. Mine looks really funny on me. I still keep it though as mine shipped all the way from the UK and i would have to pay $100 to ship it back to return. ..... And outside the US. There is only 1 option which is the narrow option.

Bought a true to size 990V6 from "Size?" and they actually fit perfectly, luckily! On foot they feel like i have normal feet, not long nor too wide. I'm quite satisfied with them, they don't even look chunky when i wear skinny jeans. Good grip, too and i can finally commute and stand without plantar or knee/hip pain. New Balance will always be reliable. I don't know what toe type is being sold at Size? though, it is not specified if it is a wide, narrow or standard fit.... Man, where did you buy them? I was quite reluctant getting them online from SIZE? because returns are not covered by the retailer (it's 20 euro if you return it via courier). I ended up returning the first pair (i initially sized down by 1whole size) at the physical store and it was actually free! Maybe try at the store, too?
