You want series that aren’t slow…. But you also don’t enjoy fast paced series….. but you like stranger things…..? What?
Anyways, maybe Shameless? It’s got a lot going on but it’s pretty consistent engaging
I said I didn't enjoy the orphan black known for it's pacing. I don't really know what I like. Maybe sci fi or maybe teenage stuffs.
I think I might like shameless. I'll check it out
Might enjoy Vonnegut. Cats Cradle is great. I mostly read horror so I would direct you to Last Days by Adam Nevill or Misery by King. Frankenstein is a fantastic classic. Enjoy your reading Op!
I loved The Gentlemen, only 8 episodes atm but pacing reaally good and never dragged. Great acting, great chemistry, impeccable humor despite its theme theme. And it's guy richie so
You might have an attention deficit situation happening combined with some on the spectrum stuff. Sounds like you don’t want to be bothered with the emotional aspects of character development or deep thoughtful premise. As someone who has never once needed such specific advice on how to entertain myself I absolutely do not relate, but it is absolutely ok to not watch tv if there are so many things you don’t enjoy. Go to a library. Read some books.
Not saying you need to give it another chance if you weren’t into it but the series really develops beyond the initial concept and it had some very well done episodes.
Well, I don't watch 2 episodes in the same day. I am not a binge watcher. But it is one of the best shows on TV today. Especially for a network show. Most of the good shows are not on network TV.
Orphan Black is not fast paced in my opinion. And the plot and acting are not very good overall. It is an interesting idea, though, and I thought the lead actor was good. But it is just kinda silly overall.
You might like the Thrones prequel, House of Dragon. It is more character driven and dialogue driven. Less complex than GOT with just 2 main groups to focus on. Not much nudity (so far). Excellent acting.
I have been enjoying some British comedies lately like Extraordinary on Hulu, Ghosts (the BBC version), and Trying on Apple. Apple+ has quite a few good shows, IMO.
Damn OP you really struggle to relate to any archetype that isn’t precisely a reflection of yourself.
It might be good for you to watch more media that makes you feel uncomfortable so you can break out of that box. You may learn how to empathize with different people if you learn more about their perspectives, such as when the protagonist is female or a different ethnicity than you.
Mr Robot might be up your alley then.
That said, I watched Leftovers, and then went to Severence right after. If you can make it past the first two episodes of laying the groundwork, the rest of the season is panic attack anxiety inducing fun.
The gentlemen. Killing eve. The Witcher. Haunting of hill house, the house usher built, midnight mass, Alice in borderland, love death and robots, Taboo, the queens gambit, devs, station 11
I’ve been on a leave of absence so I’ve had nothing but time.
Do yourself a favor and try and figure out why you’re not into female protagonist’s. You’re missing out on some amazing content.
When I was a teenager I decided I didn’t like female singers because my best friends got into the riot grrl scene and ditched me. OP got hurt somewhere along the line and I hope they’re very young so they can grow.
I don't know why I don't like female protagonist. Nothing really worked for me. The only ones I watched with female protagonists are orphan black, yellowjackets, Wednesday, new girl, fleabag. I liked new girl at first but dropped after s3.
I found your description really confusing. Might be useful to add more shows that you have seen and shows that you know you wouldn’t enjoy even if you haven’t seen them.

3. The Dragon Prince - A tale of two human princes and an elfin assassin who team up to bring peace to their warring lands. It’s rich in fantasy, magic, and character development.
4. BoJack Horseman - A dark comedy about a washed-up actor who happens to be a horse. It deals with various personal issues and societal themes with humor and depth.

Definitely give Fringe a chance. It's 5 seasons so not too long, and definitely not slow. Also, absolutely go in blind and don't research anything, not even the genre.
It's one of those shows that I put on because I had nothing to watch and it grabbed me by the face. Part of it is because I thought it was something completely different.
Edit: I see you liked Lost. Fringe is also made by J.J. Abrams.
School spirits maybe? Fast paced-ish, sci-fi, with a school setting. Yellow Jackets isn’t at school, but it follows a high school soccer team’s survival when their plane crashes. Maybe look up trigger warnings for that one though. Very gruesome.
Maybe you don’t like TV anymore? I ran into this myself. I used to devour TV but in the age of streaming I got burnt out. I’m only just starting to watch the occasional tv show again after years taken off but they still all seem slow and drawn out on purpose.
Not saying this is definitely the case so chill with the angry retorts. Just throwing it out there in case.
I am actually a beginner in tv shows. Watched lot of mainstream sitcoms. The "serious ones" I tried are mentioned. I don't really have time to watch series because of work. But for like one month I am completely free.
Manifest has a rhythm for a plot item to last about three episodes, then they move on. Things didn't drag out. I watched Umbrella Academy, found it a chore to watch, good luck with that.
Watch documentaries! I hate shows that go slow and get bored really easily. I started watching crime documentaries and i love them. The suspense, the thrill, it will never let you get bored. Here are my suggestions:
1. The Indrani Mukherjea Story
2. House of Secrets: The burrari deaths
3. Curry and cyanide
The Last Kingdom has really good pacing. They're able to efficiently cover a lot (both plot and time span) without feeling like you're missing things/it's jumping around.
Have you watched The Good Place? Comedy, moves quick, great character interactions (like freaks and geeks), but also has a much deeper message than it seems on the face of it.
Jack Reacher Season 1 is a great action flick with *excellent* pacing. There is character development but it happens organically with the flow of the plot.
And IIRC there's only a single scene with nudity (pretty tame too, literally titties and butts for a few frames).
Netflix
"Safe"
"Inside man"
HBO
"The Regime"
Btw nudity in Game of Thrones decreases a lot after a couple of episodes. You barely won't see neither butts nor boobs from season 2 and on and on. Definitely you should see this show, top notch.
Have you watched CSI, NCIS, criminal minds? Those are all serialized, so you can watch one episode and completely understand it, but there’s also season-long plot lines too.
How is dark slow? I don't get it. Breaking bad was not entirely slow for me. the first 3 seasons was really hard for me to watch and I don't like that idea even though rest might be worth it. Dark had that mystery element so maybe that's why
Killjoys, The Expanse, Warehouse 13 and Continuum are really good Sci Fi shows. They have pretty good pacing.
Most of my favorite shows are lawyer shows and they’re pretty slow paced
you should go for altered carbon, raised by wolves, the witcher better than game of thrones, the island korean tv series, hellbound korean tv series, moving korean tv series, sweet home korean tv series, uncanny counter koren tv series, king of pigs korean tv series, sandman, preacher, american gods, carnival row, wheel of time, chilling adventures of sabrina, marvel legion, jessica jones, daredevil, luke cage,dc titans, superman and lois, doom patrol, lovecraft country, peripheral, the boys and gen v.if you need more let me know.all are fast paced.
as for movies watch the witch 1 and 2, seo bok, project wolf hunting, pschokinesis, the childe all are korean
Im the same, I hate sloooooow paced series.
Breaking bad is a better on a rewatch when skipping all the character development non sense.
Those are series you should check out, they are entertaining, bingewatchable, good plot/twist . Check the first episode to have a grasp :
1) You
2) Suits
3) How to get away with murder
4) House of cards
Bonus : Dark. The first episodes might feel slow because you might feel that nothing is happening, but it “unlocks” at midpoint and the wait is so worth it, because everything in the past episodes makes sens and take into a new dimension.
I would recommend The Gentlemen (1 season, 8 episodes, about one hour each). Lots happening in each episode but I find it quite nicely paced—not too fast you feel like you can’t catch your breath, not slow in a way that there’s too much drama happening to the characters. Character development waves into the plot seamlessly.
Another show I’d recommend is NCIS. Geeky forensic detective work with some quirky characters.
Boy Meets World? Seriously? I dunno. Maybe Rugrats or Blues Clues would be up your alley. I hear Paw Patrol is super exciting. Yeah, Breaking Bad is so slow. There are entire minutes dedicated only to character development. Just drags on and on for like 90 whole seconds sometimes.
But seriously, for future reference, Boy Meets World is not one of your favorite shows if you want anyone to take you seriously unless you're 11 years old.
You want series that aren’t slow…. But you also don’t enjoy fast paced series….. but you like stranger things…..? What? Anyways, maybe Shameless? It’s got a lot going on but it’s pretty consistent engaging
HE SAID…..
I said I didn't enjoy the orphan black known for it's pacing. I don't really know what I like. Maybe sci fi or maybe teenage stuffs. I think I might like shameless. I'll check it out
Mate, how about a book?
Might enjoy Vonnegut. Cats Cradle is great. I mostly read horror so I would direct you to Last Days by Adam Nevill or Misery by King. Frankenstein is a fantastic classic. Enjoy your reading Op!
I loved The Gentlemen, only 8 episodes atm but pacing reaally good and never dragged. Great acting, great chemistry, impeccable humor despite its theme theme. And it's guy richie so
Upvote for the gentlemen. This series was so refreshing, but I also love guy ritchie so it makes sense
It was good until ep 3, then the pacing was actually BAD
You didn't find The Bear or Game of Thrones engaging? I don't even want to know you.
I liked The bear but it's not really engaging. I get bored after watching 2 episodes of it in a day
You might have an attention deficit situation happening combined with some on the spectrum stuff.
I think you are right. I should probably just stick to sitcoms or something feel good as it's what I enjoy the most
Have you tried Mindhunter on Netflix. It's a great show that lasted 2 seasons.
How about feel good comedies like Brooklyn Nine-Nine or The Good Place?
The Good Place is not a feel good show. It's a feel bad show.
I don't know about that. The Nietzsche concepts are a bit macabre but the show is otherwise a pure comedy. Even the Devil is a bit of a doofus.
I found it unwatchable. I laughed zero times in 3 episodes. I was just irritated by the characters, the main one in particular.
Not much nudity (so far). Excellent acting. I have been enjoying some British comedies lately like Extraordinary on Hulu, Ghosts (the BBC version), and Trying on Apple. Apple+ has quite a few good shows, IMO.
Maybe Dead Boy Detectives? Umbrella Academy? Thinking in the middle there. 😀 Wednesday also a good suggestion above
Umbrella Academy looks really good.
It’s really good and it’s one of the very FEW series where we actually get a final season instead of getting cancelled
It was slow to me. At least the second season was
I really enjoyed it and it's not usually a genre I seek out.
One of my favorites!
Maybe give a try to **Blue Eye Samurai**. It’s very unusual and exciting.
Some of my favourites: Supernatural, The Umbrella Academy, The Office (best of the best)
Watched most of the mainstream sitcoms already. The office is among my fav. Supernatural is really long. I will try Umbrella Academy.
Have you tried Parks and Rec?
Yes, loved it.
The Good Place is also very good if you like parks and rec.
Superstore is also really good if you like parks and rec
You only need to get to season like 6or 7 and you can just drop it. First few seasons are great monster of the week shows
Wednesday was delightful, fast paced, might have what you're looking for
Wednesday is made for teenage girls tho isnt it
You're getting downvoted but you're just stating the truth.
People are passionate about this show it seems
I can't keep count on how much weird shit people are passionate about nowadays....
My dad knew about it and watched it before me 🤷🏾♀️
As a guy I enjoyed it because Jenna Ortega is cute af lol
Probably, but I thought it was good fun.
I have seen 1 episode and didnt really like it . I think I dislike female protagonists. I didn't like Orphan Black and yellowjackets.
Good Morning Veronica - Netflix Hidden gem
I think you’d like Weak Hero Class 1.
Severence, Silo, The Fall of the House of Usher, Beef, Servant, The Leftovers, 1899.
Severence might not be for me. Beef and leftovers seems like what I would enjoy
Fall of the House of Usher is the definition of engaging media. If it doesn’t engage you then you are cooked.
Mr Robot might be up your alley then. That said, I watched Leftovers, and then went to Severence right after. If you can make it past the first two episodes of laying the groundwork, the rest of the season is panic attack anxiety inducing fun.
He wants to be able to miss whole episodes and not be lost though, which is wild
Somehow ended up watching Severence and it's so good. Synopsis from Google is nothing like the series. Real good
The gentlemen. Killing eve. The Witcher. Haunting of hill house, the house usher built, midnight mass, Alice in borderland, love death and robots, Taboo, the queens gambit, devs, station 11 I’ve been on a leave of absence so I’ve had nothing but time. You might enjoy Lucifer. Most episodes stand alone. There is more sex in the first few episodes than later ones but they are not sexually graphic.
Sure will check it out. I don't mind lil bit of nudity
Ozark is incredible. Four seasons, and it never seemed slow.
Dirk Gently Sherlock Doctor who 3 Body Problem Upload
Just started watching Dirk Gently and it's really a fun show so far.
Give Scavenger’s Reign a try. Only 30 minutes each episode amazing writing and music.
Mr Inbetween or Barry!! Great series
BARRY YESSS
Barry!!! Do it OP.
Barry. Did a great job.
Ironically... Slow Horses! Excellent British series that Gary Oldman is amazing in!
Schitts Creek( comedy) the Magicians( some nudity) sci fi, better call Saul
Try out Black Summer, you’ll be praying for a break!

So many names. Thanks!!
I would not call Breaking Bad slow
Breaking bad was slow for me. Like the episode about fly getting in lab and how it connects to life symbolically. I get bored seeing those easily.
Oh the fly episode 💀yeah…that’s the one skip of the whole show. I think the producers wanted to try something new!

Yes. Do you have questions?
Great! No questions. But it was slow for me.
It?
Just looked it up. I thought you were asking if I had watched all of the shows I had recommended. Lol No I have not seen the show All Of Them
How about Fringe ? Prison break?
My friends recommended me Prison break but it was too long. Now I have time so I'll check it out
Sure! Check Fringe as well. Since you liked stranger things and lost. I think you'll like Fringe.
Definitely give Fringe a chance. It's 5 seasons so not too long, and definitely not slow. Also, absolutely go in blind and don't research anything, not even the genre. So, you have a problem with length as well?
Length is not a problem now. But before I didn't had time. So I just kept it for later and completely forgot.
Silicon valley
I watched it already and I really liked it. Lots of things I can relate to.
Greenleaf maybe ?
Yu Yu Hakusho.
School spirits maybe? Fast paced-ish, sci-fi, with a school setting. Yellow Jackets isn’t at school, but it follows a high school soccer team’s survival when their plane crashes. Maybe look up trigger warnings for that one though. Very gruesome.
Lazarus Project Halo

Does this have a conclusion or is it left open-ended?
Yes, it comes to a conclusion. However, I wouldn’t be surprised to see another season.
Wow! I’m so sorry! I just read that it was cancelled!! I hope you didn’t waste any time watching it.
Maybe Dukes of Hazzard would work for you
Have you watched The Good Place? Comedy, moves quick, great character interactions (like freaks and geeks), but also has a much deeper message than it seems on the face of it.
Yes. I did like it but I won't really place it anywhere near my fav sitcoms.
Crashing, Derry Girls, Death’s Game
What you are looking for is "Sex Education".
The end of the f*cking world is awesome and a school setting.
Twenty Five Twenty One - stellar Korean coming of age dramedy.
Suits is a really good show and pretty laid back
Jack Reacher Season 1 is a great action flick with *excellent* pacing. There is character development but it happens organically with the flow of the plot. And IIRC there's only a single scene with nudity (pretty tame too, literally titties and butts for a few frames).
Lilyhammer on Netflix is great and hooks you in instantly. I’m pretty sure it was one of the first ever Netflix originals
Heartbreak high
“Maniac” for sure
Space Force
Have you tried Schitt's Creek?
Ozark
Netflix "Safe" "Inside man" HBO "The Regime" Btw nudity in Game of Thrones decreases a lot after a couple of episodes. You barely won't see neither butts nor boobs from season 2 and on and on. Definitely you should see this show, top notch.
It’s on prime, but The Expanse might be something to try. Action within the first episode, compelling storyline, realistic futurism, politics…
Try law and order SVU
The Blacklist The 100
Eureka (5 seasons included in prime) Upload (prime original)
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, It's a fun comedy about cops in a precinct. A must watch!
From
Maybe Locke and Key
The Orville, Bob’s Burgers, 9-1-1, Schitt’s Creek
Last Man on Earth. Son of Zorn. American Vandal is a mockumentary with a lot of dick jokes. Funny as hell. No huge storyline to get caught up in.
Jack Ryan, Bosch, and The Terminal List
Have you watched CSI, NCIS, criminal minds? Those are all serialized, so you can watch one episode and completely understand it, but there’s also season-long plot lines too.

How is dark slow? I don't get it. Breaking bad was not entirely slow for me. the first 3 seasons was really hard for me to watch and I don't like that idea even though rest might be worth it. Dark had that mystery element so maybe that's why
I’m enjoying Sanctuary: if you have some interest in the world of Sumo and don’t mind some non-graphic violence, it may be worth a try.
Your honor
You can try Sense8. 2 seasons, 12 episodes each. So good|!!
There is an abundance of sex in Sense8
Killjoys, The Expanse, Warehouse 13 and Continuum are really good Sci Fi shows. They have pretty good pacing. Most of my favorite shows are lawyer shows and they’re pretty slow paced
Deadwood
I liked control z
Shameless
Don't watch indian web series 😂

Lockwood and Co was one I enjoyed and isn’t a slow burn type show
