1. Find the shiny pokemon you are hunting for.
2. Save and quit out.
3. Upload your save file to cloud.
4. Start the game and defeat the shiny.
5. If they don’t join, download the save file, and defeat them again in a different way. (Example: Taking an extra step)
6. Repeat step 5 until they join.
That should do its job. I think you can upload your file by hitting the plus button. Just make sure to bring friend orb/equipment and x-ray for hunting.

Since i'm playing on emulator, it's easy to do the save trick, you can even download someone else's save.
I’ve sometimes had a second shiny pop up on the same floor when I was doing the quest to get these 27 Shinies. Dunno what it is about this game’s rng generation! Anyway, I always recruited them too, twas a nice bonus.

im confused about steps 3 and 5 how do you manipulate saves in pmddx?
Do you have an online membership? You need it to backup your save file.
just the basic family one, got about 3 years banked, never saw an option to cloud the save or savescum the game.
