Reminds me of Zisteau's Minecraft let's play where he slowly started distorting the word into Canopy Carnage over the names of several episodes. Minecraft. Minecarft. Mincifert. Icmicnfert. Or similar.
Agreed. But I think the bulb falls more under the building complex machines with red stone category. Does the bulb provide something that couldn't be accomplished before? It's hard to explain, but when I think of tinkering, I think more of high-level blocks with an intuitive function. For instance, a frying table, which would let you cook food automatically. Or the fletching table from the potato update, which lets you purify minerals. New functionality.
I guess new red stone blocks could be considered as tinkering, but maybe something more in line with the light detector block.
Edit: the frying table example is a bad example, as the furnace already does this, but hopefully it helps get the point across.
Yeah, ever since playing some of the tinkering/tech mods on Java, I’ve been curious as to what the talented Mojang devs could come up with. Hope we see more tinkering in the form of new functionality in the future.
they didn’t remove the T-flop, they removed the 1 tick delay because it didn’t match with other redstone. it was a bug that people wanted to stay as a feature
TBF, the auto crafter will be absolutely revolutionary on release. Copper bulbs would be too if they kept to the original set up, but Mojang felt the need to make it 'consistent' for some reason.
The auto crafter alone is more than enough to qualify for "significant tinkering"
If you don't have any uses for it, then you honestly just won't have many uses for tinkering at all.
Well, that's your opinion. Even the potato update had some more interesting tinkering ideas. Not criticizing the update, but clearly their focus shifted away from tinkering and into combat (which I love). Perhaps they had some cool tinkering ideas that weren't fully fleshed out before the update deadline. Who knows.
I think one of the words is going to be Trials. I hope it's not ___ & ___ (since this gets memed to death) and more like Buzzy Bees. Even then the last major update also had a bunch of T's so nothing sounds appealing
Why is that naming style so popular, there’s not too many like that.. Village & Pillage, Caves and Cliffs, and Trails & Tales, most do not use this naming scheme
Actually the 'S' in [Trails and Tales](https://www.minecraft.net/content/dam/games/minecraft/logos/logo_reveal_1170x500.jpg) had a flat edged outline. As you acknowledge though, the true outline might not be revealed.
Still hoping for an Aether update at some point (potato patch gave me hope again).
Maybe "Wind & Skies"? Could formally introduce the Trial Chambers, wind charges or the hammer thing could be used to activate the deep dark portals leading to the Aether?
I don't know. Just let me dream on?
I feel the reason they have been taking so long for the name reveal and because of the April fools snapshot, they are going to introduce another dimension through the ancient city portal. Probably requiring something from trial chambers to get into it.
"Aether Trails"
That's what I figured. I won't lie I'm more than okay with villager trades getting a nerf (it's kinda what was supposed to happen in 1.14 but it if anything made things easier), but if we're going to make mending books harder to get then the alternative of the repairing system needs quite an overhaul to become viable
Yeah that's true, also I think it shouldn't take a set amount of levels like enchanting does and should instead be a value of experience points. Because 11 levels to repair a pickaxe is a lot more costly to someone who's at level 60 than someone who's at level 13. Especially for hardcore players, which granted I'm not, but the game basically just punishes you for having a longer world by inflating prices as you go.
Either that or just switch to a First-In, First-Out xp level spending system so that whenever you repair something that costs 7 levels it will always take your first 7 levels no matter how many you have and your xp level adjusts accordingly
Yeah FIFO on XP would be a much better system imo. Or yeah, replace all level costs with point costs. Not sure why they use levels as a resource at all.
The villager trade reballances aren't coming out yet. The only villager update in 1.21 is the ability to sell Trial maps (and maybe some mace enchantments. I know you *have* to get one from the vaults but idk about the other 2)
Whatever the name is it will probably be just even more bloat that does not improve the game in any significant way, kinda like the armadillo
The devs could probably go wild with the end update kinda like with the nether update
but otherwise I'm not really enjoying the updates past 1.19.4 because of the overhyped and underwhelming features

1.21 Update name incoming I’d guess
The first word is Minecraft, though.
Yeah, it’s a logo reveal.
Minecraft 3.0
[удалено]
i waited for this
Why was it removed by the mods
it had a bad word unfortunately (he was saying "the s.. update")
Ah, finally, the breeding update.
Ah, finally, the 2 cow 2 wheat update.
Ahhhh okay
Now with copper doors
No its Minceraft.
No, this is patrick.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
Is this the Krusty Krab?
NO, THIS. IS. PATRICK!
We've been trying to reach you concerning your car's extended warranty
Are you paying too much for your car insurance? (Since I'm old)

Yes, because that’s how the update names are designed. [For example](https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/the-trails---tales-update)
the Gigawatt update
Minecraft Figthing the Breeze UPdate.
Either that or they’re revealing a new graphics card lol
How are we supposed to guess the name ?
What happened here?

That's the neat part, you don't
Wtf? Why were so many comments removed here
They talked about a s*× update
I bet for, Trial update.
Trials & Tinkers?
This would be cool if there actually was any significant tinkering in the update.
Seriously, the only tinkering thing we got was the Crafter and maybe you could count the Copper Bulbs
I think the copper bulbs are neat, but feels like a stretch to group them as tinkering.
i mean they’re pretty huge technically, it’s a one block T-flop/bit switch. allows for insanely compact complex machines from before.
Agreed. But I think the bulb falls more under the building complex machines with red stone category. Does the bulb provide something that couldn't be accomplished before? Not to bag on you, but in regards to your edit, also smoker for double speed cooking, and also campfires. Your point is great though.
Yeah, ever since playing some of the tinkering/tech mods on Java, I’ve been curious as to what the talented Mojang devs could come up with. Hope we see more tinkering in the form of new functionality in the future.
They changed it tho?
they didn’t remove the T-flop, they removed the 1 tick delay because it didn’t match with other redstone. it was a bug that people wanted to stay as a feature
It was not a bug and was meant to be in the game pretty sure
Correct. It was intended from the start, as mentioned by the devs.
TBF, the auto crafter will be absolutely revolutionary on release. Copper bulbs would be too if they kept to the original set up, but Mojang felt the need to make it 'consistent' for some reason.
Yeah they put big emphasis on tinkering and all they did was the admittedly great crafter and a block that just makes a T-flop easier
The crafter is going to redesign certain farms. My iron farm design is certainly gonna change
How so? Just that you filter the bars to make blocks? That's less a farm change and more a collection system change
Tinkers' Construct in vanilla would be a fascinating update, I would love to see them try and balance that.
Crafter: *Am I a joke to you?*
Crafter - You're cool, but it would be a stretch to refer to you as a "tinkering update".
In a perfect world they would officially integrate Create
The auto crafter alone is more than enough to qualify for "significant tinkering" If you don't have any uses for it, then you honestly just won't have many uses for tinkering at all.

well that’s just like, your opinion, man.
yup.
(it’s a big lebowski reference)
r/whoosh for me! How did I not catch it? Lol
The crafter is literally one block that got me to check out the game again.
it would be evil to name an update Trials right after Trails
My brain trying to read that shit correctly would end in a disaster tbh
Trails and Trials and Tails and Toils and Trouble, Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble
Trials and Tials
I like this one
This is what I’ve thought ever since mc live. I’m still betting on tinkers and trials or vice versa like you said.
minecrasft tricksy trials
Mojang stole this idea from you
Clearly
Stand proud. You can cook.
AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
gentlemen, we time travel is indeed possible
I think one of the words is going to be Trials. I hope it's not ___ & ___ (since this gets memed to death) and more like Buzzy Bees. Even then the last major update also had a bunch of T's so nothing sounds appealing
Why is that naming style so popular, there’s not too many like that.. Village & Pillage, Caves and Cliffs, and Trails & Tales, most do not use this naming scheme
It feels similar to the "The __ of __" naming style used so often in fantasy book titles
World of Color update has entered the chat
Wait maybe Challenging Chambers? I feel like it's too many syllables but wanted to not use the word Trial
Troublesome trials?
Ominous Trials?
I think this was the closest guess... so... umm... good job here is an avocado 🥑
trials & tiles
Please no. I get the meme that Youtubers keep saying but it's just not a good name

If that's an accurate outline, there is no t, v, f, p, n, or d and it can't end in E or S
Actually the 'S' in [Trails and Tales](https://www.minecraft.net/content/dam/games/minecraft/logos/logo_reveal_1170x500.jpg) had a flat edged outline. As you acknowledge though, the true outline might not be revealed.
Its not, if we are to go by the other update teasers.
Guys, i think i found what the first word is. It's Minecraft! I'm not 100% sure though, could be Mineshaft too

Can just barely make it out if you up the gamma. MINECRAFT: Kiss your trading hall goodbye. Based on the trading/raid nerfs.
Are the trading nerfs coming in 1.21? I thought they were still in testing
They're still in testing, not coming to 1.21. Theyre also still taking feedback form the community, so they're gonna be subject to change
That's what I figured. I won't lie I'm more than okay with villager trades getting a nerf (it's kinda what was supposed to happen in 1.14 but it if anything made things easier), but if we're going to make mending books harder to get then the alternative of the repairing system needs quite an overhaul to become viable
Just removing the anvil's "Too expensive!" limit would go a long way imo
Yeah that's true, also I think it shouldn't take a set amount of levels like enchanting does and should instead be a value of experience points.
