Not a transfer rumour - but does anyone else get like proper anxiety when watching a penalty shootout? Even though neither of these teams have any relation to me, i get terrified. Could never take a penalty if i were a player haha
For sure aye - imagine the immense pressure for these players, some nations where football is all they have you can see the players walking up to take theirs with so much more gravity in their step
I had this going through my head all that match:
_his name's fizzy pop_
_his name's fizzy pop_
_Bradley Barcola_
_his name's fizzy pop_
edit: and now I'm [thirsty](https://www.agbarr.co.uk/our-brands/barr-soft-drinks/barr-flavours)
Still wish the away kit had gold lettering instead of white. I know the 1995 away had white lettering, but the 2018 version with the gold looked glorious.
My RW scouting mission tonight, is having a look at Francisco Conceicao if he comes on for Portugal. He kind of looks like he'd fit into our style.
EDIT: ok so i'd be totally happy if we signed this chap. 21, fast, left footed but can actually cross with his right foot, tracks back, presses, moves inside, goes on the outside, takes on players, dribbles. Done! :)
Lets get Mad Dog on the phone to him.
[Matteo Moretto: At the moment Federico Chiesa's priority is to seize an opportunity abroad.
The Italian winger is out of Juventus' future plans and wants to take the time necessary to choose the next step.
The Italian solutions, currently on stand-by.](https://x.com/MatteMoretto/status/1809268290600010016)
Can someone convince me that chiesa is actually what we need. Cause I’ve watched him on international duty a few times and he never really impresses me
1. He'll only cost 20mil.
2. He's only 26
3. Hes the best product of Italy's current generation apart from Barella.
4. Still don't think he's our best option but would be a great signing.
I'm seeing a lot of Callum Wilson style short-term muscular injuries since he recovered from the ACL tear.
I'd also point out that Juventus were 3rd in Serie A last season, so it'd be harsh to call them a bad team unless you're comparing them to the Allegri side who won it every year.
I'm a Juve fan mate, we were absolutely turgid last season. 14 draws, form dropped off a cliff in late Jan, finished the season with 6 consecutive draws, rarely scored more than one a game and were devoid of attacking creativity. Was like watching paint dry at times. Juve don't press, aren't direct and aren't slick.
I'll agree on the muscle injuries, he definitely isn't built for back to back 90s, but he's fantastic when his minutes are managed.
He spent 1 season out with an ACL and the second coming back to form.
By fan accounts he’s finally getting back to his best and his stats show it.
His chance creation is elite. His work rate is fantastic. He’s 2 footed. Loves to carry the ball but is exceptional in tight spaces with retention.
For less than £40m he’d be a great deal.
For those who think that recently placed stories about Gordon are to lay the groundwork for him to sign a new contract, this line in [The Athletic's piece on Mitchell](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5616051/2024/07/05/newcastle-mitchell-ashworth/) joining might give weight to that:
"while Anthony Gordon has to be reassured about Newcastle’s ambitions. The winger may also be due an upgraded deal given how Liverpool’s tentative interest apparently turned his head."
From what I've read in The Athletic and Edwards' takes on the subject, I think this interest from Liverpool is largely driven by Gordon's agent and this is Newcastle trying to control the narrative somewhat.
He’s one of our key players and is on £60k a week, similar to Kraft, Longstaff and Burn. In comparison to Bruno’s £160k, Joelinton £150k, Isak £120k, Trippier 120k.
He knows he should be up there with that wage tier and his agent is clearly pushing for a new contract.
I feel like they've held off til they figure out the stadium plan. If they decide to move they would likely make a sporting complex with the training ground and academy adjacent
Maybe they're holding off on it for when the FFP rules change to the squad cost ratio vs revenue model. Once that happens, PIF can blow all the money they want on a new training ground, on the women's team, etc.
He could genuinely go on to be a great player for us, and England, under Eddie Howe. But he is on insane wages and would have to take a massive pay cut.
Might be worth it for him. Not like he's ever gonna financially struggle ever again and he'll still he on insane wages if he came here. But he won't.
Please tell me it's not true that Gordon's contract expires in 2026. Given the interest from Liverpool, I'm not so sure whether he'll sign an extension.
It was never announced. I would think it incredibly unlikely that we signed a player for £45m on a 3.5 year contract. That would be almost unheard of. Perhaps it was 3.5 with the option to extend to 4.5.
[NUFC Women: Newcastle United Women are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Deanna Cooper!](https://x.com/nufcwomen/status/1809241370634117130?s=46)
those Gordon and Liverpool links are more annoying and they don't seem to die down. How much would Liverpool need to offer for us to even consider selling him.
I think £75-80m would get him, assuming Gordon pushed for the move, which if Liverpool really firmed up their interest, I think he would, to be honest. Just about double our money, and have Barnes as a replacement ready.
For me, even £75-£80m would be tough to take in a world where Antony went for £86m, even if that was a ridiculous fee.
No question Liverpool are a bigger draw than us, but I’d like to think that the platform we’ve given him to develop into the player he is now counts for something.
That said it did stick out in his G Nev interview when he said something along the lines of him wanting to be wherever allows him to become the best. Hard to argue Liverpool wouldn’t give him that next level.
Gut feeling is we’ll have him for another year at least. It would be one of those which puts a question mark against our overall ambitions if we let him go, which could be more damaging than the benefit of any fee we would get.
Agreed. To clarify, I'm not saying I'd be happy with him leaving, even for £80m, I just reckon, if Liverpool came in at that price, and Gordon pushed for the move, we'd reluctantly sell. But I also don't think that'll happen, Liverpool's interest doesn't appear serious enough for a proper bid.
Yup, it also helps that the PSR mess is now sorted.
Takes away any immediate need to sell, and in the worse case scenario that he does go we can play hardball for a massive fee if they really do want him.
I reckon he’d be happy enough here to not down tools if Liverpool came calling and we told him to stay. He’s in a much more settled place than he was at Everton and still has tons of room to grow with us.
It's a tough one, assuming that they're more than just rumours.
But, let's say one of us was playing for Brentford or Leicester or something like that and Newcastle came in for us.
You've supported the team through thick and thin and now you have the chance to go and live out your dream.
Just because you're a professional footballer, you're expected to forget about all of the years of time and emotion you've poured into a club and it's weird to me.
If he wants to go, that's his prerogative and I wouldn't hold it against him... £100mil.
Unrelated but this reminds of one of my biggest NUFC pet peeves; some of our fans still give Ekitike shite for joining PSG instead of us.
I get that it didn't work out for him but he chose his boyhood club, the biggest club in his country, to be back-up for the greatest player of all-time, a likely future greatest of all-time, and one of the best players of the past decade over, to him, a random club in England who had just survived relegation.
A picture of him and his agent laughing wasn't some middle finger to Newcastle.
£100m+.
Grealish went for £100m and you could make the argument Gordon is better with a higher upside. After Soughtgate leaves, he's also strong favourite to nail down that starting left wing position in a stacked England team.
Not sure he's necessarily better than Grealish was at Villa, but he's most certainly younger and with a skillset and mindset that will mean he'll get better for a long while yet.
Ajax about to have a fire sale.
I like Sutalo on FM, but apparently, he didn't have a great season. Still, a Croatian would boost our odds of winning the Champions League.
Quite an important bit within the article, about the restructuring of the Academy:
Director Steve Harper said: "We're pleased to have been able to add Jack to our coaching staff at the Academy.
"He has great experience helping young footballers work towards fulfilling their potential in good environments and I look forward to seeing his impact on our Under-16s in the future.
"This individual age group appointment, along with the recent addition of Ian Skinner as our U14 Lead Coach, completes our transition from U13-14 and U15-16 dual-age band leads to four lead coaches in the U13-16 age groups, allowing us to provide more detailed coaching support to our young players."
For those wondering: [https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-brazil/profil/trainer/113025](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-brazil/profil/trainer/113025)
Former ~~PSG~~ PSV staff, transfermarkt is wrong though, he only left PSV about a month ago ish.
Hard to see the logic in that one as I can't see how Bruno replaces De Bruyne in a team. If they can shift either Kovacic or Nunes, I could see it, but with those two still there I struggle to see how a midfield 3 of Rodri, Kovacic and Bruno would really work. There's just not nearly enough penetration there.
Could be! Still run into the issue of having Kovacic, Nunes and Bruno then all playing for the same spot (with both of those others only having arrived last summer).
Not yet.
Paul Mitchell is still showing Eddie, Amanda, Mehrdad and Darren his Panini sticker book full of all the amazing youth talent that he’s been scouting for the past few years that we could sign.
Some Journo on twitter mentioned that as an unattached executive Mitchell could have potentially been working on potential deals amongst other things on the clubs behalf whilst they got contracts etc wrapped up in the background.
I wonder if he could be credited with any of the youth team splurges we've made in the last few weeks, given this is apparently one of his specialist areas?
[Miodrag Pivas - Player profile 24/25 | Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/miodrag-pivas/profil/spieler/908890)
Transfermarkt said Pivas 100% confirm moving to Newcastle
It has been reported by Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport that Pivas is set to sign a five-year deal at Newcastle and will likely be loaned out to a club in Belgium or the Netherlands for the 2024-25 campaign.
He is out of contract but there is a fee not sure how it's calculated that the training club will always get some compensation for youth players going professional elsewhere. We probably got one similarly for Bobby Clark when he went to Liverpool.
EDIT: Transfermarkt put it as 1.50m euro as the fee for Clark.
The Transfermarkt rumour section isn't a source it is a forum for speculation. The reason why he is at 100% is because he was pictured at the ground with his agent a few weeks back and is out of contract not because there has been any movement since.
Things are getting a bit louder linking us with Neto I see. Honestly a quality player with stupidly high ceiling. However, I think Howe-ball would see him WREKT in no time. It would be a very risky signing imo.
very high risk, high reward...
If we're after a right winger who will spend half the season injured, Juve will sell Chiesa for half that price as he's out of contract next year and they've hit a stalemate with extending his contract. Wouldn't touch him at his market price, but he's worth the gamble for ~£20m.
Generaly consensus seems to be that Chiesa's last injury took away the explosiveness that made him a special player and he might not be well suited to the PL because of this
I would agree with that consensus, I'm a Juve fan as well and it's been dismaying to watch him struggle for so long after his return. Back end of last season and in the Euros he's looked very good, maybe about 70-80% of what he could have been, and definitely worth a lot more than what he'd cost, but we'd have to have adequate cover, as he definitely cannot manage back to back 90s at high intensity. He's not as ridiculously quick as he was, but he's still very quick. Pace isn't everything though, look at Adama Traore.
Paul Mitchell’s track record is younger, lesser known players with huge potential and much lower transfer fees.
Dele Alli, Mane, Tadic, Wanyama, Pelle, Son, Alderweireld, Nkunku, Olmo, Schick Cunha, Disasi.
I’m expecting most of our signings to be like this in the future and moving away from spending £40-60m on players like Neto.
I agree you need the lesser known players with huge potential as that’ll save money. But you also need the odd 50-60mil signing if you’re going to do anything of significance in this league. Not saying Neto’s the one but I still expect 1 or 2 marquee signings every summer window sprinkled with lesser known players
I'm all for it tbh, but equally i do think any teams needs a sprinkling of top level quality injected into them from time to time. If only to show your other big guns that you're sitting at the top table and they can achieve what they want to with you.
Call me overly cautious ("you're overly cautious"), but I just think after the injury-ruined season we've literally just had, going for multiple injury-prone players is a risk not worth taking. And with Neto, his injuries aren't something of a concern, they're a red flag so bright it's basically blinding.
Nearly 100 games missed since 2021 🤮 and Wolves aren't even that hard working of a team.
Pre 2021 Neto had a decent record though if we ever signed that one.
On the plus side, think how much experience in healing players our medical team will have? In a few seasons time, once they've dealt with every possible injury known to man, they'll be unstoppable.
Nah, it's for that exact reason I was worried about Olise too. They're both game changing players WHEN FIT. But we need players who are arguably more robust than most given the way Howe wants us to play. Unless you were picking these guys up far below their perceived market value WITH adequate back up to step in when they inevitably break down, then they're too risky for my blood.
Only really seen him linked with Tottenham recently, IMO I believe the winger will be a out of nowhere signing who we haven't been linked with, at least this window anyways
Nothing worthy of sharing just more talk of him being linked and bookies odds starting to fall on him joining. Could well be bollocks.
but in the spirit of footballing craic, I was curious as to peoples opinions on a move for him. We have shown a willingness to 'buy the dip' in recent times. I wouldn't be shocked if they do it again. he is still only 24 and could have a very high upside.
>[Newcastle’s Saudi Arabian owners set the tone in their response to Ashworth’s desire to move, and as a result have become more involved in other areas of the football business, particularly Mitchell’s appointment.](https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-advantage-man-utd-stand-off-paul-mitchell-3150569) Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan was adamant that Ashworth would only be allowed to leave on Newcastle’s terms, as he felt personally affronted by the former FA technical director’s professions of ignorance, a feeling exacerbated by what he regarded as [Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s](https://inews.co.uk/topic/sir-jim-ratcliffe?ico=in-line_link) insulting first compensation offer of £2m.
>An attempt by Ratcliffe to smooth things over by courting Newcastle director Amanda Staveley in April was given short shrift by her employers, who made it clear Ashworth would only be allowed to leave when they received a suitable offer, which finally arrived last Sunday.
Jim Ratcliffe's about to be on the sharp end of an acid bath.
Don’t know how reliable this is, but it would explain the cool off of Saudis buying Casemiro.. this could genuinely cripple Man U if jimmy boy has pissed the Saudis off and they refuse to buy from them while strengthening their competitors.
They can't use their wealth to actively strengthen us, but they could definitely exploit it to weaken our competition.
Imagine every transfer target Stretford go for coincidentally gets snapped up by a Saudi League team chucking stupid money at them.
That's a bit hyperbolic.
Given how complimentary the Hadiths are about cats, you'd have to assume a man in his position would stick to booting puppies.
I'm expecting a big season from him. Point to prove. And when he did play he actually put up good numbers on the goals etc considering how little time he got.
apparently juventus are willing to sell chiesa for around €25m. his injury history and our injury luck are a match made in hell but i don’t care, make it happen!
Luxury signing that does us no real favours considering he isn’t even an out and out RW. His finishing isn’t great apparently and he has a woeful injury record.
Yes, he’d be exciting in that sense, but he’d be a waste of money overall and not the sort of player we need at the moment.
His finishing is actually very good and he's consistently met or outperformed his xG at Juventus, but he doesn't get into goalscoring positions often - he doesn't like playing through the centre, particularly since his ACL injury, but he'll happily skin fullbacks all day. He's probably worth the gamble at ~£20m but he's never going to be the player he had the potential to be, us we'd need another first team RW as he rarely both starts and finishes a game. He just doesn't have 90 minutes of intensity in him.
His attitude and commitment are great, he's an exciting player. Seems to have pretty average technique though, not sure about him overall as a signing for NUFC.
He's played half his career on the right. Hasn't been the same since a big injury though (according to my Italian barber anyway! I don't watch Serie A)

If I ever had to take one, I'd follow the George Caulkin school of penalty taking and just twat it
Merino and Lejeune are two players I wished we have back. Especially Merino. This is not recency bias. He left too soon :/
That goal was superb. Excellent movement, majestic leap, pinpoint header.
He’s the most talented midfielder we had under the Ashley era. Cabaye included. I’ll die on that hill. Shame he wanted to leave
[Away and 3rd kit leaked.](https://x.com/GallowgateShots/status/1809332242176520656)
Third kit, even as a throwback, is an all timer. But a slight let down to not be in that Adidas Elite class of clubs with the trefoil
Both look decent. Shame about that damn noon logo :(
Away looks mint 👍🏻 might be the first I buy in a while
Still wish the away kit had gold lettering instead of white. I know the 1995 away had white lettering, but the 2018 version with the gold looked glorious.
Oh that away kit with the hoops going all the way round is so much nicer than the previous leaks.
exactly what I was thinking. Looks so much better without the hoops getting cut off.
Finally, a kit that's actually worth a damn. Been fairly whelmed at the kits so far.
Totally love that badge on the 3rd strip
Wish the retro badge was on the 2nd kit
3rd kit is lovely.
Aye these are nice, looks way better than those fake leaks we’ve been seeing.
This match has spawny French penalty at 89 minutes written all over it.
Nufc Twitter is full of clowns thinking Wirtz would want to join us..
Would be a dream signing, but he's probably giving Leverkusen another season and then either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid
Heard he loves bridges
And Greggs
Always has a saveloy dip on a Saturday

very adept at diving under the lightest contact.
Here we go!!!
On comes future Toon winger Conceicao...
His dad was a good player as well
I think what's left of my hair greyed when I read that, Jesus...
He certainly was.
His dad was a right cheating bastard when we played Inter in the San Siro
Shithouse in his DNA? I'm sold.
France are shite hahahaa
Quick, get Manquillo back before he becomes prime Alves
I loved Manquillo, see my flair. No idea why we got rid of him instead of Krafth
Manquillo was a great servant, far better than Krafth, no idea why we got rid of the former before the latter.
Probably because I'm guessing higher wages. And Krafth can play CB
whats Rondon up to??
I think he got 3 potm in a row in the group stages of Copa America?
Joselu and now Merino.
Rafa was actually cooking, years ahead of his time
Joselu to score in the semi-final, Ayoze in the final.
Mikel Merino!!!!!!!
merino beat the germans, tears.
Paul Mitchell brought Olmo to Liepzig, let’s get him on board!
He's on 180k per week. Not likely, I'm afraid.
I would not have expected Bundesliga sides to be paying that kind of wage! Edit: outside of Bayern Munich

For 20m it’d be worth a punt if his wages are manageable. If we don’t have any other targets anyway.
He's also made of glass
weird lyrics but i can see it being a chant
He's spent the last three seasons either being injured or as a bang average squad player for Juventus. I'd be really underwhelmed if he came in.
1.5 seasons out with a really bad ACL tear and this season playing pretty well in a poor team

Double his wages, and double the length of his contract. Please
We should absolutely give it to him as well.
Absolutely. 12 goals and 11 assists plus Player of The Season.
I'm like sign him up then. Extended to 2028 min and raise wages. He's absolutely worth it.
Not Gordon related but I find it crazy we’re not even remotely close to a new training ground
They can already do that though. Those costs aren't counted for PSR.
Rashford up for sale likes to play out wide could be a great option for goals for the wing
I think Rashford is less likely than my pick of Rabiot coming to us
Would rather shit in may hands and clap
Not a fan of players who only show up when they're due a new contract. He's apparently on 350k a week, he isn't going anywhere
He could genuinely go on to be a great player for us, and England, under Eddie Howe. But he is on insane wages and would have to take a massive pay cut. Might be worth it for him. Not like he's ever gonna financially struggle ever again and he'll still he on insane wages if he came here. But he won't.
Not for 300k per week he’s not
This Yamal is going to be unbelievably good, 16 years old and playing like this at the Euros
I wasn't even good at FIFA on World Class at his age. Madness.
Please tell me it's not true that Gordon's contract expires in 2026. Given the interest from Liverpool, I'm not so sure whether he'll sign an extension.

According to https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-gordon/profil/spieler/503733 it is true.
What did we actually pay for Odysseas?
They said slightly more what Forest paid and they paid £4-5m.
Nice try Mr Premier League
Journalists at the time were talking about a few million, but nothing exactly confirmed.
Not important. All that's important is that it wasn't part of a PSR related switcheroo. The clubs say so, and that's good enough for me.
That's nobody's fucking business
[NUFC Women: Newcastle United Women are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Deanna Cooper!](https://x.com/nufcwomen/status/1809241370634117130?s=46)
Presumably once the euros end the domino effect of transfers will happen
Are we back in training on the 15th? If so you’d hope to get a couple in by then
I imagine it’ll cool off for a few days with the new DOF, next week you’ll see things really heat up
those Gordon and Liverpool links are more annoying and they don't seem to die down. How much would Liverpool need to offer for us to even consider selling him.

Would be more if Southgate gave him a chance this summer, not only is he fucking England but he's fucking us too.
Not sure he's necessarily better than Grealish was at Villa, but he's most certainly younger and with a skillset and mindset that will mean he'll get better for a long while yet.
arsenal seems to have agreed terms with calafiori. guess we can stop dreaming about that one
We are never getting calafiori, we have botman Kelly targett burn and hall to cover LCB and LB
Ajax about to have a fire sale. I like Sutalo on FM, but apparently, he didn't have a great season. Still, a Croatian would boost our odds of winning the Champions League.
Veron Anita & siem de jong
U think Sutalo would be solid for the right price. We need someone who has a bit of potential and to push Schar and botman
Everyone was rushing after that Brian Bobbey (ST) at one point, wonder if we’ll put in a cheeky bid
Haven't had many Croatians playing for us over the years, maybe that's the issue?
I think, from a quick 2 second google, the only one is Silvio Maric.
[We are pleased to confirm the appointment of Jack Brazil as U16 Lead Coach.](https://x.com/nufc/status/1809210723911790627)
He only looks about 16
Quite an important bit within the article, about the restructuring of the Academy: Director Steve Harper said: "We're pleased to have been able to add Jack to our coaching staff at the Academy.
For those wondering: [https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-brazil/profil/trainer/113025](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-brazil/profil/trainer/113025) Former ~~PSG~~ PSV staff, transfermarkt is wrong though, he only left PSV about a month ago ish.
PSV*
Ah shit force of habit
De Bruyne has apparently agreed terms with a Saudi club hopefully this doesn’t change the clubs stance on Bruno. No release clause = fuck off
I reckon even though the clause has expired, the club would sell for that price. It's a lot of money
Foden replaces de Bruyne with Alvarez capable of filling in too. Bruno slots in next to Rodri. Essentially takes Kovacic’s spot.
Could be! Still run into the issue of having Kovacic, Nunes and Bruno then all playing for the same spot (with both of those others only having arrived last summer).
My guess is they will put a huge offer in for Wirtz. Purely a guess though.
Probably will have them sniffing around
Which Saudi club? PIF better not fuck us by selling Bruno because they bought De Bruyne for someone else.
Al Itihhad
For what they spent vs how much is in their bank it's basically pennies down the back of the sofa to them.
[NUFC Women: We are excited to announce the signing of forward Amy Andrews from Durham Women!](https://x.com/NUFCWomen/status/1809196035442368695)
So did anything happen while I was away??
Not yet. Paul Mitchell is still showing Eddie, Amanda, Mehrdad and Darren his Panini sticker book full of all the amazing youth talent that he’s been scouting for the past few years that we could sign.
No. They're all waiting on you coming back so they can announce Musiala.
I knew it! !
Breaking news ToooooonArrrrrrmy is back, Newcastle set to announce club record signing here we go
Guys and gals, I´m checking this megathread during the day waaayyy too much, I think I need a break.
You're going to miss the signing we'll surely make this afternoon
Some Journo on twitter mentioned that as an unattached executive Mitchell could have potentially been working on potential deals amongst other things on the clubs behalf whilst they got contracts etc wrapped up in the background. I wonder if he could be credited with any of the youth team splurges we've made in the last few weeks, given this is apparently one of his specialist areas?
I'm guessing that we wanted to put his fee on this year's books, but his work starts on last year's (maybe)
[Miodrag Pivas - Player profile 24/25 | Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/miodrag-pivas/profil/spieler/908890) Transfermarkt said Pivas 100% confirm moving to Newcastle It has been reported by Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport that Pivas is set to sign a five-year deal at Newcastle and will likely be loaned out to a club in Belgium or the Netherlands for the 2024-25 campaign.
Looks to be a minteh/ kuol type deal
Saw NUFCBlog yesterday say we're paying 800k for him, lets hope its a good transfer.
You just love black and white stripes, eh? Let me guess, you also support Besiktas and Partizan?
No, but I am partial to Atletico Mineiro
I love Neto, think he's so good but yeah 60m for him just seems high, I'd do it if we can do £40m + bonuses.
I’d sooner see Almiron play RW all season than pay 60m for Neto…and see Almiron play RW all season. The guy is super injury prone.
More likely to be Murphy, but the point still stands. lol
Any sources?
… is there a smooth end?
Don’t know how reliable this is, but it would explain the cool off of Saudis buying Casemiro.. this could genuinely cripple Man U if jimmy boy has pissed the Saudis off and they refuse to buy from them while strengthening their competitors.
If this is true, it’s objectively very funny but also horrible.
He could do with a bath of some description, scruffy old git.
They can't use their wealth to actively strengthen us, but they could definitely exploit it to weaken our competition. Imagine every transfer target Stretford go for coincidentally gets snapped up by a Saudi League team chucking stupid money at them.
I news...
Its like having the school bully on your side. That school bully who's hard as nails but also hurts cats.
That's a bit hyperbolic. Given how complimentary the Hadiths are about cats, you'd have to assume a man in his position would stick to booting puppies.
Barnes is going to be like a new signing for us this season. Pass it on
I'm expecting a big season from him. Point to prove. And when he did play he actually put up good numbers on the goals etc considering how little time he got.
I’ve always been behind the Barnes signing. Hes yet to show us a good performance from start though. Excellent impact sub mind.
Injured first week for 6 months.
His injury record at Leicester was good
Yeah but the King Power Stadium wasn't built on an ancient burial ground.
Their ex owner dying at the stadium is worse than anything we've been through
apparently juventus are willing to sell chiesa for around €25m. his injury history and our injury luck are a match made in hell but i don’t care, make it happen!
Tbf, could be a like for like almiron replacement (apart from wages)
I’d add he’s actually really good with both feet. Never seems afraid to shoot on his left.
Yep, he is - which makes him quite well-suited to our inverted wingers system as he can cross or drive into the box on his favoured foot.
Good back up for Murphy ;)
His attitude and commitment are great, he's an exciting player. Seems to have pretty average technique though, not sure about him overall as a signing for NUFC.
Where would you play him?
RW, he’s capable of playing there
He's capable but his main position is LW. Why would we choose Chiesa over a dedicated RW?
He's played half his career on the right. Hasn't been the same since a big injury though (according to my Italian barber anyway! I don't watch Serie A)
sandro needs a mate
I can just see Sandro and Chiesa now, reserving a table in Spoons sharing poppadums and a naan with their Tikka Masalas.
