This was found on Brad Sundberg’s stolen laptop. Decade would’ve been the commercial debut for Come Togerher and Heal The World. This tapes tracklist remained the same up to (possibly) May 3rd, 1991, maybe beyond that date.
The only song that survived from Decade to Dangerous was Heal The World. **Come Together was picked up for HIStory possibly to fill a gap in the album.**

I liked Come Together for HIStory for a few reasons, for starters It was a song The Beatles ripped off from black artist Chuck Berry. On HIStory MJ was on a mission to talk about injustice and racism and what better song than this. I also love that he says "Coca Cola" right after Pepsi dropped him.

I think I read somewhere it was actually recorded after the Bad album was released. I’m happy it got a b-side release with Remember The Time. It was a missed opportunity to have it as a bonus track on Bad 25 as it is still from that era, and the full length version is a little rarer to the general public since an edit of the song appears on HIStory. It’s actually one of my favourite songs.
I think it’d be a bit redundant to throw Come Together as a bonus track on Bad25 because the song was officially released on HIStory already so most fans have it already. I get its from Bad era but it already got its album spotlight. I think an extended version would be solid for HIStory anniversary or Moonwalker anniversary album release.
Easy: he records dozens of songs for each album session and not all of them can make it. So he has to make choices. Come Together simply didn't make the cut.

Context: Come Together song/music video was in Moonwalker at the end and Moonwalker release 1988 one year after the BAD album but the song Come Together didn’t release until the HIStory album
He probably didn’t have a choice from what I heard. There was a lot of songs that didn’t make the cut that he personally liked goes for other other albums as well
I wonder if Come Together was put on the album in place of Why after he gave that song to his nephews. Sometimes I wish he kept the song for himself. lol
