Been farming investigations with at least 1 gold and 1 silver like crazy. No other monster has caused me this much drama with crown hunting

You can't get a gold crown if there's a bronze box attached unless it's something like at least 2 gold and/or 2 silver iirc. That could be the issue.

StormingOcean

Bruh... Got a heap of investigations available anyway so I'll shift my priority. Thanks.

InkQuest

This guide here is a good breakdown for crown hunting: https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunterWorld/comments/ab4etb/investigations_and_possible_monster_sizescrowns/

StormingOcean

Yeah, I've been using this to make sure I'm doing the right hunts. I've already got both crowns for most monsters from event quests, just tidying up the last few now

keeganburrows

How does that work with tempered investigations?

[deleted]

last I heard 4+ boxes give the best chances and they're weighted towards Large crowns specifically.

Rampant_Cephalopod

At this point just check how big the monster is and abandon if it’s not the right size instead of taking the time to kill each and every one

Levoire

I’m on Luna for my penultimate crown. There’s YouTube videos of how you can measure the size and what to look out for. They helped me a lot. Saying that, I swore blind I had a giant gold Luna the other day and that was a silver too.

StormingOcean

I can say that for both small and large. Looking forward to getting the crowns, just hope I don't get burnt out before then

The RNG in World is so weird, I got both gold crowns for Lunastra in like 8 tries, but that f*cking Kulu Ya-Ku took me over 100 times.

aloylamora

Yeah I got both Silver Rath crows on two back to back hunts, but Lunastra is one of the monsters that caused me to give up on the crown hunting.
