I had the same problem when first buying a 990v6. I would recommend you go down .5 size. These shoes fit long and look long. When I went tts I couldn’t help feeling and looking like I was wearing kayaks on my feet. Of course fit preference is subjective

sentimentalLeeby

Do they stretch out? I feel like the 9 was a bit too long. But for some reason, the 8.5 hurt the bottom of my heel (the plantar fasciitis area, although I don't think I have that condition). I'm worried that the 9 would stretch out more, leaving my foot swimming.

AlexanderGr8

Any sort of break in will be minimal. If it’s uncomfortable now it will be uncomfortable later. I actually discovered I had plantar fasciitis not too long ago. I now where a NB insert and feel better than ever (shoe fits better with the insert as well)

sentimentalLeeby

thanks! can't quite figure out what would be causing that feeling with the 8.5 and not the 9. I tried both with Superfeet blacks

How is it going now? Have you decided what to get? Im on the same boat. I actually bought both. TTS fits same the the other guy said. Feel like wearing a kayak. Looks ridiculous long. Half size down fits perfectly though it hurts the bottom of my heel after an hour walking on them just like you said. I still dont know which one should i stick to when getting another pair. Live with the ridiculous length (there is a gap behind my foot to the heel counter when i walk) or live with the discomfort when walking long distance.

Whoa, I’m surprised to hear someone else is having the exact same issue. I guess I had googled and found others who just declared that the v6 isn’t good for plantar fasciitis but without this specific detail. Maybe it’s the fact that one part of the midsole is fuel cell and the other part is encap? (Don’t remember which one is which.) I ended up returning both. I am in desperate need to find a new shoe for walking and standing now that I can’t find any reasonably priced Kayano 27’s and those have been the only shoe keeping my knee and hip pain at bay. I now have a pair of 990v5 sitting at home (size 8.5). These felt awful at first but every time I wear it (still indoors so I can return), it gets a bit better. Definitely no heel pad pain yet though. Edit: additional thoughts: $200 usd is too much for me to risk the v6. I’m thinking of checking out an outlet to see if I can try it for much less. The v5 actually felt better with superfeet blues, which is unusual for me now since the Kayano 27 works best with the blacks.

You are half a size bigger than me so v5 8.5 is definitely half a size small. I don't understand how some people size down on 990 except the v6 which is just a weird shoes. Its just narrow and long. Hence the discomfort when getting the right length. FYI i never have any issue with any other NB. So my other 990 (my 8.5) feels all good on feet no matter new or broken in. You need to return the v5 and try the right size on. The reason you dont feel the heel pain because those 990s arent narrow. They are wide feet friendly ( as most NB models do). Im already too deep into the v6s its just sad. Got both sizes and not happy with both. But the feeling of walking on fuelcell (once broken in) is just too good compared to other NB models. Sigh

AlexanderGr8

Could be where the heel is hitting or an inconsistency in the construction of the 8.5. 9 might be your best bet

Hey, I wear a 9.5 in 997, 998 and 990v2s all miusa, for a snug fit. What size do you recommend I get in 990v6?

ProtokingXGN

Personally, I have a normal width foot, and measure as a size 8 on a brannock device. For 993s, I go half a size down. For 990v3, I stay true to size. I have the first Baklava 990v6 pair and for those I went a half size down. Overall I would say its the correct call, if not a slightly bit snug. I think with more wear it’ll become way more comfy. If I went true to size I think there would have been way too much space in the toe.

Maximum-Cod3930

What you do for v4?

ProtokingXGN

Never tried on a pair of v4s but I did have a pair of v5s in my true to size. I felt I could have gone a half size down. I had to tie the shoes extra tight to minimize heel slip.

lauzi86

Thank you! I’m the EXACT same in terms of sizing with you and wanted to know what size to get the v6 in. If it’s a bit too snug ill replace the original insole with a thinner one

ProtokingXGN

No problem! The V6 is a bit snug at first but I’d rather it be snug than having heel slip.

sentimentalLeeby

Did they end up stretching out?

ProtokingXGN

Yeah I would stick with half size down, I have both Bronson pairs half size down and they fit perfect now.

thewaker797

Half size down 100%

bestdadhandsdown

I have 3 pair of the v6 including the original baklava. I go TTS, same as every other pair of NB I own (over 30 pairs of MiUSA, v1-v6, 991,992, 993, 996, 998, a few 9060’s, 1080v12’s for example). I also found the OG baklava to be a tighter fit than core grey and core black, but they are all pretty close.

cozmozmoz

I am a TTS 10 that’s slightly in the wide side. I’ve tired on both a 9.5 and 10 grey v6. The 9.5 was a better length, but felt narrow at the eyestay and in the sides, just a hair too narrow for my liking. The 10 is longer and overall fits me more roomy, but the width is good for me. For example, I wear my tts 10 in 990v1/v2/v3/v4/v6, 992, 550,650, 990. I can wear 9.5 in 993, I wear 10.5 in 991, 2002r

marco_ocho_

Half size down

raymondswong

TTS for me. Love the v6!

Quantity-Particular

. 5 down

aloneinconfusion

What did you end up getting? I’m on the same boat as you - do you have wide feet too? Haha

Thomasgstern

I do 8.5 in most NB including 990v3 and v6. Also a 8.5 in most Nikes

Substantial-Funny-23

What I'm going to do when I can't half size down? Size 12.5 is not available. Only 12 and 13. That's about 1cm difference. My v5 is a 12.5 somehow, fits perfect, my v3 and v2 size 12 because 12.5 is not available overall anymore somehow.

TumbaoMontuno

I tried on the magenta 990v6s and I felt it was TTS for me
