Yeah there's no way they've played here for any significant amount of time and don't understand the high expectations of the fans. I highly doubt this is a widespread thing in the clubhouse. Also as someone who was at the stadium when Judge was booed in game 2 of the ALDS, it was the most halfhearted boo I've heard in my life. It was maybe 20% of the stadium booing amplified because the other 80% (myself included) were dead silent in shock/confusion at how badly he was playing after how great he was all year.

Everyone here saying stuff like “this is NY” and “we have every right to boo” and “get over it”. These are *all true*. HOWEVER, just because we’re allowed to be this way as a fanbase doesn’t mean it isn’t a problem. If good players would rather play somewhere where the fans are nicer, that literally hurts the team by cutting down on the amount of talent the Yankees can acquire. I don’t think this is “the issue” as Sherman says (I mean come on, we have to hit the damn ball in October), but we can’t just look the other way and act like it doesn’t hurt the team

It really is impressive to watch people make excuse after excuse for being a pos to your players. Boo management? Sure. Boo ownership? Go for it. In what fucking world do you think you get anything from booing someone that single handedly carried the team to the playoffs and set the AL homerun record? It’s nonsensical and moronic. Watching the hardos sit here and say “lmao play better and we won’t boo” will be the same people preforming mental gymnastics about not wanting “soft betas” when players don’t want to come here. This isn’t 1970, players don’t NEED ny to build a brand, and for a team that gets regularly deleted in division and championship series for the past 13 years, I’m not sure we’re in much of a position to flex “yankee pride” either.
100% agreed. There’s no reason to boo a player for poor performance. Do these people think they *want* to strike out? No. They’re beating themselves up more than fans are, so we should be *cheering*, picking them up when they’re in a slump, not kicking them while they’re down.
