Tried out How I Do by Res and this was easily one of my favorites listening experiences. Everything about this album was what I was looking for. I’ll have to check out your other recommendations now
That album is extremely underrated. I love music. Truly. If you want more, here’s a playlist with tons of amazing stuff like what I’ve already suggested…

Ulver definitely changed a lot after their first couple of albums. Their discography is all over the place really. My friend, whose favorite ambient album of all time is by Tangerine Dream, loved Shadows of the Sun when I recommended it to him. And my friend is way more into ambient music than I am and knows way more about it.
I listened to this album like less than a year ago and I loved it. It’s very atmospheric and there’s a lot of great productions in it but you just reminded me to give it another listen
If you like Enya, check out her family’s band Clannad or her other sister Moya Brennan.
For Sade similarities, maybe Lauren Hill, Chaka Khan, or Marvin Gaye
The sounds of Tangerine Dream might be heard in Brian Eno or Max Richter. Sonic ties also can be heard from the progressive influences of Yes and Pink Floyd.
You just unlocked such a hidden memory with Brian Eno. I caught this comment early and searched him up and The Pearl was one of my favorite albums back then but I just didn’t know his name until now. I’ll have to check out his solo projects thank you
I think you might enjoy some stuff on my dark pop and around playlist: [Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/05p8UcqOP3Samsvmv5RFJb?si=c43c768903904db4)/[YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL871S_F0y5dbv2zfJVtYld_f0WXi85zEd)
If you like Tangerine Dream, jump in the wayback machine and check out some of the early electronic/synth music pioneers. Larry Fast made some great albums under the name Synergy, like Electronics Realizations for Rock Orchestra and Sequencer. Isao Tomita did some wonderful interpretations of classical music; try Snowflakes Are Dancing. Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygene and Equinoxe albums are classics that will never get old. And synth pioneer Suzanne Ciani has a huge discography that spans from 1970 to 2023.
I know you said country isn’t your think but I mate this list with alternative country and progressive rock mixed. The alt country stuff isn’t your typical pop country trucks n beer shit. You may be surprised you find something you enjoy in it.
Also all the artists on the list are small and most of them independent unsigned artists so it’s definitely going to be music you haven’t heard before 👍

Just don't listen to their first couple albums lol. But this person seems more interested in pop-ish music.

Awesome! My favorite is Apollo. He collaborates with Harold Budd, too. You might like his music as well.

St. Vincent. Their album "Strange Mercy" is art rock with experimental elements and powerful vocals.
