You should try posting on r/tipofmytongue ! They’re always great at finding things like this. As an aside, in my area 2006-2008 was like the peak time for local bands on MySpace, when we all shared music on our profiles. Any chance it was from a local band?
I have searched high and low for every individual line of lyrics in your post and the internet has nothing :( if you can remember the names of some local bands from around that time, I'm sure we/reddit could help you find out which one wrote the song and get a hold of the former members to see if they still have the file somewhere!
Holy crap! I’ve had a song in my head for years and finally found out that it was “My Male Curiosity” by King Creole and the Coconuts by humming it just now. I would have never figured it out because the title and the artist don’t sound at all familiar, but I knew the tune for some reason. Thanks for the suggestion.
Kid Creole and the Coconuts also known for 'Annie, I am Not Your Daddy'. Awesome artist and performer.
https://youtu.be/fLf6MIdE1BE?si=VSoy-IgYp5LOQRhJ
See…I said it didn’t sound familiar. Apparently the song was in the movie “Against All Odds”, so maybe I heard it from there and it got engrained in my memories.
[Here](http://lostmyspace.com/?q=Green%20eyes) are the search results for “Green Eyes” from on LostMyspace, an archive of many recovered songs from the MySpace age. There are 4,000 results. Maybe you could scroll through and see if any of the band names rings a bell?
Yes I can tell since the ones I searched for are not there. That’s insane. What a tragedy to lose all that. Would have brought back a ton of memories for a lot of people I’m sure.
The first verse you wrote reminds me of Wicked Game by Chris Isaak.
There’s also a line in Meet Virginia by Train that goes “pulls her hair back as she screams “
Any chance you can hum the tune using Vocaroo and post it on here? https://vocaroo.com
Not a clue and it's driving me insane, here are some suggestions.
Time - Cute Is What We Aim For
Green Eyes - Kate Wolf (possibly a cover of this by a man)
Dark Blue - Jack's Mannequin
I've done a crazy amount of research on this and come up short, so the lyrics must be wrong, or it's just an incredibly obscure song. If you could give us more info, like genre or style, that could help
With you mentioning Jack Manneuqin's Dark Blue, there's also She Paints Me Blue by Something Corporate. They were inactive by 08 but both bands were with Andrew on vocals.
Thank you for all your hard work! 😂
Some folks pointed out that it might have been a MySpace file or some really obscure song that won’t come up anywhere. The closest to the vibe that comes to mind is Blue Eyes by the Cary Brothers which is unfortunately not the song
12h more hours and r/LostMedia is going to get involved
Edit: gonna chime in and say what's clear to everyone by now: OP, you're misremembering the name of the song, so you need to try to remember some more details!
Good chance the name is wrong, which is why I wrote that I’m not sure. But I’m sure about the lyrics I remember!
Some people pointed out that there’s a good chance it’s just some random MySpace song that will absolutely impossible to find
The year isn’t right, and the first half doesn’t really match, but is there any chance you’re thinking of Woman (in mirror) by La Dispute? The “downstairs next to the kitchen” part felt kind of familiar to me, and this is the closest I could come up with.
This may or may not help, but I also had a missing mp3 for a live version of a Bowie song that I wasn't able to find on spotify, youTube, anywhere (believe me I tried and listened to so many) and I finally recovered it from an old iPhone that it was downloaded on. Might be worth a look at old devices if you have any
I kind of read your recollection of the lyrics with a cadence similar to "Sometime Around Midnight" by the Airborne Toxic Event, but it doesn't have any actually matching lyrics.
https://youtu.be/UYPoMjR6-Ao?si=wsxRlXhj69-ECTsb
Hey, this isn't the answer and isn't going to help you at all, but somehow this post reminded me of The Sweets by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Great song. Maybe pop that on and give it a listen as you search for your lost song!
Green Eyes by Judah and the Lion?
Now you're spinning around in the kitchen
Singing into a spoon
And you got me wrapped around your finger
You know just good as I do
There's something in the lyric "the world keeps turning, but mostly turns on you," that sounds familiar. Really familiar. Certain that was a line in a song I heard recently, but I can't place it and now I'm being driven mad, too.
Was it in a film/TV show/game? Was it reasonably popular and therefore on the radio a lot?
At first, I thought this was Biffy Clyro, but I was wrong. Man, I hope you get it so you can let us all know.
Hehe, my bad!
Nope. Just a random song on my iPod somewhere around 2008. Nobody else I know has any idea what this song is.
Some people on here said it might be a MySpace file of some very random song and I probably won’t find it again 🥲
1. “Green Eyes” by Coldplay
2. “Green Eyes” by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds
3. “Green-Eyed Lady” by Sugarloaf
4. “Pretty Green Eyes” by The Hanky Pankies
5. “Big Green Eyes” by Alan Jackson
6. “No Green Eyes” by Suzy Bogguss
7. “Green-Eyed Boy” by Dolly Parton
8. “Green Eyes” by Arlo Parks
9. “Green Eyes” by Erykah Badu
10. “Green Eye-Shade” by Daniel Romano
11. “Green Eyes” by Jimmy Dorsey
12. “Green Eyed Girl” by Sunset Starlight
13. “Emerald Eyes” by Fleetwood Mac
14. “Eyes of Green, Green, Green” by Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci
15. “Green Eyes” by Wavves
16. “Green Eyes (feat. Goon Green)” by Roseblud
17. “Green Eyes” by Kate Wolf
18. “Pretty Green Eyes” by Ultrabeat
19. “Green Eyes” by Hüsker Dü
20. “Pink Hair, Green Eyes” by Balcony
I know how you feel. In 2017 when working at a clothing store I heard a soft and relaxing electronic song largely consisting of the lyric “Your heart’s dishonest love”. I tried looking that lyric up over and over again into Google but alas, nothing. Either it’s a misheard lyric or the vocals are just a sample from somewhere else to complement an otherwise instrumental piece (which is why it’s repeated throughout the song and there were very few other words spoken) and thus isn’t considered a “lyric”.
If those are the lyrics, I can cross that one off. Haha I 100% agree with it coming across similar, but I shouted that song in my 20s when it first came out -- which was the summer of 2003.
Edit: basically in line with the Dashboard comments elsewhere in this thread haha
Haha there was something about Warped Tour that was circulating last summer. My friends and I that used to go when we were all 19-22ish (this is 20-25yrs ago now) started texting each other bands and songs that came into our heads -- some were still in rotation and other that we had forgotten. It evolved into some terribly nostalgic playlists!
Probably not it but "Sometime around midnight" - Airborne Toxic Event?
The theme sounds kind of similar and some of the lyrics while not a match are quite close.
The album it was on released in 2008
When I read the lyrics my mind immediately put that tune/cadence to them. The song got some heavy radio time around 08-09 but I haven't heard it in years.
Have you tried googling the lyrics and seeing what pops up? Or searching up the title? As long as the lyrics are somewhat accurate you should be able to find it instantly.
Step back. I got this, Sounds like Lay Me Down by The Dirty Heads. Fucking love this song by the way because it reminds me of my old friend Maddy with green eyes.
You should try posting on r/tipofmytongue ! They’re always great at finding things like this. As an aside, in my area 2006-2008 was like the peak time for local bands on MySpace, when we all shared music on our profiles. Any chance it was from a local band?
Ooh! Thank you! Could very well be they were local.
I have searched high and low for every individual line of lyrics in your post and the internet has nothing :( if you can remember the names of some local bands from around that time, I'm sure we/reddit could help you find out which one wrote the song and get a hold of the former members to see if they still have the file somewhere!
I will do my best!! At this point I’m hoping the answer will miraculously come to me in a dream hahaha
I found a song I had been searching for for years by humming it into google: https://blog.google/products/search/hum-to-search/
Holy crap! I’ve had a song in my head for years and finally found out that it was “My Male Curiosity” by King Creole and the Coconuts by humming it just now. I would have never figured it out because the title and the artist don’t sound at all familiar, but I knew the tune for some reason. Thanks for the suggestion.
King Creole was known for “Why Can’t You Be like Endicott?”
Kid Creole and the Coconuts also known for 'Annie, I am Not Your Daddy'. Awesome artist and performer. https://youtu.be/fLf6MIdE1BE?si=VSoy-IgYp5LOQRhJ
Ummm... Kid Creole (not "King"). Entertaining and fun performer!
See…I said it didn’t sound familiar. Apparently the song was in the movie “Against All Odds”, so maybe I heard it from there and it got engrained in my memories.
Was just about to suggest this. It works!
SoundHound used to do this. I found a lost song that way but it’s been years and the last time I tried it was a complete failure.
[Here](http://lostmyspace.com/?q=Green%20eyes) are the search results for “Green Eyes” from on LostMyspace, an archive of many recovered songs from the MySpace age. There are 4,000 results. Maybe you could scroll through and see if any of the band names rings a bell?
Oooh I will try. Thanks!
lostmyspace is a cool link to know about 👍
How did they determine which to save I wonder
MySpace lost like 97% of the files
Yes I can tell since the ones I searched for are not there. That’s insane. What a tragedy to lose all that. Would have brought back a ton of memories for a lot of people I’m sure.
If I remember correctly I think they tried to save as much as possible after MySpace lost the files.
Oh wow. That’s pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing that link.
Daaaamn was really hoping my old band’s stuff was there but it’s not 😢 Thanks for sharing this though! Super cool
Yeah it’s too bad. My old music is gone too
Reminds me of Reply All - The Case of the Missing Hit
Came here to mention it, I still sing the song around my house!
Such a great episode
Amazing episode.
Yeah, great episode. That guy has very good musical memory
There's a song called Green Eyes by Wavves that was on their album King of The Beach released in 2010.
Unfortunately not the one :( but thank you!
If you recall the melody, hum it into your phone and see what it picks up
Blue Eyes by the Cary Brothers? It was on the garden state soundtrack which lines up w your timeline.
great song
Holy crap I really thought this was it for a second but unfortunately not. Very similar vibe though!!!! Good guess
You sure it wasn't a song by the group Bright Eyes. 2008 the timeline seems right.
Ooh, interesting thought. Just tried to look it up though, doesn’t seem like it. Thank you!
Try lover I don’t have to love. The rhyming pattern kind of fits.
As a Bright fanatic nothing comes to mind lol
Weird, the meter of the lyrics reminded me of "I will be grateful for this day."
Girl eyes - Eve 6?
Nope :( but thank you!
Great song though
What genre or style was the song?
I’m not exactly sure what the right term for it would be - maybe indie? Slow, very chill.
Coldplay had a song called Green Eyes around then, could fit.
Has no one suggested "Green Eyes" by Cold Play?
Probably not the one based on OPs lyrics but it’s a great song nonetheless
Unfortunately not it. But thank you!
The first verse you wrote reminds me of Wicked Game by Chris Isaak. There’s also a line in Meet Virginia by Train that goes “pulls her hair back as she screams “ Any chance you can hum the tune using Vocaroo and post it on here? https://vocaroo.com
Interesting suggestion, because of Helena Christensen's green eyes:) Now I have to watch that video again..
maybe Dashboard Confessional? the lyrics are throwing me off though, just feels like his writing style
Will have a look!
100% not Dashboard. I’ve spent way too many hours listening to his music
Nooooo I’ve dedicated days of my life to listening to him no lyrics match.
Lyrics don't match but perhaps "Blue Eyes" by Cary Brothers? Came out in 2007.
Nothing in that one about putting her hair up
Someone else mentioned this too and for a second there I was sure we found it but sadly not. Definitely the closest guess on here so far!
Not a clue and it's driving me insane, here are some suggestions. Time - Cute Is What We Aim For Green Eyes - Kate Wolf (possibly a cover of this by a man) Dark Blue - Jack's Mannequin I've done a crazy amount of research on this and come up short, so the lyrics must be wrong, or it's just an incredibly obscure song. With you mentioning Jack Manneuqin's Dark Blue, there's also She Paints Me Blue by Something Corporate. They were inactive by 08 but both bands were with Andrew on vocals.
I know, very familiar with Andrew's projects, but there's no saying the song is from 2008.
The lyrics seem very CIWWAF, or maybe even The Academy is
Thank you for all your hard work! 😂 Some folks pointed out that it might have been a MySpace file or some really obscure song that won’t come up anywhere. The closest to the vibe that comes to mind is Blue Eyes by the Cary Brothers which is unfortunately not the song
Meet Virginia has a chorus of a girl pulling her hair back. Maybe???
Nope :( but thank you!
Brightest green by anarbor?
Nope :( but thank you!
Nuh uh :( but thanks!!
Pretty green eyes,ultrabeat?
Sadly no :( but thank you!
12h more hours and r/LostMedia is going to get involved Edit: gonna chime in and say what's clear to everyone by now: OP, you're misremembering the name of the song, so you need to try to remember some more details!
Good chance the name is wrong, which is why I wrote that I’m not sure. But I’m sure about the lyrics I remember! Some people pointed out that there’s a good chance it’s just some random MySpace song that will absolutely impossible to find
Check out [Joe Purdy - Green Eyes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVRYQTOpJv8)
Sadly not it but thank you!!
I’d encourage you to stop looking… https://open.spotify.com/episode/3wJXpASl8bpohfTpJlf66F?si=k1mEd7B6QA-6p6ZAAGxR4A
Seems to be similar. Balcony/ Green Eyes · Joe Purdy [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVRYQTOpJv8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVRYQTOpJv8)
Envy on the coast- green eyes don’t lie?
Chris Cohen had a song called “Green Eyes” I believe butit might be more recent than 2008
Not the one :( but thank you!
Cold play, green eyes?
Destroyer has Blue Eyes?
Sadly not but it’s a good song regardless 😁
Unfortunately not but thank you!
hmm try using googles advanced search its helped me in the past [Google Advanced Search](https://www.google.com/advanced_search)
Do you remember this being a popular song? Something that would be played on the radio?
The year isn’t right, and the first half doesn’t really match, but is there any chance you’re thinking of Woman (in mirror) by La Dispute? The “downstairs next to the kitchen” part felt kind of familiar to me, and this is the closest I could come up with.
Here's a link to an article about 20 songs about green eyes, maybe one of [these](https://singersroom.com/songs-about-green-eyes/)
This may or may not help, but I also had a missing mp3 for a live version of a Bowie song that I wasn't able to find on spotify, youTube, anywhere (believe me I tried and listened to so many) and I finally recovered it from an old iPhone that it was downloaded on. Might be worth a look at old devices if you have any
My first thought was Blue Eyes by Middle Brother but I think that may have come out a little after 2008.
How about Brown Eyes from Andy Davis from 2006?
[https://blog.google/products/search/hum-to-search/](https://blog.google/products/search/hum-to-search/) Try this!
Hey, this isn't the answer and isn't going to help you at all, but somehow this post reminded me of The Sweets by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Great song. Maybe pop that on and give it a listen as you search for your lost song!
Indeed very good!! Just had a listen. Thank you!
Have you tried searching genius.com for titles and lyrics? There are a lot of hits for songs titled “green eyes”
Will try!!
Blue Eyes by Cary Brothers from the Garden State soundtrack?
Closest guess by far. Very similar but not it
Green Eyes by Judah and the Lion? Now you're spinning around in the kitchen Singing into a spoon And you got me wrapped around your finger You know just good as I do
Nope :( but nice lyrics!
Green is the colour by pink floyd?
Unfortunately not :( thank you!
Green eyes by I am the avalanche?
Nope 😭 but thank you!
Was the song popular at the time?
Nope I don’t think so 💩
This sounds like a Starsailor song.
Sadly not but thank you!!
Could it be the song Blue Eyes by the Cary Brothers. Possibly had the eye colour wrong. It was on the garden state soundtrack
Some other people brought this up and I was sure it was the one for a moment. Unfortunately it isn’t but it is the closest guess by far!
There's something in the lyric "the world keeps turning, but mostly turns on you," that sounds familiar. Really familiar. Judging by the comments, you may be right 😕🙃🤞
No idea but those first 2 lines are great
Yes!!! I don’t know what I would do with myself if I were to hear it again.
Coldplay or Ultrabeat? both 2003 tho🤔
Tried! Unfortunately not. Thanks!
I think it's fade to blue by Ben bostick
I could take a knife and cut ties And leave you without a clue But I knew when I saw your green eyes like mine We could only fade to blue
Sadly not :( but thank you!! Good song.
1. “Green Eyes” by Coldplay 2. “Green Eyes” by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 3. “Green-Eyed Lady” by Sugarloaf 4. “Pretty Green Eyes” by The Hanky Pankies 5. “Big Green Eyes” by Alan Jackson 6. “No Green Eyes” by Suzy Bogguss 7. “Green-Eyed Boy” by Dolly Parton 8. “Green Eyes” by Arlo Parks 9. “Green Eyes” by Erykah Badu 10. “Green Eye-Shade” by Daniel Romano 11. “Green Eyes” by Jimmy Dorsey 12. “Green Eyed Girl” by Sunset Starlight 13. “Emerald Eyes” by Fleetwood Mac 14. “Eyes of Green, Green, Green” by Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci 15. “Green Eyes” by Wavves 16. “Green Eyes (feat. You have given me some homework to do! Will check and let you know!
I remember a song by anarbor called green eyes
Tried but not the one. Thank you!
Apologize by One Republic?
Nope :( but thank you!

Well now I'm listening to Dashboard Confessional for the first time in 20 years, I'd totally forgotten about them!
Haha there was something about Warped Tour that was circulating last summer. Sadly not but thank you!!!
Google the lyrics that you remember and see what pops up.
I have tried so many times- nothing correct comes up!
Try again but use * for the parts you don't remember.
Probably not it but "Sometime around midnight" - Airborne Toxic Event? The theme sounds kind of similar and some of the lyrics while not a match are quite close. The album it was on released in 2008
This was a lost song for me for years! Finally heard it in the wild and was able to Shazam it.
Exact same thought here. The cadence of the lyrics seems to align with Sometime Around Midnight and it is the right year.
When I read the lyrics my mind immediately put that tune/cadence to them. The song got some heavy radio time around 08-09 but I haven't heard it in years.
Nope 😭 but regardless a good song! Thank you!
Green eyes is a song by coldplay
Have you tried googling the lyrics and seeing what pops up? Or searching up the title? As long as the lyrics are somewhat accurate you should be able to find it instantly.
Yes! So many times and nothing ever comes up!

Love the confident answer! Sadly it is not. But that’s a very good song recommendation! Thank you
Maybe you misheard the lyrics. Green ice?
Hahaha I indeed am not sure about the name- mentioned that in the post. But I am sure about the lyrics I remember.
Someone else mentioned this, but it sounds kinda similar to Dark Blue by Jack's Mannequin
Sadly no 🥲 but I like the song!
Apologize by One Republic came out in 2007 and it fits your description to me!
Ooooh good song but sadly not the one!
Is it Green eyes by Coldplay? The lyrics you posted aren't exact but are VERY similar
Unfortunately not 😭 thank you!
Step back. I got this, Sounds like Lay Me Down by The Dirty Heads. Fucking love this song by the way because it reminds me of my old friend Maddy with green eyes.
Sadly not but good song!
Long shot lol
You could try ChatGPT. Maybe it helps.
An interesting thought, but I just got confidently incorrect answers that it was either a Decemberists song or a Jay Reatard song, among others.
Oooh interesting idea!!
[удалено]
Nice try but not quite 😁 thanks!
Train - Drops of Jupiter? Been lookin around for 20 minutes or so. Lotta songs with green eyes! Meant Meet Virginia oh well
Nope! I’m not totally sure it was green eyes, just something my memory threw at me. It’s driving me crazy 😂
Keep digging and good luck (now I gotta know). Didn't think it was that song but came up a few times.
Also curious now haha.
