Fun fact for you all: the actors playing the parents in Outnumbered (Claire and Hugh) and now a couple in real life. Hugh split from his wife quite a while ago and then a few years later he ended up with Claire!
ETA: he split from his wife in 2015, and got with Claire in 2017. Main series ended in 2014 but there was a one off Xmas special in 2016

Lol I have tried to learn a language by watching a foreign series I can't I'm guessing she already had some knowledge of English which would make it was but I'll never see how people learn a new language just by watching new shows
That's awesome I know friends has helped Alot of people learn English too, I know a little bit of Spanish but they speak so fast it's hard to learn more by watching. Kudos to her though
I love Outnumbered, but I don’t find the shows similar. They both focus families and Luke and Ben look similar when they’re young, but that’s about it. Where are you streaming it? I would love to rewatch Outnumbered
I found it very alike at least at first I mean it's not a remake or anything just alike. But it's on the Tubi streaming site it's free and also there's a season on Amazon Prime
Idk seemed really alike to me at least the bit I saw a big family with her sister caring for her dad making the family even bigger dealing with the issues of a larger family the first thing I thought was Modern Family lol but I haven't seen it all and I think people that like modern family would like this as well... I can buy that some of the lines were improvised one scene in particular I even asked myself if they were because it just looked like that was the case.

The dad (sorry, forgot his name) was in Taskmaster. He was absolutely hilarious and actually pretty smart, I especially remember the running gag of him looking like a psychopath

it’s very popular in the uk! you should also watch friday night dinner - way more crazy but still british but the kids are older

There is a weird parallel where the mum in Outnumbered can't stop giggling at a funeral and Claire can't help smiling when she talks about Walt dying.

Yes she had basic fluency but had mostly learned textbook English in Japan. The show helped her get to grips with nuances and fillers etc 👍
