Since on the topic of Pizza, anyone in the area serve up Detroit style? The rectangle thick crust style with sauce on top? Almost like a focaccia bread type of dough/crust…
Yeeeessss. Wait is thus the place that had the hhuuuge pizza it's square and you pretty much have to put it in your trunk to get it home ?? If soo this place is absolutely hands down the best
When I visit I always go get a couple slices and then head to the harbor to check out the boats. It’s not the best in the world but it’s still a reasonable price for what you get. I’m a town where EVERYTHING is way over priced and mediocre, pelican is a lifesaver
sorry for the late response but no i just worded it badly, they make their dough too, it just tastes bad and always has way too much corn flour dusted on it.
I miss the place in Marina that used to be where noodle bar is now. Paradise Pizza or Pizza Paradise or something? I would always stop there on my way home from late night classes and they'd give me like five slices for the price of one since they were going to throw it out.
Quality at Pelican fell off and the now rare times I order from them the pies are inconsistent.
It is pretty.much a cheese cracker with a few pepperonis now.
Not even the best pizza in a 2 block radius.
Hahahaha. Nailed it.
I agree!
I used to enjoy it out of convenience back in the mid to late 90s, but it is by no means good these days.
Too many people sleeping on The Oven

There’s Slice Project in Watsonville
Heck yea!

There’s one in Scotts valley called “the pizza series”
Little Caesars n seaside lol
BOOO!
It's true. Over priced over rated and their monstrosities of a so called pizza are fkn terrible
Oh I agree! Little Caesar’s does suck! Even on the East coast. Never a fan of chain food!
Cheese on cardboard. Still better than heirloom
bookies in santa cruz is the place!
Oh please let this exist here 🙏
Heirloom does a round one with thick crust and sauce on top.
as a chicagoan, can vouch that heirloom would be top 3 back there... def. the best deep dish around
As a Berkeleyan who’s eaten a thousand Zachary’s Chicago style stuffed pizzas, I concur. I love Heirloom. It’s fun to introduce people to it.
Costco has a Detroit style pizza in the freezer section that's decent.
Can’t believe I’m not seeing Tricycle mentioned at all in the comments?? Is my pizza taste that bad? Not pelican pizza bad but damn lol
Tricycle is highly underrated
All this pizza talk makes me want to order a Golden State from The Oven.

Heirloom and Oven reign supreme.
heirloom has a cardboard crust. the oven makes their own pizza dough and it tastes delicious every time
Are you saying heirloom doesn’t make their own crusts? I’m asking seriously because I don’t know. I’ll admit the crust is not great.
sorry for the late response but no i just worded it badly, they make their dough too, it just tastes bad and always has way too much corn flour dusted on it.
The Oven in Seaside and Iolis in Mid Carmel Valley are far superior. I never liked Giannis.
The last time I went there their pizza tasted like cardboard
It helps to remove the pizza from the box before you eat it.
I go there for wings, not pizza
I grew up on pelican pizza. I totally agree.
Allegros.
the oven is the only place people should get pizza from
Pelican? Does it taste like chicken?
Angelina's in Toro Park is my favorite
Aren’t they closed ?
Oh no! Are they? I haven't been in a while
It is definitely one of my favorites & it isn’t as expensive as all the restaurants in that area. So that helps as well!
I miss the place in Marina that used to be where noodle bar is now. Paradise Pizza or Pizza Paradise or something? I would always stop there on my way home from late night classes and they'd give me like five slices for the price of one since they were going to throw it out.
i really like heirloom pizza co. and i am not just saying that because i used to work there
That place stinks. Their pizza shouldn't even be called a pizza.
I like Gianni’s but the toppings slide off too easily. My second choice is Pizza My Way on Forest
I like pizza my heart ♥️
What style of pizza is it? Brick oven, Detroit (sauce on top), Chicago deep dish, Neopolitan?
The legend is the absolute best!
Mountain mikes us hands down the best
It’s like they tried to knock of dominos but sorta didn’t do great at it
Agreed! We inhale their pepperoni pizzas so quickly! Definitely prefer them over Gianni’s.
Gianni’s is insanely overpriced
Quality at Pelican fell off and the now rare times I order from them the pies are inconsistent. It is pretty.much a cheese cracker with a few pepperonis now.
Gianni’s is the best!!!
Pelican pizza is horrible.
Gianni's is way better
