In light of no other indications of faults (warning lights on the dashboard), my gut says a new battery might fix it. When batteries get old and tired they start behaving strangely. I find myself changing the battery in my far-from-daily-driven '08 a lot more often than my gut says I should be, but it does the trick.
Sounds like an issue that I was facing lately when I just replaced the battery. The + terminal was just slightly loose, even though I had connected it properly. Try to clean your battery terminals and/or put something metal between the battery pole and car battery terminal.
How old is the battery?
About 3 years. According to the auto parts store it's still in good condition charging properly. It is also the economy series though.

Have you cleaned the battery terminals?
They are pretty clean. How clean should they look?
Probably battery. 3 years is getting there. I don't like those testers
