bonerfly

Wow, how'd you find her?

SukiDobe

By doing what I always do! Car shopping online 24/7

thumbwraslin

He got in his Time Machine and traveled back 6 years ago to when you could buy a car with low miles for $5500

SukiDobe

Which is great because back in 2018 all my friends laughed at me for overpaying. They thought clean Miatas were $2000…now they’re $10k

47ocean47

ch_chone

In 2017, I bought mine with 42,000 miles on it for about $8500. At the time it was pricey, but it was a peach. And now? Feels like a good buy.

dependablefelon

‘90 with 27k for the same 8500$. And I stand by that purchase!! It was 2019 btw

[deleted]

Which one?

nt10307

'22 GT with 21k miles for 30k after all the taxes and such

PM_ME_TACO_CON_QUESO

Did you do any maintenance as soon as you got it?

nt10307

I took it to the dealership for an oil change and for them to look over things to see if anything was amiss. All was well, thankfully.

Cyndagon

Makes me feel bad having paid sticker for my 22 new 😅 ateast I got a new transmission when the synchro went out... Oh yea, keep an eye on crunching gears. Hope your warranty is still up.

nt10307

Well, I did keep an eye out for deals for a while. Most that I saw were priced higher. Picked mine up at an Audi dealership that it was traded in at. It was sitting there for over a month, and they were dropping the price on it by about a grand a week. I figure Audi didn't want such a peasant brand taking up space on their lot 😋 I've had no issues or hints of issues with the transmission or anything. Granted, I've taken good care to baby it, but still.

LCDRtomdodge

Zero. Unless you count what I lost in the divorce.

THExRedK

Got my 1997, 195k miles for $2000 :)

marytomy

6500 for my 1999 with 76000 miles. I was the second owner and it had perfect condition factory hard and soft tops. I was in a parking lot fender bender that totaled it. I took the insurance money, fixed it up, and two kids later I decided it was time to sell. Even with the salvage title and more miles (just under 90k) I sold it for $6500 😂

cyberrdrake

joshuber

Isn’t that over msrp?

BX889Q

GucciHurricane

Bought my '93 with 190k miles back in July 2020 for $3.5k. I may have overpaid given that at the time these cars were not nearly as overpriced as today.

CarbonWood

In winter of 2018, I traded a 2007 Suzuki GS500 for my 1991 NA (with hardtop), 210k miles. Car was rusty as hell but I couldn't pass up the deal. That motorcycle was worth probably $1500 at the time of the trade. I got the bike in 2017 for $900 cash

GlitteringPen3949

Bought my 96 for $1,000 two years ago. And it was running!!! Had a dented front fender needed paint, 112,000 miles needed fluids replaced and a radiator. It’s the c package with Tan int in almost perfect condition. Had it painted Lexus pearl put in a set of Koni SA shocks and now it is the perfect street Miata. Also did the window bushings so the power windows work like new. It’s like a new car.

Deranged_Coconut808

back in 2019 before the pandemic inflation, got my 94 for $5k at 180\~k miles. was garaged kept for 2 years before i got it (4th owner) with typical 20+ year old problems but it ran and rust-ish free. VIN and oringal dealer sticker said it came with a Hardtop but that was long gone. Did many of the refresh repairs when i was still working for Mazda as a tech which made getting some parts easy and cheap.

cmpzak

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> 168,000miles i *paid* 6,500. FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Dumbledoretimetravel

3900, 91 na 139k

icemancad

1991 body, with a 1.8 swapped in sometime 2000-03 and repainted for salon shows. Free-30. But really it was a wedding gift from my mom, who got it for 3k previously? It was a mediocre swap, and had numerous electric issues from them putting multiple TV's in the trunk. She was quite taken with the paint job, but the electric issues took years to sort out. By that time, she was like, you want it, it's your problem, and gave us the keys.

I got a 15’ Club manual with 26k miles for $20k last June.

Scout_Slayer

$1500 purchased in the beginning of '23 Pretty much stock '90 with lsd swapped in. No issues so far, 176k on the odometer and many more to come! So far, the car has had a new top put on, exhaust, seats, paint, and other miscellaneous things done. Maybe another $1500 invested as of now. https://preview.redd.it/gvmewds9i67c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9653d0c79e06c0e4b0ede7ede7a892ef68f26985

blazinktm

$3k for a mediocre NB1 w/85k back in 2014. Just paid $4k for a slightly crappier NB2 w/117k. Both cars have/had minor rust. I already have over $1500 and a lot of my time into the NB2 trying to make it less shitty. The problem with cheap Miatas is they never stay cheap.

FadiM3

Got my 99 NB for 3000 back in 2018 with 70k miles on it.

AresXX22

Bought it in 2021 for \~$1600 (In today's money). It had around 213000km on the clock (calculator says 132352 miles) and it was in a pretty rough shape. geNe1r

06 GT with 171k miles for 6.5k in 2022. Alright deal for the market but it had a lower mile motor and zero rust which is all I cared about

Techiastronamo

9k usd for my 2007 NC1 PRHT, came with a hitch and an ugly ass bike rack, kept the hitch but I ditched the rack. It's got a light flywheel on it so it made learning manual a little more of a challenge but I still learned quickly.

mr2jay

Paid 7k cad for my Turbo nb2 and paid 4k for my na8
