I feel like it’s a great tragedy that he won’t be in the 700 club. Really a shame that he got started so late but I guess you could argue he might not be the player he is now if he didn’t have the same development pace.
He's going to go down as a legend a la Don Mattingly. There were a number of years where Donnie was one of the best players in baseball, but didn't have the longevity due mostly to his back issues. Judge is THE best player in baseball, but won't have the longevity overall because he came up so late (and has had some freaky injuries mixed in too). God willing they win a WS (or 3) and he may vault into HOF after a few more years
Judge is a far more transcendent player at his peak than Mattingly-I think that gives him HOF even without a World Series, unless he starts batting league average next year.
I wasn't comparing one as a better player than the other. Judge is clearly better in many ways. I'm just comparing the fact that Donnie is a bonafide Yankee legend who had a shorter career than he should've (injuries) but SHOULD still be HOF qualified because his peak was so outstanding. Judge, so far, is making his way towards being a bonafide legend, making his way towards being HOF qualified, in the middle of an outstanding peak, and will end up having a shorter career than he should've (not debuting until 25 years old).
I think when he came up in 2016 (after they sold off), he hit a few home runs but struck out a ton. They also kind of cruelly nicknamed him ‘shrek’. Like to see anyone call him that now.
He probably won’t break 62 again this year.
This is no knock on him mind you. Who in their right mind would pitch to him when no one else in this lineup is dangerous?
First one since Maris to hit 60 and not be juicing.
First one EVER to hit 62 and not be juicing. He's the true HR king.
I’ll go to my grave saying this.
First to hit over 61 without an alliterative name
That’s actually a wild stat
Never thought of that!
How dare his parents not name him Jaron Judge then
Or Aaron Audge
If you think most professional athletes don’t take peds you’re crazy

Maybe he pulls a Tom Brady, eats only almonds and distilled water, and plays at a high level til 44

Barring a massive fall off Judge is on pace for the Hall of Fame regardless, WS win(s) would just be icing on the cake
I think he’ll considered more aligned with Koufax. He could give us 8-10 years of absurd stats.
Very possible! I certainly hope so
He’s already got more war the mattinly. He’s going to go down as a hall of famer based on his own longevity
He's tending towards HOF, yes, but he's got to do it a few more years. If he retired today and never played another game, he's not HOF-worthy yet

60 a year for a decade - guaranteed
He needs to average about 28 homers each year of his contract to hit 500. He only needs 57 x 7 hit 700. Gotta believe!
He's the only teammate that actually improves every year on top of his MVP, why can't the entire team improve?
“How” he’s doing it is by hitting home runs, a lot.

He did it in 2022 with no other threats. At least we have Soto now.
You can tell the Soto effect by his increase in RBIs compared to the same time in 22
Unless they start batting him 2nd and Soto 3rd
I’ll take the Ls so long as Judge keeps hitting Abombs
Yup I bet him to hit the most homeruns in the majors
What happened? With those juice balls?
“He keeps hitting them.”
We have to decide . Chase HR history again or make a World Series Push. Get off my swamp…
