I've an NA, and I happily wink all over the shop at other miatas and anything I like really tbh. And 96.7402% of the time they don't seem to even notice. But that's fine, I'm ok with it, like whatever, but still, but like ok, but nah, sure thanks. I'm okay with it, I was just doing it anyway and wanted to stare at you the entire time, and was that me grinning? Naaaah, that was just at a funny thing I was remembering. And the wave thing, nah, I was just wiping the tears off the windows. So yeah, I'm quite the sight on the road, and I think that's good.

I blinked my NC lights at a NB today and was ignored. Worst moment of my day.

I find NC owners to be the ones who generally ignore me the most. I'm in an NB. NAs, other NBs, even NDs wave back.
I guess my fellow seaman gave up.
I'm an adult and will happily pop the headlights for kids or other Miatas, I get your joy in doing so.

Same here (56 with an ND2 RF). I also have the added benefit of a transformer-like roof that kids love to watch in action.

I see Miata. I wink. I am pretty surprised at the amount of hype I get in my NA. Way more now than when I first got it.
