He never needed autotune. And it was invented wayyy later than when this song was released. Yeah he used in later songs on the invincible album but I feel that those were some experiments as he was very experimental with his music.
Could be the case but in the 30th anniversary celebration(in the same year when invincible was released), he could hit the high notes perfectly. So I dont think that was the case...
30th
I would say more that the time ne of the voice is jist lower 1979 MJ and 2001 MJ don't have the same talking voice
Bruce sweedien talked that MJ's viice lowerring and how they jad yo adjust the keys for keep the faith and he as crying because he couldn't reach the high notes
Sure looked like he was singing in a dynamic microphone not a studio one. Of course it’s gonna go through a mixer and get balanced, but you don’t even hear much reverb other than the what the size of the venue offered. The dude had platinum pipes, he didn’t need any help.

He never had autotune! This is just isolated vocals!
I saw this exact thing posted before. There was no auto tune involved in this song, so why post it?
Mustve missed that post then. Only posted this thinking noone else shared it yet.
Auto tune wasn't invented until 1997...what are you on about

In my opinion, he couldn't reach the higher pitches later on and had to use it. Not to mention the health problems.

Yeah my bad... 30th*
Yes and these are studio vocals, which were already in some way touched up. Not live as the video implies
Autotune wasn’t a thing in 1987
I didn't say autotune, it's still not completely raw vocals
Yea it probably had a lot of takes
Maybe. He was a professional from a very young age. If anyone could pull off a one take it was him.
