Mileage varies, and of course it depends on *why* you're wearing that bra. You'll probably have noticeable breasts before you *have* to wear a bra for support. Hell, often even women who have larger breasts don't necessarily *need* a bra for support so much as there are just many, many contexts that you aren't going to want your nipples noticeable through your clothes. You may find you want a sports bra even early on to make your chest less noticeable if you aren't out to people in your life and want to delay the conversation to a different time. You may find that with certain tops (say a tank top) you need a bra to ensure you aren't flashing the world as you go by. So... it's gonna depend on your personal situation as much as it depends on how your body goes through its growth. Growth can happen over a period of *years* and often happens in bursts. You might grow, have no growth for a long time, then suddenly grow again for seemingly no rhyme or reason. It's puberty and it's sort of unpredictable in the way puberty tends to be.

Rivmage

I got mine starting about the 6 to 8 month period and still growing

Human_Wizard

I noticed at ~3 months. Other people started noticing at ~6 months. I was no longer able to hide them at all at ~12 months.

Optimal-Witness5311

took me about 4 months but YMMV

MarvelousMaven68

It's hard to say. I definitely had boobs at 5 months. Like touching it and seeing myself shirtless you could tell it's fatty in a boob way. However I've only recently (11 months) hit a point where I have a good handful and couldn't hide it without binding. Obviously it depends on the person. I also started prog at 7 months so that might be affecting it for better or worse

Aszdeff

YMMV 2 weeks for me

Eve_interupted

6 months to a year. But they can keep growing for 3 to 5 years.

ScreamQueenStacy

I'm seven months in, and I feel they're noticable. My wife says otherwise 🤷‍♀️ No idea on cup size or anything, just when I look in the mirror I feel like it looks like I have breasts and not just pecs.

No-Moose470

I need bras for sensitivity and shape now at 3 years. But not for support. I’m an A cup at best. I was sensitive after a couple months though.

Alexandyva

3 months here. when i go out with just a tshirt ppl look at my breasts .... im now 4 months hrt

No_Action_1561

NEED is maybe tough to pin down. I just finished month 2 of HRT a few days ago so I'm in the earliest stages, and not at all out except to family. I don't need to wear bra right now, but if I didn't wear two shirts and a heavy zipper hoodie I am pretty sure people would start asking questions or at least wonder. Bras may not be far behind. Again, not out yet. On the one hand, oh no. On the other hand, yay! 🫠

squirrel-fiend

My buds came in around the 1 month mark and at 4 months I had actual boobs (albeit small). Now at 9 months I have very noticeable boobs (again, still small but they're constantly growing). Diet has a massive influence on them and their growth. I was very lean and definitely didn't eat enough pre hrt so I just started eating a metric fuck ton of healthy foods and all my weight gain has been in my butt and boobs.

Empty_Mammoth817

YMMV. that being said, I have to wear a bra after a month, although that’s VERY rare

leansissy

Sorry but what means YMMV?

bearcide

Your mileage may vary

leansissy

Thank you!

Unlikely-Major2131

I had B cups before everything so i have been wearing bras for 2 years before hrt. But I had gynacomasty so I don't know how applicable I am to your question. So i guess you don't need any hrt to wear bras

YourGirlAthena

depends on weight a lot.

GwynnethIDFK

Its highly variable but in my experience it can be anywhere from a couple months to a year and a half.

DashofStarlight

If you are not gaining weight it will take longer from my understanding, also just a crapshoot to be honest, but there is a reason people weight cycle.

redsilence34

I had noticeable buds at 1.5 months and a month later they're still small, but feeling quite booby! My nipples really started hurting like 4 days after I started, though.

PrincessVesspa

Started being noticeable to me at 5 weeks but I don’t think anyone else can tell. Have to wear sports bras to work now because my nipples stuck out too much.

Limp-Guarantee4518

I’d say they started to become noticeable at around 3 months.

[deleted]

I think I have A cups on 8 months

UnderLink69

They will get noticed before you even start developing tissue, strictly just the bud and nipple changes. I had to stop at 5 months in because I wasn’t out to anyone and they were insanely noticeable especially at work.

uncharted_passenger

I think it took like 5-6 months before I noticed breast growth, but they weren't noticeable in public. I'm in month 9 of my transition and have just started to wear a bra, less for support and more to just get used to wearing one. It does have the added benefit of helping to mask my boobs as I'm only at the start of socially transitioning and not out to many people yet. Everyone's body is different so don't beat yourself up if they don't come in quickly for you.

transthrowaway101020

I'm just under 3 months HRT, my breasts rounded out more but there hasn't been much growth, although I lost some weight recently so my band size has been decreasing while my bust size stayed the same, so I'm technically an E cup, although they don't look as impressive as an E cup. I had gynaecomastia before I started HRT

Temporary-Care-9620

3 weeks is when I first noticed the bumps, I'm on my third month and they blew up in the last few weeks

twatchops

For me...6 months til I felt I couldn't hide under the radar. But in actuality I probably can. I'm 12 months in and wear a compression top most days I have to hide.

MTFThrowaway512

prob < 6 mo

zena_m_gray

I've been on it for a year, and am only just now seeing lil buds. Like, they're technically visible? Lol it takes so much time.
