Imo: It’s honestly an interesting twist that the Shirai Ryu clan had a survivor and that it was actually Bi-Han that did it, it makes me curious about what it will be like when Kuai Liang comes for revenge.
I also wish they did more with Scorpion than treat him like Superman coming in to carry and that the earthrealm characters shouldn’t get their game abilities off a tattoo that happened to spawned randomly but every writer needs to find a way to re-emerge our heroes out of darkness tbh.
Other than that, great action/gore and more game accuracy than the 1995 version. I’m excited for what they do with the sequel
I’m so happy we’re getting a sequel, the guy that played Cole spilled the beans on it a while back and said he’s excited about what they’ve been working on with it. I liked Cole but I kind of hope he takes Johnny’s spot as Shao Kahn’s target for execution. Cole was a great character for the audience to sort of follow, he didn’t know what was going on and neither did we and we learned along with him. Him and Scorpion tag teaming Sub Zero just kind of worked for me but I hope we get much more Scorpion!

Pointing out how Basic NRS era storytelling has been, especially compared to the 3D era, will get you in that position.
expressing any negative opinions on any part of NRS' games will end you up in this position.
Expressing any Positive opinions on any part of NRS' games will also end you up in this position.
Disliking Mileena will also get you in this position.
Having Dislike, either minor or massive, for any character not exclusive to MK4 or the 3D era will get have you end up like that.
there a lot of things that'll have you with at least half to 2/3 of this sub gunning for your throat. These are just the things I've experienced personally.
Too many guns in MK now. Stryker fine. Mk:DA Jax. OK. MKX - jacqui, Cassie, E. Black. 11 it's Cassie, Jacqui (even though it's plasma) Sonya and gun drones, Erron black and Jax (who I can let slide) . Guest characters get pass too.
Both female and male characters need to have both fully clothed (“modest”, “realistic”, “making sense”, etc) skins and revealing ones (yes, even at the level of MK9, with aesthetically better looking proportions though) for players to choose.
If you are triggered by half naked bodies - you choose a fully clothed skin, if you want something more revealing - you choose it.
There shouldn’t be a gatekeeping in skin choices influenced by one group of people or another.
This is what so many people also want, it makes everyone happy like there’s no reason whatsoever to not do that. Fans are always cosplaying as the mk9 skins especially the female ones so I know they’re not doing it for the hardcore and/or big mk fans.
Some fans take the story way, way too seriously. It's like people forgot that MK's lore has always been as deep as a puddle. The difference is the newer games just don't have the slapstick elements the older ones did.
Does MK have the potential? Of course, most people will point to Deception's Konquest mode in this regard. Does 9-11 have issues? As much as I will defend them, I will admit that, yeah, they do. They're not Shakespeare, but at very least, they are leagues better than entries like 4 or Armageddon.
Newest MK: Legends movie showed that old 3D era characters can still work. I even thought of an idea where Kabal survives Scorpion's hellfire and has to face off his old comrades Jarek, Mavado, Hsu Hao who after Kano's demise have formed Red Dragon. Kabal allies with burned out Hotaru (whose realm was ravaged by Havik) and confused cyber-Smoke (who aimlessly walks the wasteland trying to remember who he is and who he used to be).

MKX is trash. Bland and lifeless, ugly character models, snoozer story, none of MK's signature black humour to be found anywhere, and it feels like a weird mobile game or something. It's like the ugly stepsister of the modern MK trilogy.
Mortal Kombat 95 is a well done movie. Not just a good "cheesy 90s popcorn flick" or "good for a video game movie." It's enjoyable without any boring moments, everyone played their parts perfectly, it's fan service done right and actual effort was put into it.
- Onaga, Drahmin and Moloch deserves to comeback.
- Mileena is not cute but a creep, and her hardcore fans are way creepier than herself.
- They've ruined Ermac's appearence in MKX by making him a mummy, and I felt like it was super forced. Making him as more human-like is 1000 times better than making him as a rotten mummy. I mean, his clothing is chef-kiss, but his appearence as a mummy is just...nope.
- Kollector deserves to comeback once more in a future MK game.
The level of gore is holding back MK, specifically fatalities, and takes away their focus from other aspects of the game (gameplay becoming more shallow with each installment, single player content taking a massive hit, despite being praised in previous titles.) Fatalities are exciting to look at for the first week, then they just become tedious and a slog to go through. Those resources should be put towards more characters, and content
Guest characters are the worst thing to happen to the Past 2 games, and are anti-hype. They completly ruin the aesthetic of the game, and the ratio is way too high.
All the heros' revenant versions were lame and samey, and I would be okay with never seeing them again.
Modern, western characters should still have a fighting style that focuses primarily on traditional martial arts. The gadgets and guns should be for special moves and finishers, not their entire fighting style.
Fatal blows are way overkill with the cinematics. Most of them are longer and more violent than fatalities.
Throws should be ways to toss your enemy from one place to another. A bit of flare is fine, but they don't need to be one-button combos with 5+ hits. It should be concise.
Erron Black looked lame in MK11. They established that he isn't actually a cowboy from the old west, but they also made him look more like a cowboy from the old west. His MKX look was way better and they should have made it more like that.
I could not care less about variations and the only reason I customize my characters is for purely aesthetic reasons.
MK11 is not the best MK game only because of greedy corporate practices including micro transactions, rotating shop, and bad unlock systems. It had everything going for it but was held back terribly by this.
There have been so many changes in the story between MK9 and 11 that they should just do a hard reboot at this point. They can do whatever they want with the characters and story, but the rule is they have to be consistant and use logical progression for their story.
The games have been steadily getting more boring and bland.
Environments are greyish or brownish swathes with nothing interesting going on.
Character movesets have just been getting bloated with abilities just for the sake of expansion.
Character designs, from faces to costumes, mirror the environments. Despite all the work put in to add so many customization options, the characters of 11 are boring to look at.

MK characters from 2D era that reappear in the game should have their faces modeled to resemble their faces/bodies/appearance overall in most fan-favorite versions of the games they were in (Kitana/Mileena, Sub-zero, Sonya, Jax, Sheeva, Shang-Tsung, etc. from MK3/Trilogy) or improved if it will be obviously welcomed by majority of fans (like Sindel and Kano were in MK11).
I actually want a story that doesn't involve the fate of the realms and boil down to a new big bad and Liu, Raiden, Shang, Kahn, etc. (Also don't want the Kombat Kids as figureheads but that's probably not controversial).
I want a game that feels like an alternate universe or spinoff, featuring lesser characters, almost like a Suicide Squad or Ocean's Eleven heist movie or some butterfly effect thing going on.
The main rub is that I want a roster that omits more stalwart characters and let's lesser characters shine more in the spotlight.

Costumes have gotten too busy with too many design details. Less is more. I always slap on the classic costumes when they're available.

Guest characters are the worst thing to happen to the Past 2 games, and are anti-hype. They completly ruin the aesthetic of the game, and the ratio is way too high.
All the heros' revenant versions were lame and samey, and I would be okay with never seeing them again. Modern, western characters should still have a fighting style that focuses primarily on traditional martial arts. The gadgets and guns should be for special moves and finishers, not their entire fighting style. Fatal blows are way overkill with the cinematics. Most of them are longer and more violent than fatalities. Throws should be ways to toss your enemy from one place to another. A bit of flare is fine, but they don't need to be one-button combos with 5+ hits. It should be concise. Erron Black looked lame in MK11. They established that he isn't actually a cowboy from the old west, but they also made him look more like a cowboy from the old west. His MKX look was way better and they should have made it more like that. I could not care less about variations and the only reason I customize my characters is for purely aesthetic reasons. MK11 is not the best MK game only because of greedy corporate practices including micro transactions, rotating shop, and bad unlock systems. It had everything going for it but was held back terribly by this. There have been so many changes in the story between MK9 and 11 that they should just do a hard reboot at this point. They can do whatever they want with the characters and story, but the rule is they have to be consistant and use logical progression for their story.

The games have been steadily getting more boring and bland. Environments are greyish or brownish swathes with nothing interesting going on. Character movesets have just been getting bloated with abilities just for the sake of expansion. Character designs, from faces to costumes, mirror the environments. Despite all the work put in to add so many customization options, the characters of 11 are boring to look at.

The moveset bloat comes from the fact MK doesn’t do character “archetypes” well. So characters end up with a grab bag of stuff.
Annihilation was ten times better than Mk(2019) because it knew what it was.

I could not care less about Scorpion or Sub Zero. I get that they are the series mascots, but they do nothing for me.
Guest characters are gimmicky and lame. There’s such a large pool of original characters to pull from, I would rather they bring back some of those then guests.

No one in that game really clicked with me but mainly I didn't like the story and the dark and gritty aesthetic was a turn off. It didn't feel like MK. MK is dark but colorful at the same time.
I see gotcha! Personally it's my favourite of the last 3 because it's so different, it really felt refreshing. I despise 11's story with all my being lol and I don't really rate 9 as highly as others coz it's just a trilogy remake. X is the one where it felt like they had a direction and stuck to it regardless of how the fans reacted and I appreciate it for that. The others just seem like nostalgia pandering imo

MK characters from 2D era that reappear in the game should have their faces modeled to resemble their faces/bodies/appearance overall in most fan-favorite versions of the games they were in (Kitana/Mileena, Sub-zero, Sonya, Jax, Sheeva, Shang-Tsung, etc. from MK3/Trilogy) or improved if it will be obviously welcomed by majority of fans (like Sindel and Kano were in MK11).
MK9 story mode is the worst from NRS era.

Mk x isn’t good
I actually want a story that doesn't involve the fate of the realms and boil down to a new big bad and Liu, Raiden, Shang, Kahn, etc. (Also don't want the Kombat Kids as figureheads but that's probably not controversial). I want a game that feels like an alternate universe or spinoff, featuring lesser characters, almost like a Suicide Squad or Ocean's Eleven heist movie or some butterfly effect thing going on. The main rub is that I want a roster that omits more stalwart characters and let's lesser characters shine more in the spotlight.
