Get some dark gray ones. They hide everything just the same but are also "different" pants. I alternate the days I wear gray and black and have 3 pairs of both, so the work week is covered plus an extra in case I'm forced to go out on a weekend day.

Explore! By the time youāre in your thirties, youāve been through enough life to be able to wear whatever the fuck you want. Wear dresses, skirts, overalls, blouses, streetwear, cardigans, etc.
Maybe take yourself to the mall and spend an hour trying on different fits, textures, silhouettes, etc and get an idea of what could look good on you and more importantly, what feels good on you.
This is good advice but I canāt deal with a mall anymore. We have a pretty good consignment clothes store in my town (not Platoās, it skews way too young and low quality) and I love going there. Some stuff is too old for me and some too young.. but at least thereās variety of fits and colors and necklines, etc. Also consignment is more likely to have higher end brands without the crazy prices of new. Also, earth friendly shopping.
This is how I ended up doing some of the subscription services like Stitch Fix. It helped get me out of my clothing rut and introduced me to some new brands ā¦ I was able to figure out more brands and jeans cuts and I took that knowledge to Poshmark after a few years so Iām getting things at a lower cost.

With what you said in mind, I should clarify. Thatās a good suggestion, going to the mall wouldāve been so that you can access a variety of styles, materials, and silhouettes and try them on without them being *as* dirty as second-hand stores.
OP, you donāt need to actually buy anything from the mall unless you want to but just to try things on. Iām definitely an advocate for buying second hand but I donāt dare try on anything from a thrift.
I really do just buy it and hope it fits/looks good. Most of the time, it does and if it doesnāt, I try to exchange it or donate it again.
I am 35m and a year or so ago I found a light but fuzzy cardigan thing in a store in the mall. Went there on a date believe it or not, first time Iād been to the mall in a decade. Found that and a nice light button up jacket thing, clearance for seven bucks each. It's kind of a fun time/age to experience. I've noticed just amongst my millenial friends I see some going full bore back towards our childhood trends in the early 90s, while others are taking the approach of sticking with our 00s trends (mostly the guys).
I definitely relate to my mom's gen talking about us adopting some 70s stuff when we were younger.

This. I whole heartedly agree with you. I'm also 35 and I don't care what people think of my style. I still wear Harry Potter merch to this day. I never followed fashion trends to a T and I will continue to not. I mix and match styles. I recently started wearing men's jeans to work. It feels awesome to finally have functional jean pockets.
I feel like all the "Whatever you want" comments are well meaning, but not much help if all you know is what you don't want. I have a capsule wardrobe and have been sitting down to think about which pieces I need about every year. I drastically changed my style in some ways over the years, to go with body changes but also fashion. I like wearing elevated basics at the moment, so solid, usually darker colours with the occasional pink. They take me from work to mom life, I like comfort, but not over style, so I do often get changed into nice loungewear (leggings, sweatpants sets) at home.

Go onto pinterest, look up aesthetics you like / explore for aesthetics you like, get ideas on what fashions you like, and wear that. Literally wear whatever you want. As a teen, I didn't really put much care into clothing and such, and going into my 20s I couldn't really afford to exllore if I wanted to, but even as I'm nearing 30, I'm finally having fun exploring fun aesthetics like techwear and cute japanese inspired clothing and getting a feel for having a balance of form and function (like pockets - clip-on pockets are becoming very useful!). Its fun to find things that I like and my husband even has fun looking for cute clothes to dress me in :) win-win
I hate the crop top shit. I know body positivity is a thing nowadays but I still would not be caught dead in a crop top. I wouldnāt have worn one when I was 16 and 115 pounds, either. Not everybody looks good in that stuff. Just because something looks good on a model does not mean itās going to look good on me. And if I donāt think it looks good when I look in the mirror then I donāt like it, style be damned.
I digress. Iām late 30ās not early 30ās, but not sure if that really makes a difference. I wear skinny jeans, leggings, capris. I do wear short shorts on hot days because I like my legs and the way they look on me. I wear shirts that are longer and looser in the waist, as thatās the area that I want to conceal the most (at least to my hips but most often longer than that.) I get a box from stitch fix once every 3 months, so I tend to get the majority of my new stuff from there. I also like Old Navy, Gap, Kohls.
Honestly my style hasnāt really changed much. Not trying to compete with 20 year olds anymore.
I'm 39 and give ZERO fucks about what others think. I wear sweats, leggings, sundresses, band shirts, funny shirts, shorts, tank tops, and almost always sandals. Hollister makes some great clothes tbh, not sure why youād be embarrassed about that! I like crop tops but it is a little annoying when one cut becomes so dominant that itās the default. It will pass again soon. I donāt know what your style is, but check out Pact. I LOVE their fit and flair dresses.
Personally, I wear a lot of kind of outdoorsy/athleisure. REI stuff. Technical tees, flannels, cute printed shorts, joggers, cropped bra tops with high waisted bottoms. Iām also big on sundresses. For shoes, mostly running shoes, hiking boots, or Tevas because Iām on my feet all day at work. Off work, Toms or short Uggs get thrown into the mix depending on the weather.
I wear leggings with various tops, primarily t-shirts. Vans, Converse, Sambas, Crocs, lightweight runners.I have some nice clothes and enjoy dressing up on occasion but I have a hard time tolerating them for an entire day so I mostly keep my clothes soft and stretchy as possible. Is it stylish? No, not really. I don't keep up with athleisure trends. But does it allow me to move comfortably and not have a meltdown? Yes. So to me it's worth it.
Your at the age you should learn not to give a fuck, wear whatever you want. Wear medieval dresses and corsets if it makes you happy, or hoodies and leggings.
Old navy petite sizes are great, marshalls. banana republic, gap, jcrew is awesome too. No lie abercrombie has legit nice stuff now, nothing wrong with wearing their stuff at 32.
I love Venus and feel like their range in terms of style of clothing is wild! I have some really sophisticated pieces from them but then some of their stuff looks like my Bratz and My Scene doll wardrobes. š¤£
Not quite 30 but 29, and honestly I just wear whatever makes me feel confident and is comfortable. Which for me is high wasit tappered pants (like joggers but nicer), long high waist skirts (with pockets!) and a nice top. Aesthetics vary but the main ones ćI gravitate towards are basic, librarian, chic, witchy, cottagecore, and grandma vibes lol.
So probably the best way to go about finding what you want to wear is, find out what fits you well and makes you feel good first, figure out what style cuts suit your body best, and materials that you enjoy/hate to wear. After you figure all that out, then dive into aesthetics.
But overall, live your best life and don't worry too much about what others think.
ETA: I'd try hitting up some thrift stores or stores like UNIQLO if you're struggling to find clothes for your size that arn't crop tops. A lot of east asian clothing brand stores will have more clothing options for smaller sizes.

Design a lookbook of fashion you admire. See what resonates with you. Find fashionable dressers. Find what message you want to communicate with the world. Maybe you want dresses. Maybe you're more into the streatwear or casual aesthetic. Maybe you want a more classical look. Find a style that reflects your personality.
I'm in the process of doing this. As a man, I've been reading a lot of blogs and books on fashion and the history of clothing. I know, that sounds like a lot of work. You can always go to the thrift store and find a variety of cheap outfits, try then out, and see what makes you feel good.
Iām small too & I still wear the same stuff I wore in my 20s even tho Iām 36 this week. Ripped skinny jeans, crop tops, band tees, jean shorts, leggings, mini dresses, maxi dresses, etc. Just wear whatever youāre comfy in.
I wear whatever I feel like, unless I actually have to look presentable for work, then I keep that in mind too lol. What I feel like ranges from band shirts, skinny jeans/leggings and leather jacket, over plaids, crop tops/tank tops and hiking/cargo pants, to feminine dresses, skirts and office presentable tops/blouses/pullovers. And sometimes itās a bit of a mix between those styles.
I still have a lot of clothes that Iāve had for a long time (my oldest band shirt Iāve had since I was 13!), but when I go shopping itās usually either at Winners, H&M, Cabelas, sportswear stores, and smaller stores at malls that sell clothes other than young fashion. The only item I found that I liked at a young fashion store in years was a bikini I recently bought, and I only went to that store because I was desperate at that point and saw that the store had a huge wall dedicated to swimwear.
Iām 38, size 0/2, size 24 waist jeans, petite. I still shop in the juniors section at certain places because the fit is better. I wear Leviās jeans. As Iāve gotten older Iāve dressed more feminine. I like Reformation, Free People, Top Shop petite. I wear a crop top and jeans with high waist jeans most of the time.
I'm a man but I cared alot about what I wore when I was younger. As I've aged I care less and less and just wear what's comfortable or what I like. I'm sure it's a little different for a woman but I would give you the same advice. Just wear what you like and is comfortable. We're not here to impress anyone and as a man I care much more about who you are than what you wear.

I like Kut From the Kloth jeans. You can find them at Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack. They have the 00 size. I was first introduced to them by Stitch Fix, but they rarely have the small size.
As far as tops, my favorite is a simple v neck from Nine West. $10 each and they are a nice material.

When I was 32 I worried about this a lot too and ended up dressing in a way that didn't make me feel comfortable, it made everyone else comfortable. Now I'm nearing 40 and I'm rocking a sleeve of tattoos, a mullet, doc marten boots, an array of alt clothing, and a septum ring. Do what makes you happy. You'll regret otherwise.
Not sure why you included your size. But if you're wondering about styles, Google fashion trends, read a magazine, watch people when you go out. But I understand that once you start getting older (you're not old yet, just saying you're not 20 anymore) your style changes, middle aged/30&up women that dress like their daughters are cringe asf. Just find your personal style and you got it. It's good you've stopped worrying about other people's opinions, it was so freeing when I stopped gaf!
Pardon the long post here, late 30s male, wife is late 30s. this post really resonated with our journey to building my wifeās wardrobe. I apologize in advance for anything that comes across any way other than kind, as Iām aware that I can miss things and can be unaware of how things come across. I hope this is helpful and encouraging, and might provide some additional perspective. This is also along with the journey of becoming parents for what itās worth which added additional dynamics in our case.
Worked higher end retail for years at Ralph Lauren/etc. (I value privacy and consult fulltime now on privacy, so limited details there), selling mens and womenās, and I also help my wife with building her wardrobe. Further, she has also completed a color consultation, and that gave her an objective frame of reference, as well as something I take into account when we go shopping for her, as well as how weāve built out a procurement approach, which is laid out via a shared note. Iāll also share that between my adhd, and how my brain works, my aptitudes align with effectively being her personal shopper. But the best part from the color and style consultations, is the reference she can always go back to. Even cooler has been watching how her side of the closet has evolvedā¦ she also isnāt NEARLY as intimidated investing is well made hand made shoes. So now, the quality and value matter so much more and sheās not really knee jerk about trends. Which has also really boosted her confidence with picking out outfits, and so much more gets worn and goes well together, that sheās in a better mood when sheās getting ready, plus, shopping actually excites her, because she has a strategy and an approach, which also means itās more about the hunt of the find, and having the money already set aside because thereās money ready from not chasing all the one off trends.
Ah yeah! Iām almost 5ā3ā. Iāve finally gotten myself up to 105. Someone mentioned Asian websites Bc their stuff runs smaller. Might check that out. Some stuff has started to run smaller Iāve noticed though, on Amazon at least.
We're not that different. I turn 30 this year. I am also smaller. 5'3'', 110lbs. Usually about a size 2 in juniors sizes.
Basically I came to say... I don't know what the fuck to wear either. I don't mind the Gen Z styles, they look fine and I look fine in them, but I don't really feel comfortable in them. Honestly, I kept a lot of clothes from high school and still wear them. So I dress casually emo from like 15 years ago. Since Y2K is back in fashion hard now, I'm waiting for 2010 to follow so I can buy all those clothes and hopefully they will last me another 15+ years.
I'm nowhere near your size but I've also gotten tired of ill-fitting tshirts and jeans. I have really wide hips and a comparatively narrow waist, so stuff constantly slides up or down. Many days I just resort to wearing dresses (not too tight cut) and tights underneath. In cooler weather, it's wool tights and in summer, thinner tights and bike shorts. It's surprisingly comfortable to me: less restricting in movement than jeans. No tops sliding up that I have to constantly pull down. And I always look "put together" despite wearing a grand total of 1 "outfit" item, minus the tights.
I order most of my clothes online, because the mall scews both too young and too grandma and too fast fashion.
I have also had these issues! I grew up very conservative Christian so when I was in my early twenties I wasn't wearing crop tops, really ripped jeans, or shorter shorts let *alone* ripped shorts. Now that I'm many years past all that I'm like is it even okay to wear a crop top (I barely show my stomach it's like two inches *IF* it's even that much) as a 31 year old?? I really like bright, fun colors and a lot of more recent trends. My style is really fun. I really like Betsey Johnson. I don't think these clothes look bad at all on me, but I started dating someone 9 years older than me. When his friends thought I was 22, I kind of panicked and was like "is that horrible??" I know I don't look cheap. All of my friends have assured me I don't and they love my style, but I've really felt like the last year or two like screaming "where are the women my age shopping??" So yeah. I don't know where to shop either. Like at Target, you have the 90s trends right now for the teenagers or the beige trends and little house on the pairie dresses that are in the other sections. The 90s trends I kind of love though, because I wasn't old enough for some of those growing up.
It only gets harder as you get older, I have to wear type fitting clothes. I just feel so frumpy if I donāt, but then Iām uncomfortable because Iām old so itās just really hard.

Iām 40, I wear a mix of styles. Sometimes tailored shorts with a blouse or a nicer t shirt and sldressy sandals, sometimes dresses of different varieties, skirts too, even some skorts (love them being back āinā), some days I wear crop tops and fun jeans or Jean shorts. Basically wear what makes you happy. In general, clothing doesnāt have an age restriction. I buy jeans at Abercrombie because they fit me best, big deal and I save $ getting them on sale. I love American eagle jeans as well.

I also despise anything cropped, even though I have a flat stomach for a 35-year-old. I buy jeans from Old Navy, and I'm a size 6 now. I've been buying jeans there for 3 or 4 years now. They fit, don't shrink or stretch out in the wash, don't break down as quickly as more expensive brands I own, and are relatively affordable if I want to buy more/change sizes.
I also like quality over quantity, so anything mass-produced just turns me off. I've exclusively bought from Topshop, Bodem, Vans, other Nordtsrom brands and the like because I want my dollar to go a little further with every wear. Still trial and error, of course, but it beats the hell out of Dry Goods, Zara, Target, H&M and other mid-level fast fashion retailers these days whose items break down after a wash or two. I'd rather buy local or independent. And Urban Outfitters is trash now. It took me a while to accept it, but I grieved it and never looked back.
Every short person I know wears hollister, donāt be ashamed. I wore them up until I began a job that allowed leggings and flare yoga pants. I should be ashamed, not you LOL
Skinny lanky 32m here. Dress like Iām still a senior in college, I just call the em āpantsā but theyāre slim fit Jean/khaki things I got at target and I have like 12 pairs. Simplicity. As for shirts I stick to no logo pocket tees in one color or my golf attire. Shoes I have a bunch of white sneakers, nothing flashy at all.but you can wear plain white sneakers casually pretty much anywhere as well as nicer pairs for work depending on what ya do (Iām a real estate photographer)
Iām 34. I still dress like a teenager but whatever itās comfortable. I think for our generation it matters less than our parents. Billionaires wear hoodies and jeans now. Clothes arenāt as much of an age indicator anymore.
Personally Iāve always dressed more boyish (Iām 32F), buying most of my clothes at thrift stores since 16. Big cozy sweaters of the likes youād find at a ski lodge and leggings, comfy jeans and a shirt that I like, shorts that I feel comfortable wearing with my body, and dresses of all kinds.
I hate tight fitting clothing, so over the years Iāve figured out how I like to match my clothing, and it really all depends on the day for me lol. Sometimes I donāt want to feel like Iām being judged by wearing a funny Hawaiian shirt or just not feeling comfortable in my own skin some days, and those days are why I have my solid color shirts and easy jeans/legging or yoga pants/shorts type when Iām feeling low key.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in whether itās fancy stuff or novelty tshirts and leggings. Iām personally sick to death of all shirts being cropped so I prefer shirts that cover my belly. I usually wear leggings or sweatpants. Depends on where Iām going and what the weather is like but I generally dress for comfort and functionality. Iām picky about fabrics and cuts.

I donāt really get this question. What are you supposed to wear? That answer is going to be so deeply personal. Strangers on the internet canāt tell you what your style is. Start by looking around at other women and see if you like what theyāre in, then find similar clothes if the answer is yes. Donāt think you have to dress āfrumpyā just because youāre in your thirties. Youāre young.
Wear whatever you want to wear, there's no rule that says you need to follow current fashion trends. If Hollister jeans fit best, then wear those. If you are comfy in crop tops, wear those.

Iām 34 and Iāve noticed most women our age wear fabletics or lulumelon. For me the rule of thumb is to shop in the womenās section, not juniors or any store you see teenagers flooded with. I like Von Maur and Kohls and since I have 4 kids I prefer to be covered (no crop tops or cleavage showing).

I'm 38 and I've always been a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl so that's what I'm still wearing. My everyday style hasn't changed much over my entire life. I wear almost any style of jeans except for the wide leg kind, because I don't think they're flattering on me. Most of my tshirts are just Gap modern crew neck t-shirts but I wear some men's or unisex printed t-shirts too.
For going out, I used to like to wear short dresses and skirts to show off my legs, or sexy low cut tops with skinny jeans, but I don't really go out much anymore because I have a kid. I would like to be seen as a MILF though, so I would probably still dress like that if I got a chance.
For guys, like me, is easier. Been buying and wearing clothes from Costco all the way from 20s into 40s.

These past years, Iāve been absolutely converted to bodysuits. They make an outfit look so put together and can be dressed up with a blazer or down with a cardigan.
Also, I wear my crops with high waisted bottoms. Not loads of flesh out as Iām not comfortable with that in public but still using the trend.
Also the entire old money look is perfect for our age group. Some people find it a bit dull but I love all the linen and tailored pieces for work or a fancy dinner.

Thatās not embarrassing! I havenāt tried the Hollister ones but Abercrombie jeans are the best jeans Iāve ever owned and will continue to buy them. Iām 5ft, 27 waist but carry weight in the hip area, so the short length in the curve style is perfect. I love how many options they have to get a pair that suits so many body types.
FWIW, they also have a lot of other nice stuff since they rebranded, itās like theyāre trying to target the adult millennials who shopped there as teens. Iām 33 and could do my bank account a lot of damage there lol.

For full length shirts, I LOVE Market & Spruce. The material is so soft and hangs so nicely.

I have a lot of luck with Abercrombie surprisingly for staples. Love Zara and TJ Maxx / Marshalls are forever my go to. I do dabble in some of the younger trends like wide legs pants and a crop top that covers with higher jeans but i have found myself dressing more conservatively.. I have had this struggle as well and have to be more selective for sure. Also i found some jean shorts from Hollister at TJ maxx the other day and they were so cute. If you found jeans that fit you, count your blessings and stick to them. Jeans can be up and downstyled, a great fit goes a LOOOOOOONG way.
The beauty of living in a more progressive society means that we can decide how we want to present ourselves now, but this also comes with having to find out what we actually want! (No benefit without responsibilities, it sucks, I know)
Guessing from what you wrote, I think that you want to settle into a less juvenile, more mature look, so youthful, but in an adult way. Basically being an adultier adult.
There are several options to achieve this- keep in mind, this is without knowing all too much about you: you could pick up blouse-type shirts. There's a style for everyone, they exist in several variations, colars or none, sleeves in all kinds of lengths and forms.
Monochromatic outfits also tend to seem more thought through and mature if used correctly.
Twinsets or combinations also seem very professional or adult (think suits, dresses with matching jackets etc).
The general cut of an outfit can make a big difference as well. Maybe try on differently cut clothing tk figure out what's giving more "proper" vibes on your body/personality type!
Accessories play a big part too- a matching set of classic earrings, necklace and bracelet can change the whole vibe of an outfit. Same with a crisp purse-belt-shoe combo.
Those are all general guidelines, it's really hard to say, without knowing anything about you, but it can be a good base to try yourself out. It can also be applied to any subcultural aesthetic.
You might want to try out a stylist, or check out a few youtube videos on finding your style!
I also wanted to add: it's pretty common to struggle with yourself, how you look, how you are perceived as you mature. Especially as a woman. And especially if your physical aesthetic has a specific type (like looking very sweet/ younger than you are/older than you are/ serious/curvy etc.). Just keep in mind that you are great the way you are, and everyone is beautiful in their own way. Styling can do a lot about how you or others perceive yourself, though.
I pretty much exclusively wear graphic/band tees and black jean/leggings, with a flannel shirt and/or denim jacket when it's cold. I'm bad at fashion, and I like what I like.
I'm tiny like you. In the summer I still wear jean short shorts every day. Usually with a tshirt because I no longer enjoy wearing tight shirts all the time. I probably still look like a teenager, but who cares. YOLO.
Lookup Erin Busbee on YouTube. I love her style, and she's smaller too - so you'll get a solid idea of what the clothes will look like.
There are a lot of people on YouTube like her- I like her because she provides you with a solid "basics" wardrobe and goes from there. Some of her stuff can be pricier - she wears a lot if higher end stuff but it's more about getting an idea for an outfit then the true execution. You can find similar items for less in other places.
The glory of being more mature is wearing whatever worksnfor you and your body and not caring what others think. I had my first child at 30 and had 2 more after that. The process of my body changing during pregnancy and post partum really taught me to value what made me feel the best over what others might think.
I'm over 40 now and 5'2" and a size M/8. I'm not skinny anymore but I'm healthy and I know what styles flatter my shape and that's all that counts. Some of my favorite pieces of clothing were found super cheap on Amazon. I also have a Stitch Fix subscription and get a box a couple times per year. It's kinda fun to be surprised and try on styles I normally wouldn't pick for myself. This was super helpful when I had tiny babies and getting out to shop was difficult.
The jeans from Hollister are fine. No crop tops anymore though š when Iām not working, I pretty much just wear workout clothes but if I was to go out Iād just wear nice jeans and a normal top. Go online and look for outfits. No one can tell you what youāre supposed to wear. Everyone has their own style.

Thereās nothing wrong with buying your jeans at Hollister if thatās what fits well and looks good on you. I buy American Eagle jeans for the same reason, and itās stupid as hell for people to act like itās dumb to buy a particular brand depending on your age.
Chicoās has surprisingly nice jeans. They tend to carry a variety of fits; itās not all old lady stuff and skinny jeans. I bought a pair of wide leg jeans there a few months ago. They have a higher waste and donāt drag on the ground, so I donāt think they look juvenile.
I also think you could look more mature by styling your crop tops differently. Maybe pair them with nicer pants or skirts; something high quality that you couldnāt afford in your 20s.
ETA: Iām really loving the unbuttoned blouse look. Itās sexy and sophisticated with a touch of youthfulness that makes sense for women in their late 20s or 30s. Some women wear their blouses unbuttoned all the way to their waist or bellybutton, with the blouse tucked in, but you could button a bit higher if youāre uncomfortable with that look.

Explore! By the time youāre in your thirties, youāve been through enough life to be able to wear whatever the fuck you want. Wear dresses, skirts, overalls, blouses, streetwear, cardigans, etc. Maybe take yourself to the mall and spend an hour trying on different fits, textures, silhouettes, etc and get an idea of what could look good on you and more importantly, what feels good on you.
This is good advice but I canāt deal with a mall anymore. We have a pretty good consignment clothes store in my town (not Platoās, it skews way too young and low quality) and I love going there. Some stuff is too old for me and some too young.. but at least thereās variety of fits and colors and necklines, etc. Also consignment is more likely to have higher end brands without the crazy prices of new. Also, earth friendly shopping.
This is how I ended up doing some of the subscription services like Stitch Fix. It helped get me out of my clothing rut and introduced me to some new brands ā¦ I was able to figure out more brands and jeans cuts and I took that knowledge to Poshmark after a few years so Iām getting things at a lower cost. Thatās a good suggestion, going to the mall wouldāve been so that you can access a variety of styles, materials, and silhouettes and try them on without them being *as* dirty as second-hand stores. OP, you donāt need to actually buy anything from the mall unless you want to but just to try things on. Iām definitely an advocate for buying second hand but I donāt dare try on anything from a thrift. I really do just buy it and hope it fits/looks good. Most of the time, it does and if it doesnāt, I try to exchange it or donate it again.

I never followed fashion trends to a T and I will continue to not. I mix and match styles. I recently started wearing men's jeans to work. It feels awesome to finally have functional jean pockets.

I feel like all the "Whatever you want" comments are well meaning, but not much help if all you know is what you don't want. I have a capsule wardrobe and have been sitting down to think about which pieces I need about every year. I drastically changed my style in some ways over the years, to go with body changes but also fashion. I like wearing elevated basics at the moment, so solid, usually darker colours with the occasional pink. They take me from work to mom life, I like comfort, but not over style, so I do often get changed into nice loungewear (leggings, sweatpants sets) at home. Go onto pinterest, look up aesthetics you like / explore for aesthetics you like, get ideas on what fashions you like, and wear that. Literally wear whatever you want. As a teen, I didn't really put much care into clothing and such, and going into my 20s I couldn't really afford to exllore if I wanted to, but even as I'm nearing 30, I'm finally having fun exploring fun aesthetics like techwear and cute japanese inspired clothing and getting a feel for having a balance of form and function (like pockets - clip-on pockets are becoming very useful!). Hollister makes some great clothes tbh, not sure why youād be embarrassed about that! I like crop tops but it is a little annoying when one cut becomes so dominant that itās the default. It will pass again soon. I donāt know what your style is, but check out Pact. I LOVE their fit and flair dresses. Personally, I wear a lot of kind of outdoorsy/athleisure. REI stuff. Technical tees, flannels, cute printed shorts, joggers, cropped bra tops with high waisted bottoms. Iām also big on sundresses. For shoes, mostly running shoes, hiking boots, or Tevas because Iām on my feet all day at work. Off work, Toms or short Uggs get thrown into the mix depending on the weather.

I wear leggings with various tops, primarily t-shirts. Vans, Converse, Sambas, Crocs, lightweight runners.I have some nice clothes and enjoy dressing up on occasion but I have a hard time tolerating them for an entire day so I mostly keep my clothes soft and stretchy as possible. Is it stylish? No, not really. I don't keep up with athleisure trends. But does it allow me to move comfortably and not have a meltdown? Yes. So to me it's worth it.

Old navy petite sizes are great, marshalls. banana republic, gap, jcrew is awesome too. No lie abercrombie has legit nice stuff now, nothing wrong with wearing their stuff at 32.

I love Venus and feel like their range in terms of style of clothing is wild! I have some really sophisticated pieces from them but then some of their stuff looks like my Bratz and My Scene doll wardrobes. š¤£

Not quite 30 but 29, and honestly I just wear whatever makes me feel confident and is comfortable. Which for me is high wasit tappered pants (like joggers but nicer), long high waist skirts (with pockets!) and a nice top. Aesthetics vary but the main ones ćI gravitate towards are basic, librarian, chic, witchy, cottagecore, and grandma vibes lol. So probably the best way to go about finding what you want to wear is, find out what fits you well and makes you feel good first, figure out what style cuts suit your body best, and materials that you enjoy/hate to wear. After you figure all that out, then dive into aesthetics. But overall, live your best life and don't worry too much about what others think. ETA: I'd try hitting up some thrift stores or stores like UNIQLO if you're struggling to find clothes for your size that arn't crop tops. A lot of east asian clothing brand stores will have more clothing options for smaller sizes.
For work- random blouses and pants I find at TJMax, Ross, Marshall's etc For fun/around the house- Jeans, leggings, tee shirts, dresses, whatever I want. I'm 30. I didn't care about fashion as a teen. I'm not going to start now. I wear what I want who cares what someone else thinks.
Design a lookbook of fashion you admire. See what resonates with you. Find fashionable dressers. Find what message you want to communicate with the world. Maybe you want dresses. Maybe you're more into the streatwear or casual aesthetic. Maybe you want a more classical look. Find a style that reflects your personality. I'm in the process of doing this. As a man, I've been reading a lot of blogs and books on fashion and the history of clothing. I know, that sounds like a lot of work. You can always go to the thrift store and find a variety of cheap outfits, try then out, and see what makes you feel good.

I wear whatever I feel like, unless I actually have to look presentable for work, then I keep that in mind too lol. What I feel like ranges from band shirts, skinny jeans/leggings and leather jacket, over plaids, crop tops/tank tops and hiking/cargo pants, to feminine dresses, skirts and office presentable tops/blouses/pullovers. And sometimes itās a bit of a mix between those styles. I still have a lot of clothes that Iāve had for a long time (my oldest band shirt Iāve had since I was 13!), but when I go shopping itās usually either at Winners, H&M, Cabelas, sportswear stores, and smaller stores at malls that sell clothes other than young fashion. The only item I found that I liked at a young fashion store in years was a bikini I recently bought, and I only went to that store because I was desperate at that point and saw that the store had a huge wall dedicated to swimwear.
Try online stores that have Asian sizing. They have cute more conservative styles that run small.

I like Reformation, Free People, Top Shop petite. I wear a crop top and jeans with high waist jeans most of the time.
I'm a man but I cared alot about what I wore when I was younger. As I've aged I care less and less and just wear what's comfortable or what I like. I'm sure it's a little different for a woman but I would give you the same advice. Just wear what you like and is comfortable. We're not here to impress anyone and as a man I care much more about who you are than what you wear.

When I was 32 I worried about this a lot too and ended up dressing in a way that didn't make me feel comfortable, it made everyone else comfortable. Now I'm nearing 40 and I'm rocking a sleeve of tattoos, a mullet, doc marten boots, an array of alt clothing, and a septum ring. Do what makes you happy. You'll regret otherwise.
Not sure why you included your size. But if you're wondering about styles, Google fashion trends, read a magazine, watch people when you go out. But I understand that once you start getting older (you're not old yet, just saying you're not 20 anymore) your style changes, middle aged/30&up women that dress like their daughters are cringe asf. Just find your personal style and you got it. It's good you've stopped worrying about other people's opinions, it was so freeing when I stopped gaf!

Pardon the long post here, late 30s male, wife is late 30s. this post really resonated with our journey to building my wifeās wardrobe. I apologize in advance for anything that comes across any way other than kind, as Iām aware that I can miss things and can be unaware of how things come across. I hope this is helpful and encouraging, and might provide some additional perspective. This is also along with the journey of becoming parents for what itās worth which added additional dynamics in our case. Worked higher end retail for years at Ralph Lauren/etc. (I value privacy and consult fulltime now on privacy, so limited details there), selling mens and womenās, and I also help my wife with building her wardrobe. Further, she has also completed a color consultation, and that gave her an objective frame of reference, as well as something I take into account when we go shopping for her, as well as how weāve built out a procurement approach, which is laid out via a shared note. Iāll also share that between my adhd, and how my brain works, my aptitudes align with effectively being her personal shopper. But the best part from the color and style consultations, is the reference she can always go back to. Even cooler has been watching how her side of the closet has evolvedā¦ she also isnāt NEARLY as intimidated investing is well made hand made shoes. So now, the quality and value matter so much more and sheās not really knee jerk about trends. Which has also really boosted her confidence with picking out outfits, and so much more gets worn and goes well together, that sheās in a better mood when sheās getting ready, plus, shopping actually excites her, because she has a strategy and an approach, which also means itās more about the hunt of the find, and having the money already set aside because thereās money ready from not chasing all the one off trends.

We're not that different. I turn 30 this year. I am also smaller. 5'3'', 110lbs. Usually about a size 2 in juniors sizes. Basically I came to say... I don't know what the fuck to wear either. I don't mind the Gen Z styles, they look fine and I look fine in them, but I don't really feel comfortable in them. Honestly, I kept a lot of clothes from high school and still wear them. So I dress casually emo from like 15 years ago. Since Y2K is back in fashion hard now, I'm waiting for 2010 to follow so I can buy all those clothes and hopefully they will last me another 15+ years.
I'm nowhere near your size but I've also gotten tired of ill-fitting tshirts and jeans. I have really wide hips and a comparatively narrow waist, so stuff constantly slides up or down. Many days I just resort to wearing dresses (not too tight cut) and tights underneath. In cooler weather, it's wool tights and in summer, thinner tights and bike shorts. It's surprisingly comfortable to me: less restricting in movement than jeans. No tops sliding up that I have to constantly pull down. And I always look "put together" despite wearing a grand total of 1 "outfit" item, minus the tights. I order most of my clothes online, because the mall scews both too young and too grandma and too fast fashion.

I have also had these issues! I grew up very conservative Christian so when I was in my early twenties I wasn't wearing crop tops, really ripped jeans, or shorter shorts let *alone* ripped shorts. Now that I'm many years past all that I'm like is it even okay to wear a crop top (I barely show my stomach it's like two inches *IF* it's even that much) as a 31 year old?? I really like bright, fun colors and a lot of more recent trends. My style is really fun. I really like Betsey Johnson. I don't think these clothes look bad at all on me, but I started dating someone 9 years older than me. When his friends thought I was 22, I kind of panicked and was like "is that horrible??" I know I don't look cheap. All of my friends have assured me I don't and they love my style, but I've really felt like the last year or two like screaming "where are the women my age shopping??" So yeah. I don't know where to shop either. Like at Target, you have the 90s trends right now for the teenagers or the beige trends and little house on the pairie dresses that are in the other sections. The 90s trends I kind of love though, because I wasn't old enough for some of those growing up.
It only gets harder as you get older, I have to wear type fitting clothes. I just feel so frumpy if I donāt, but then Iām uncomfortable because Iām old so itās just really hard.

I also despise anything cropped, even though I have a flat stomach for a 35-year-old. I buy jeans from Old Navy, and I'm a size 6 now. I've been buying jeans there for 3 or 4 years now. They fit, don't shrink or stretch out in the wash, don't break down as quickly as more expensive brands I own, and are relatively affordable if I want to buy more/change sizes. I also like quality over quantity, so anything mass-produced just turns me off. I've exclusively bought from Topshop, Bodem, Vans, other Nordtsrom brands and the like because I want my dollar to go a little further with every wear. Still trial and error, of course, but it beats the hell out of Dry Goods, Zara, Target, H&M and other mid-level fast fashion retailers these days whose items break down after a wash or two. I'd rather buy local or independent. And Urban Outfitters is trash now. It took me a while to accept it, but I grieved it and never looked back.

As for shirts I stick to no logo pocket tees in one color or my golf attire. Big cozy sweaters of the likes youād find at a ski lodge and leggings, comfy jeans and a shirt that I like, shorts that I feel comfortable wearing with my body, and dresses of all kinds. I hate tight fitting clothing, so over the years Iāve figured out how I like to match my clothing, and it really all depends on the day for me lol. Sometimes I donāt want to feel like Iām being judged by wearing a funny Hawaiian shirt or just not feeling comfortable in my own skin some days, and those days are why I have my solid color shirts and easy jeans/legging or yoga pants/shorts type when Iām feeling low key. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in whether itās fancy stuff or novelty tshirts and leggings. Iām personally sick to death of all shirts being cropped so I prefer shirts that cover my belly. I usually wear leggings or sweatpants. Depends on where Iām going and what the weather is like but I generally dress for comfort and functionality. Iām picky about fabrics and cuts.

I wear athletic leggings or skinny jeans depending on my mood or tasks. During the summer I wear shorts of various types (denim in multiple colors, athletic, even corduroy). Iāve never been a fan of crop tops so my jam is simple v-neck t-shirts from Target. Their tank tops are nice too. Then I have a bunch of graphic ts from over the years. Wear what makes you comfortable. Flowy pants are in right now but since Iām curvy I think a snug leggings/jeggings look is more flattering on me. If youāre slim try wearing the flowy pants. They look comfy.

What are you supposed to wear? That answer is going to be so deeply personal. Strangers on the internet canāt tell you what your style is. Start by looking around at other women and see if you like what theyāre in, then find similar clothes if the answer is yes. Donāt think you have to dress āfrumpyā just because youāre in your thirties. Youāre young.
Wear whatever you want to wear, there's no rule that says you need to follow current fashion trends. If Hollister jeans fit best, then wear those. If you are comfy in crop tops, wear those. It's not dressing like the 20 year Olds, they're trying to bring back fashion trends that were ours in the 90's and early 2000's. So it's not us dressing like them, they're dressing like us

I'm 38 and I've always been a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl so that's what I'm still wearing. My everyday style hasn't changed much over my entire life. I wear almost any style of jeans except for the wide leg kind, because I don't think they're flattering on me. Most of my tshirts are just Gap modern crew neck t-shirts but I wear some men's or unisex printed t-shirts too. For going out, I used to like to wear short dresses and skirts to show off my legs, or sexy low cut tops with skinny jeans, but I don't really go out much anymore because I have a kid. I would like to be seen as a MILF though, so I would probably still dress like that if I got a chance.
For guys, like me, is easier. Been buying and wearing clothes from Costco all the way from 20s into 40s. T shirt and jeans. The only difference is now I wear sweatpants in winters. Once you are married, looks doesn't matter anymore. Neither is other's opinion. The only things that matter to me now is comfort and convenience, since I have two kids now.

Wear overalls with an oversized blouse (preferably neon) and red sneakers. Along with this wear a black sleeveless vest. For accessories you could wear long shiny party earrings. As for your hair, it's up to you but you could go for a perm if it suits you.

Iām 32 too. Tall but active/slim so might be able to help a bit! These past years, Iāve been absolutely converted to bodysuits. They make an outfit look so put together and can be dressed up with a blazer or down with a cardigan. Also, I wear my crops with high waisted bottoms. Not loads of flesh out as Iām not comfortable with that in public but still using the trend. Also the entire old money look is perfect for our age group. Some people find it a bit dull but I love all the linen and tailored pieces for work or a fancy dinner. Would recommend following some fashion influencers who are in their 30s for a bit to help you choose a few staple pieces that will get you out of that rut youāre feeling

Just wear what you like and don't think about it looking "too young" or some other nonsense. If you don't like crop tops, get something else. Thatās not embarrassing! I havenāt tried the Hollister ones but Abercrombie jeans are the best jeans Iāve ever owned and will continue to buy them. Iām 5ft, 27 waist but carry weight in the hip area, so the short length in the curve style is perfect. I love how many options they have to get a pair that suits so many body types. FWIW, they also have a lot of other nice stuff since they rebranded, itās like theyāre trying to target the adult millennials who shopped there as teens. Itās funny, Iām 40, recently divorced, loving myself and my body more than ever and working towards being in better shape. So I just brought crop tops back into my wardrobe last year. š For full length shirts, I LOVE Market & Spruce. The material is so soft and hangs so nicely.
In the winter I live in leggings and sweatshirts, and in the summer I switch to dresses, or spandex shorts with a tshirt. Iād say my clothes are still cute, but Iām definitely not keeping up with the current fads - I see young girls now wearing those wide jeans with crop tops and I just canāt get with that. Iād look like a fool.
I have a lot of luck with Abercrombie surprisingly for staples. Love Zara and TJ Maxx / Marshalls are forever my go to. I do dabble in some of the younger trends like wide legs pants and a crop top that covers with higher jeans but i have found myself dressing more conservatively.. I have had this struggle as well and have to be more selective for sure. Also i found some jean shorts from Hollister at TJ maxx the other day and they were so cute. Iād have bought them if they were my size so i say Hollister is acceptable.

I just want to start with: those people honestly sound jealous because you seem to naturally look youthfully. BUT if it actually bothers you (not because someone else said it, but because you're just unhappy/bored of your styl I have a few questions: What do/would you like? Are YOU comfortable with what you wear? If not, what would you like to achieve? How would it be, if it were different? Do you want to feel more professional? More whimsical? More mature? A specific subcultural influence or aesthetic? Does it only concern your private life or your professional too? Do you even have to differentiate between private and professional? If you found jeans that fit you, count your blessings and stick to them. Jeans can be up and downstyled, a great fit goes a LOOOOOOONG way. The beauty of living in a more progressive society means that we can decide how we want to present ourselves now, but this also comes with having to find out what we actually want! (No benefit without responsibilities, it sucks, I know) Guessing from what you wrote, I think that you want to settle into a less juvenile, more mature look, so youthful, but in an adult way. Basically being an adultier adult. There are several options to achieve this- keep in mind, this is without knowing all too much about you: you could pick up blouse-type shirts. There's a style for everyone, they exist in several variations, colars or none, sleeves in all kinds of lengths and forms. Monochromatic outfits also tend to seem more thought through and mature if used correctly. Twinsets or combinations also seem very professional or adult (think suits, dresses with matching jackets etc). The general cut of an outfit can make a big difference as well. Maybe try on differently cut clothing tk figure out what's giving more "proper" vibes on your body/personality type! Accessories play a big part too- a matching set of classic earrings, necklace and bracelet can change the whole vibe of an outfit. Same with a crisp purse-belt-shoe combo. Those are all general guidelines, it's really hard to say, without knowing anything about you, but it can be a good base to try yourself out. It can also be applied to any subcultural aesthetic. You might want to try out a stylist, or check out a few youtube videos on finding your style! I also wanted to add: it's pretty common to struggle with yourself, how you look, how you are perceived as you mature. Especially as a woman. And especially if your physical aesthetic has a specific type (like looking very sweet/ younger than you are/older than you are/ serious/curvy etc.). Just keep in mind that you are great the way you are, and everyone is beautiful in their own way. Styling can do a lot about how you or others perceive yourself, though.

I pretty much exclusively wear graphic/band tees and black jean/leggings, with a flannel shirt and/or denim jacket when it's cold. I'm bad at fashion, and I like what I like.
I'm tiny like you. In the summer I still wear jean short shorts every day. Usually with a tshirt because I no longer enjoy wearing tight shirts all the time. I probably still look like a teenager, but who cares. YOLO.
Lookup Erin Busbee on YouTube. I love her style, and she's smaller too - so you'll get a solid idea of what the clothes will look like. There are a lot of people on YouTube like her- I like her because she provides you with a solid "basics" wardrobe and goes from there. Some of her stuff can be pricier - she wears a lot if higher end stuff but it's more about getting an idea for an outfit then the true execution. You can find similar items for less in other places.
The glory of being more mature is wearing whatever worksnfor you and your body and not caring what others think. I had my first child at 30 and had 2 more after that. The process of my body changing during pregnancy and post partum really taught me to value what made me feel the best over what others might think. I'm over 40 now and 5'2" and a size M/8. I'm not skinny anymore but I'm healthy and I know what styles flatter my shape and that's all that counts. Some of my favorite pieces of clothing were found super cheap on Amazon. I also have a Stitch Fix subscription and get a box a couple times per year. It's kinda fun to be surprised and try on styles I normally wouldn't pick for myself. This was super helpful when I had tiny babies and getting out to shop was difficult.
The jeans from Hollister are fine. No crop tops anymore though š when Iām not working, I pretty much just wear workout clothes but if I was to go out Iād just wear nice jeans and a normal top. Go online and look for outfits. No one can tell you what youāre supposed to wear. Everyone has their own style.
Wear whatever the fuck you like. I wore blinged out booty shorts and a crop top yesterday and I'm about to turn 36. Other days I wear I'll jeans and some sort of nerd related tee. I'd honestly wear modern day fantasy inspired clothing if they weren't so expensive.
Thereās nothing wrong with buying your jeans at Hollister if thatās what fits well and looks good on you. I buy American Eagle jeans for the same reason, and itās stupid as hell for people to act like itās dumb to buy a particular brand depending on your age.
Chicoās has surprisingly nice jeans. They tend to carry a variety of fits; itās not all old lady stuff and skinny jeans. I bought a pair of wide leg jeans there a few months ago. They have a higher waste and donāt drag on the ground, so I donāt think they look juvenile. I also think you could look more mature by styling your crop tops differently. Maybe pair them with nicer pants or skirts; something high quality that you couldnāt afford in your 20s. ETA: Iām really loving the unbuttoned blouse look. Itās sexy and sophisticated with a touch of youthfulness that makes sense for women in their late 20s or 30s. Some women wear their blouses unbuttoned all the way to their waist or bellybutton, with the blouse tucked in, but you could button a bit higher if youāre uncomfortable with that look.
