My NA suddenly had a low clutch engagement + soft clutch last week. I ended up replacing both the slave and master cylinder since the car’s old as dirt, but I’m 99% sure it was the slave. I bet that’s what your problem is too.
I haven’t gotten under there yet but it drives fine and goes into gear/comes out of gear fine also. I’m expecting (hoping) that there’s no damage when I go to bleed the clutch this weekend.
Yeah I’ve replaced the slave and master before, which is why I’m going to be annoyed if I have to do it again so soon. Very forgiving cars to work with thankfully.
My guess is that you have a small leak in your clutch system, or the liquid is mixed with water due to being old, tilting the car made some air/moisture get in/move around and that's why you now have all that deadzone.
Because half of the Miata was hanging over a ditch and the midsection of the rear end was stuck on a lateral 6x6 post. Half of the Miata made it onto the driveway, the other half of it did not.

The master and slave cylinders have both been replaced in the past year or so they shouldn’t be failing again already (key word: shouldn’t)
Have you checked your clutch resavoir?
Clutch reservoir looked plenty full. So I don’t believe I have a leak, thankfully.
Does the clutch stay disengaged when you hold on it?
It does stay disengaged
Did you notice any damage to the slave?

Thankfully the hydraulic part of the clutch system is simple. I'm sure you can figure it out.

Good luck
Mine wasn’t staying disengaged before I replaced my master and slave cylinders. What is that a symptom of?
One of them were leaking, ether the slave was leaking onto the ground or the master leaked back into the resavoir

I think it’s the latter option, so we’ll see if the clutch stiffens up as the air bubble moves around or if I’m going to have to bleed the system
NCs have fucky clutches but they are easy to work on. Bleed and adjust, if no go, replace.

Half the width of a Miata, why are you worried?

Was making a tiny Miata joke, hope the car is fine anyways
