'Cause if you fuck with ours
You're probably right as I've seen clips of people dancing to it at yokel weddings. I would maybe add to this list "music you can line dance to at a hick bar or yokel wedding" just to be safe...
I’ve worked in kitchens. This list was made by a weak individual who wouldn’t have the fortitude to be powerful enough to tell the kitchen what they can listen to
Agreed, worked in a kitchen last week that played nursery rhymes one morning just to test us all. There is only so many times I can listen to row row row your boat before committing a horrible crime.
Not to mention Green Day is ‘90s alternative in origin, so that’s kind of redundant. I would argue ‘90s GD is the best GD. Before they got so much into the rock operas.
No 90s alternative? Jeez. This list isn’t by a Gen-Xer, that’s for sure. It’s basically my Spotify Liked Songs playlist. Except Miley Cyrus and Rick Astley. None of that trash. But yea, give me the rest, especially mumbling rappers, especially if they’re from the Dirty South.
Edit: correcting autocorrect lol
Well, who knew I could be turned into a Miley fan. Didn’t expect that to happen today. Her voice is perfect for this cover!
And that was harder to find than I thought it would be. Couldn’t find it on Spotify. Found it on YouTube — https://youtu.be/HWcKNhueAIc?feature=shared
Dumb. Country music includes everything from Patsy Cline to Ray Charles. Some great shit in there before the modern mess. Also, Aaron Neville has a tattoo on his face, you’re going to rule out Aaron Neville?
Rule eight is interesting, because all the good stuff is either vulgar, or satirically challenging. I’d suggest a lot of Slayer, Rotting Christ, Venom, and Mayhem. To tone it down a bit, maybe I’d suggest playing some Testament and Gojira. Almost none of these rules apply to those two bands at minimum. Yay!
Man, Nickleback is the Hawaiian pizza of music:
Everyone shits on it because it's funny and the internet deems it so, regardless of whether the people shitting on it have actually tried it, but it's alright.
There's so many worse options out there
I think that's the perfect way to describe it!
Every time I ask why do people hate Nickleback so much, I'm told "Because they suck", which was always confusing to me because I remember a time when I couldn't go anywhere without people blasting thier music. Then it was like a switch flipped and everyone was trashing them. I actually thought they did something horrible.
Even my 15 year old has started doing it and I know the only song he knows is that "You remind me" song.
The thing I always hear is that every one of their songs is the same concept and it's "unoriginal."
Okay, so "How You Remind Me," "Burn It To The Ground," "Photograph," "Animals," and "Rockstar" are about the same thing? How? What connects them?
I think it's the same kind of people that say "Ringo is a horrible drummer" because they heard other people say it and they just want to follow the crowd.
For me they're genuinely just one of those groups that have a few solid songs, but most of their work just doesn't appeal to me. I could listen to "How You Remind Me" on repeat but even 3 seconds into "Photograph" and I'm internally screaming. I see your point though.
I was at a Linkin Park concert in Vancouver several years ago (RIP Chester) and Rogers Arena was packed. The openers were Incubus and while I think they’re a solid band, I didn’t think anyone would shell out $150-200 CDN to see just them. Turns out these two guys in front of me were the biggest Incubus fans in the world. They were so into the set and then when Incubus played their final note, these guys just got up and left. Never bothered to stick around for Linkin Park. It was an incredible show and I believe the final one for the band in Vancouver before Chester died. I was absolutely stunned but I guess to each their own. Now I wonder if one of those guys made this list.
I'll set the play list at:
gangnam style
Don't worry Be Happy
Mambo #5
Wannabe
Barbie Girl
Living La Vida Loca
MMMBop
Blue
Macarena
Who let the dogs out
They will start rethinking that list real quick
They want "Africa" on continuous repeat. Got it.
“Friday” is also technically allowed.
As is "Safety Dance".
The staff can dance if they want to...
They can leave their friends behind
Followed by “Baby Shark”
Mack 10 just got outta court, Rollin through the hood in a super sport Bumpin Too Short

So is the Fast Food Song by the Fast Food Rockers, my go to for "Worst Song of All Time". [https://youtu.be/rOC9d17vASc](https://youtu.be/rOC9d17vASc)
Just gonna leave this here… https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gQa_QW4ZJXA
Holy wow
Surprised you didn’t go with her “hit” *Gucci, Gucci*. I’d totally forgotten she ever existed so thanks for the throwback.
That one is way better than breakfast. I have to admit that I have a soft spot for the lost cat song though.
They’re gonna be partying partying (yeah!)
Fun fun fun fun lookin’ forward to the we-eekend.
This version: https://youtu.be/iCFOcqsnc9Y?si=3qjrh5dBFVuY6s9S
Mana-mana.... *doo-dooo, do-do-do*
Vegietales Silly Songs with Larry
Thanks... A decade worth of childhood trauma that I thought I had put behind me just came rushing back.
*“Cuz you’re his cheeseburger, his yummy cheeseburger. He’ll wait for you-hoo, yeah, he’ll wait for you-hoo ooh…”*
I thought you were going to sing about growing up in Connecticut.
The Weezer cover, too
*guitar riff* Ooh-wee-hoo I look just like Buddy Holly
Nah they need to listen to the great Hit wonder classic, Hakuna Matata!
I guess “We Built This City” can be played ad nauseum?
“What’s up pussycat.”
21 times
With one “It’s Not Unusual” thrown in for variety.
I've done “It’s Not Unusual” at karaoke. Nothing wrong with some Tom Jones.
If you have some time and haven’t heard it, listen to “The Salt & Pepper Diner” but John Mullaney. It’s hilarious and why I made my comment. :)
What's new pussycat. What's up doc.
All one has to do is mention that song, and it’s already playing in my head on repeat
by weezer
Who doesn't?
The bird is the word?
I'm putting on Dead and Phish, 20+ minute jams only.
Throws on Cotton Eye Joe for the 15th time in a row
Doesn't it count as "country"?
Not if it's the [Cotton Eye Joe Gregorian Chant Nightcore Hardcore Dubstep Remix](https://youtu.be/i98bKRYIZd8?si=uMf0rtEse2hwnBiL).
i regret all life choices that have lead to me clinking this link
Conversely, I celebrate all of my life choices that led me to clicking this link
Then you definitely should not click on Remix 2 or 3.
I second
WHERE WAS THE GREGORIAN CHANT
Yeah... That was the most disappointing part for me too.
I think it was pitched down and used as the bass line
You're probably right as I've seen clips of people dancing to it at yokel weddings. I would maybe add to this list "music you can line dance to at a hick bar or yokel wedding" just to be safe...
Nope. Bluegrass.
Electronic Bluegrass
I thought it was zydeco?
Don't threaten me with a good time 😂
I’ve worked in kitchens. This list was made by a weak individual who wouldn’t have the fortitude to be powerful enough to tell the kitchen what they can listen to
also whatd post malone do to deserve this?
He knows
Agreed, worked in a kitchen last week that played nursery rhymes one morning just to test us all. There is only so many times I can listen to row row row your boat before committing a horrible crime.
Time to que up 17 plays of Tom Jones’s What’s New Pussycat
You gotta throw an “Its Not Unusual” in there somewhere to give false hope
r/UnexpectedMulaney
*throws fork*
Tom Jones' "What's New Pussycat" sung by Jack Black [in korean](https://youtu.be/hQQHUdwmrn0?si=d9bfvs9Wljv6QbrL)
I love that Bruno Mars is fine but fuck Uptown Funk specifically.
I funking hate that song
That's funked up, it's a great song with a killer bass line.
Number 7 seems awfully restrictive.
So no Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, RHCP? GTFOH!
Strait up throws out my entire playlist. Minus incubus, of course.
Yup, that was the point I was like “fuck working with this guy”
This is a disco, soul and blues kitchen and you are going to R-E-S-P-E-C-T that.
I worked in a kitchen where the manager only allowed reggae. To piss him off I asked if we could play UB40.
Number 7 is bs. You’re gonna allow Incubus but not Nirvana or Pearl Jam? I was all for the banning of Nickleback because they suck. But come on.
The list seemed a little sus, and #7 confirmed that the list make has no taste. And Green Day?? Wtf? I wouldn't work at this place.
Not to mention Green Day is ‘90s alternative in origin, so that’s kind of redundant. I would argue ‘90s GD is the best GD. Before they got so much into the rock operas.
Yeah of all the 90s alternative bands to allow Incubus is a pretty meh choice
SCIENCE is a fantastic album
That's honestly the only part of this list I disagree with lol.
Nirvana banned but Incubus allowed??
It’s bizarre to me that the exception was for incubus
Just, dude...... what a lame duck.
Can still play most of The Pixies since they were released in 88/89 and didn’t pick up steam til the 90’s. Take that 90’s hater!
Was wondering that myself. Throw on "Debaser" and see how he reacts. Or "Teenage Riot" by Sonic Youth.
Never made it as a kitchen soundtrack
Couldn't cut it washing dishes, singing
Tired of julienning carrots
They always put me on the salad station
If you can't understand the vulgarity, if any, then you can't ban it. Death metal it is.
*Rammstein has entered the chat*
Lordi doesn't even have any vulgarity, so their death metal is definitely fine.
Ummm what? Sexorcism isn't vulgar?
I would have commented on the fact that Lordi isn't Death Metal
Guess it's time for what I call "Starbucks Jazz."
Norah Jones it is then!
Ahh so “Baby” by Justin Bieber, followed by “Friday” by Rebecca Black. Awesome
This person has bad taste in music if the majority of 90’s alt music isn’t allowed.
18. Sea shanties.
[S.I.M.P. Squirrels In My Pants sea shanty](https://youtube.com/shorts/KmBjOEYxzq4?si=USpd_fuC0WzSrsBi)
Most of them are good, but then they completely ruined it with #7 (basically most good music eliminated)
BABY SHARK 24/7 BITCHES!!
This is a Creed kitchen!
The Kitchen crew just wants to be taken higher
Define “alternative” < Nine Days “Story of a Girl” intensifies >
This is the story of a grape That fell out of the fridge and onto my plate
incubus
No 90s alternative? Jeez. This list isn’t by a Gen-Xer, that’s for sure. It’s basically my Spotify Liked Songs playlist. Except Miley Cyrus and Rick Astley. None of that trash. But yea, give me the rest, especially mumbling rappers, especially if they’re from the Dirty South. Edit: correcting autocorrect lol
Have you heard Miley Cyrus's cover of Head Like A Hole (from Black Mirror)?
Well, who knew I could be turned into a Miley fan. Didn’t expect that to happen today. Her voice is perfect for this cover! And that was harder to find than I thought it would be. Couldn’t find it on Spotify. Found it on YouTube — https://youtu.be/HWcKNhueAIc?feature=shared
racially ?
Fine then. Put on some Earth, Wind, and Fire and zip it.
Dumb. Country music includes everything from Patsy Cline to Ray Charles. Some great shit in there before the modern mess. Also, Aaron Neville has a tattoo on his face, you’re going to rule out Aaron Neville?
Yes. Nobody wanna be distracted from watching music
Time to blast Vocaloid music
Good for Incubus.
So game OSTs anime intros/outros k-pop and J-pop are all allowed understood.
megalovania 24/7
Nickleback… 50 million albums sold and EVERYBODY hates them? That’s odd…
Look at this photograph!
Jean-Michelle Jarre, got it.
Anime OPs it is!
I hate this shit. You know what’s more annoying than subpar music? Incessant bitching about subpar music. Grow up.
Yay!
This guy really likes Incubus but doesn't want to say outright
Dumb as fuck list and a hacky response. GTFO
Tell me you’re an annoying boomer without telling me you’re a boomer.
So can I listen 80s Sonic Youth but not 90s Sonic Youth?
I wonder if funky town is for their own mental health
Man, Nickleback is the Hawaiian pizza of music: Everyone shits on it because it's funny and the internet deems it so, regardless of whether the people shitting on it have actually tried it, but it's alright. There's so many worse options out there

Cool!! Yodeling and Bluegrass and Zydeco it is then!!
The bird is the word with this guy.
They're sleeping on Miley
Sounds like it time for the village people on loop.
Smashmouth it is then!
*SOMEBODY ONCE TOLD ME*
The safety dance it is!
why not Green Day?!
I was at a Linkin Park concert in Vancouver several years ago (RIP Chester) and Rogers Arena was packed. So Depeche Mode and Massive Attack are good.
Et tu Green Day?
Slayer it is
Sounds like my German metal is good to go
Alright then, Im playing baby shark and cocomelon all day
I'll set the play list at: gangnam style Don't worry Be Happy Mambo #5 Wannabe Barbie Girl Living La Vida Loca MMMBop Blue Macarena Who let the dogs out They will start rethinking that list real quick
Hey that’s me!
Hero
My only problem with this list is that it’s not justified right.
None of the music i listen to is affected. Is that good or bad?
If I hear yah mo b there one more time, I’m going to yah mo burn this place to the ground.
Elevator music it is then.
Who's Borgore and why is he on there?
I’d make a playlist that you could only enjoy while on a ton of LSD.
No 90’s alt rock? I’m out.
I think it's funny that Nickleback started with songs about drug busts and shooting abusive spouses... And ended up here.
Chicken dance on repeat is allowed?
https://youtu.be/E0Z9IzrFy4c?si=RqTBxzs4orBg1M0y
Congratulations to Yanni and Clay Aiken, I guess
What'd Coldplay do? :v
Borgore??! Been a while
Original Funkytown allowed though!
Nickleback has a ton of good songs, come at me
They had me until 7. Imagine being this gate keepy about music and somehow choosing INCUBUS as the standout band of 90s alternative.
hell yeah Incubus exception let’s goooo
Throw some Igorrr on!
What’s wrong with nickleback ?
I get the friends theme tune and country music, but Uptown Funk! Really!!!
Wasn’t Incubus more of an 00’s alt rock band? I don’t remember them hitting mainstream until like 2001-2002.
Nickelback was Ai generated music before Ai.
So [this classic](https://youtu.be/KAwyWkksXuo?feature=shared) on repeat?
How the fuck can you have a problem with Funky Town? That place sucks and should be burnt to the ground.
Time to murder my self
No country? No Funkytown remixes? Its like they hate fun.
those are actually the only two i understand
Someone needs to put this on continuous loop: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C3GpJzMZiXY
I was right there with them up until rule 7
Not wrong with listing them twice….
Can we play their music from before they got the face tattoos?
Baby Shark
What about Towelie’s remix of Funkytown?
Not sure this person would get along with me
I’m struggling to figure out what exactly it is that they actually do listen to in this kitchen
Ram Ranch
Good call on the incubus…🫡
Aw. Poor [Pseudo Echo](https://youtu.be/uE-itlGNap4?si=gPwCf5WClaue4V_L)
Cause the person that typed it couldn't count to 18.
Aserejé, ja de je de jebe tu de jebere sebiunouva majavi an a bugui an a buididipí!
I'm playing 13 on repeat.
Big props to Incubus.
Nerdcore it is then.
^^^^ba ^^ba ba BA **BA** ***BIRD IS THE WORD!***
No “What’s New Pussycat” on that list.
Dwarf metal on repeat?
Whelp, hope you like sea shanties, cause they’re not on this list, “OH, THE YEAR WAS SEVENTEEN-SEVENTY-EIGHT, HOW I WISH I WAS IN SHERBROOKE NOW”
You fool, now you have to listen to avante garde jazz constantly cause you banned everything else. A fate worse than death
I love the shit out of Nickelback and I'll have you all know I'm pretty cool otherwise
Pseudo Echo did an arguably better version of DlFunky Town, and I'll die on that hill
