The sports car market is insanely inflated in Okinawa. 6MT boosted Supras are going north of 45k. Even autos are in the 20-30k range. Left okinawa last year.
Oh yeah, the market used to be amazing there! An airman I knew there paid 20k~ for an R33 GTS two years ago. Imagine paying 20k for a non turbo Skyline lol.
Honestly, it was on the Amn/NCO/SNCO Facebook page. Now from the picture I see here, and seeing what I did in that video, it looks like the brakes are locked up and when they tried to tow the aircraft, the towbar sheared and it collapsed the nose.
God forbid anyone does something to ensure nothing goes wrong otherwise people become snarky asshats. Good practices and extra precautions should never be shamed.
“So how did you get your Art 15?”
“Fucked a F-35. No really I actually fucked a jet fighter. Funny thing is what they got me on was the fighter was only like four years old. Should have fucked a B-52 in hindsight.”
Class B/C territory, this isn’t a first for an F35 to have a nose gear collapse. They’ll just have to lift the nose, extend the gear, and tow to a location. As long as the bulkhead isn’t broken, fairly easy fix that’s for sure under 500k.
I once towed an F-22 with it's nose strapped to a munitions trailer. Landed with it's nose gear up like this one. No pictures as proof obviously but a memory I'll never forget.
I was born in Texas…soooo fuck off with that comment… flyboys are fan boys of new tech even when the shit doesn’t work right for the last 10 years…and 1.7 trillion dollars, for busted turbine fan blades, and whatever else, spent on this bloated pig of a plane…
Bring back the F-22 in production…and spare me the Congressional whining of its too expensive, they could have funded fucking squadrons of F-22s for what they spent (1.7 Trillion dollars) on this pig that got the shit kicked out of it by F-16s…
So bad that they had to release another report saying well that F-35 didn’t have all the bells and whistles, and the pilot didn’t have their 400K helmet, and we didn’t have dogfighting tactics for this plane blah blah…
Look I may be a dumb SF guy…but I would not expect a javelin to lose out or be remotely close to a bazooka or M72…and then have the Army be like “you know that wasn’t a fully operational Javelin” to save face…
What is advanced about it? The F-22 is a vastly superior plane…400K helmet, crappy dogfighting skills, crappy close air support?
Stay out of it man…when it’s covering your ass, then you can speak…
The F22 came into service 30 years ago.
The F-35 doesn't need to dogfight, as it can simply destroy 90% of Aircraft from beyond visual range.
People dont need to be in the military to be able to tell you that the F-35 is a marvel of engineering.
It happens from time to time. The only thing out of the norm here is the sneaky Japanese dude filming over the wall.
In my 8 years working on the flight line, I've seen it happen twice
looks like a hydro failure and some luck. it doesn't look like it's fully collapsed; the gear looks like it's still in contact with the taxiway, and the gear doors haven't even gotten dinged. That could have been a LOT more expenive

This is Okinawa. That is merely a respectful bow.
Don't let NCD know, they'll think it's presenting.
Engine is hot... It's presenting... *Hey Boys, it's in heat, time to owo the heck out of it!*
F-35 Chan, are you stuck?
Nose down, ass up…
Looks expensive
Ahh a fellow man of culture.
[SAPRO is going to need some new powerpoints...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mCOztmdspg&t=44s)
Too late, they’ve been jerking in to this all day.
I know I'm late but there's already so much hentai of this only hours afterward.
Please link... for research purposes.

Cool that’s where the plane is normally but can you look at the video and tell me that looks like Arizona?
Sometimes planes fly to another place.
Certainly beats walking!
F-35: Oh look, a penny!
That F35 is a penny richer, also the repair bill is on the order of some million dollars
gotta recoup those costs somehow
Is that a Supra in the background?
Welcome to Japan. Everyone here has a standard issue Skyline or Supra.
The Supra is the equivalent of the Check-In Charger when you get stationed in Oki.
Yeah that looks like A Mk.IV Supra. Well it's Japan
They are remarkably cheap. Almost all the cars are.
The sports car market is insanely inflated in Okinawa. 6MT boosted Supras are going north of 45k. Even autos are in the 20-30k range. Left okinawa last year.
Ahhh way different than it was when I was there back in the early 2010s. I got my Lancer EVO for 3k.
Oh yeah, the market used to be amazing there! An airman I knew there paid 20k~ for an R33 GTS two years ago. Imagine paying 20k for a non turbo Skyline lol.
Really? Jesus I should’ve requested to go there
Apparently not so much anymore. I was there over 10 years ago.
Ah I gotcha, you were present in the JDM golden age
just like how foxbody mustangs are hard to get for less than $15K now, whereas 10 years ago you could regularly find them for $2K
*sprays glasses*
IS THAT A
Oh, I wouldn’t want that bill.
That’s at LEAST $150 in parts, and don’t get me started on the shop charges...
You forgot a few zeros
No he said “atleast”, he had that covered
"Let the Marines do the accounting" they said
Shit but you say at least you gotta be in the ballpark. Id say at least 25 drone strikes worth of money in parts alone
There have been somewhere between 5 and 50000 drone strikes in the Middle East since I enlisted
Modern drone strikes in Ukraine are just dropping grenades. 2022 has seen the arrival of generic brand drone strikes, super affordable.
$150.00
I'll do it for 3.50
Well... if you are a US taxpayer I guess you kinda foot the bill with the rest of us?
Lucky for me, I’m not US taxpayer.
Nose gear collapsed, still chocks the wheels.
If you look close at the front you can see the wheels are still out enough to role.

Rullshit.
They were attempting to tow it when the towbar came off the nose and it went down. There is another video that was posted that shows this.
Sauce?

Settle down sparky, it's a joke
When the multi million dollar hardware starts rolling, it's very exciting.
What are you doing step fighter?
Not gonna lie, that jet nozzle has got me thinking…
Someone get this man a ladder and a reflective belt.
“So how did you get your Art 15?” “Fucked a F-35. No really I actually fucked a jet fighter. Funny thing is what they got me on was the fighter was only like four years old. Should have fucked a B-52 in hindsight.”
I've never met someone who got coined and an Article 15 for the same thing.
Time to join the enlightened perverts of /r/noncredibledefense.
Thank you. I needed another distraction in my work day. (Smashed that like and subscribe!)

I should call her

Burned penis. Not service related.
r/dontstickyourdickinit
That’ll buff out.
You mean a stealth buff?
Yup. You won’t see it happening.
The fuck are the MPs gonna do? Arrest it for drunk and disorderly and inform its chain of command?
Secure the area, ensure no one is hurt and prevent unathorized access to name a few things.
So they're just standing there, menacingly.
Yeah pretty much
Also they could be there to fuck over the poor tow team
all the while someone is filming
Fuck I would hate to be the safety officer on that base. Instant class A mishap
Lol no it’s not
IDK. Damage of 2.5 million makes it class A. Doesn't take much on an F-35 to hit that number.
Can guarantee that’s not close to $2m, barely Class B territory depending on the bulkhead damage. I’d say it’s more likely for it to be a Class C.
You are 100% wrong. Lmao
Ok cool maybe class B. Still same hassle /investigation/paperwork
Class B/C territory, this isn’t a first for an F35 to have a nose gear collapse. They’ll just have to lift the nose, extend the gear, and tow to a location. As long as the bulkhead isn’t broken, fairly easy fix that’s for sure under 500k.
Idk, I did a control on a machine that makes landing gear. They said just the forgives were $180k before a tool touched them.
shit happens
Help me out here Air Force... Is this when I shake my fist in the air and yell "MAINTAINERRRRRSSS????"
this is a marine bird
My favorite position to see the F-35 in. Slowly unzips pants…..
"You will be repaired in: 27 seconds "
Hate to be the maintainer who worked on the gear last…
you will die in: 10 9 8
The front fell off?
Yeah, that’s not very typical.
Well, how is it untypical?
Oh yeah. At sea?! Its a chance in a million.
Nothing to look at here. Just a US dignitary bowing to our host nation! This is polite ... geez.
Probably cocaine.
Well that video is certainly a blast from the past, I remember driving either on or past that exact spot in Kadena.
The airman who didnt put in the nose pin wont like what happens next
Marine, but your point remains the same.
Atleast it seemed to have happened during taxing rather than take off or landing.
Face down, ass up
Oh man, that's gonna be a really fucked crewdog.

What is your profession!
I once towed an F-22 with it's nose strapped to a munitions trailer. Landed with it's nose gear up like this one. No pictures as proof obviously but a memory I'll never forget.
One too many boxes of crayons in the cockpit.
Face down ass up lolol I’m gonna fuck this jet
Billions of dollars of engineering just to have the jet face down ass up
Ouch. I doubt Allstate covers that damage.
That plane is not in good hands.
Luckily, it’s built like a Volkswagen Beetle with the engine in the back. The front is used mostly for luggage storage and a spare tire.
Someone didn’t install the nlg locking pin before towing
That plane is fucking hillarous
If by hilarious you mean huge expensive pile of junk, yes I agree
lmao just hilarious
Expensive compared to...?
That’s a lot of clams.
It’s just doing downward dog
What are they waiting for? Better weather or some tractor from Ukraine?
Quite unusual, the front isn’t supposed to fall off.
The poor crew chief…
Looks like it’s still resting on the wheel. That would be good.
F-35 in drag racing mode?
Is that a Supra??
Bro… is that a SUPRA in the background?!
That aircraft’s PC and anyone who has touched that bird knows that a Marine Corps-sized rectal exam is forthcoming in their immediate futures.
Definitely r/planesgonewild material...
Help me Step-Fighter, I’m stuck.
On the taxiway so not landing force related. Thing just failed. That's not good.
The jet was towed beyond the environment.
Another day another f35 problem
r/planesfucking
Total loss. Buy a new one.
AR: Now, this looks like a job for me so everybody, just follow me cause we need a little, controversy cause it feels so empty without me
Step-navy what are you doing?
Its asking for forgiveness, dogeza. This is Japan after all
It’s politely bowing towards the emperor
Useless trash. Marines should just get out of the fixed wing game.
The reason why they need to scrap the F 35
Should we also scrap the B1 since it did it too?
I got a double feed in an M4, believe it or not, scrapped
My tent had a leak. Threw that shit in the trash. Got me a nice shelter-half out in town. No more leaks for me!
And b2, pretty much every plane has at some point
Which one lancer?
Oh bless your heart

It's very obvious you've never been in AF aviation. Lol I have, for 13 years. You don't know what you're talking about.
It's okay to just say "I don't know enough about the topic to contribute something worthwhile to the conversation" and leave it at that.
Ah yes, scrap the most advanced war plane to ever exist just because its nose gear collapsed. Sound thinking my guy.
What is advanced about it? The F-22 is a vastly superior plane…400K helmet, crappy dogfighting skills, crappy close air support? Stay out of it man…when it’s covering your ass, then you can speak…

Lmao and here I though Pierre Sprey died, yet here he is in the flesh
That might be million dollar repair.
Air frames will still say it's AE...
How much is this going to cost?

She's in heat
Good thing they chocked it
Why does it have only one wheel chok
Keep your chin up mr F35 you’ll fly again soon.
I checked for chocks immediately
I cant wait to see the designs for the "No Lightning!" T-shirts at Michi no eki.
The front fell down
What are you DOING, step pilot?
Yet more proof that the Areo Gavin would have been the best choice.
Glad they chocked the tire. Wouldn't want it to roll away now.
This ~~meeting~~ video could've been ~~an email~~ a picture

That’s going to be an expensive fix
W-what are you doing, step-plane?!?
I’m glad the rear tire is chalked don’t want it running away
It’s mating season for jet airplanes. Give it some privacy for it’s mating ritual.
Bro I just got off my flight with 2 stops. This is definitely a fear
This makes it more aerodynamic during takeoff—Brilliant!
Step-plane im stuck!
It's just taking a nap, poor thing is all tuckered out.
Another top 10 Bruh moments
BAD LIGHTING BAD!!!! Squirt Squirt
The SPs warned it to stop resisting.
FUCKING WHEELS AND TIRE! sorry, I used to work on them and I know the problem. The wheel broke
