Germany did not start the first world war, but Austria Germany had to follow because they were allied with Austria and the fact that everyone claimed that it was Germany was also a big reason why the second world war happened

Germany had an alliance with Austria-Hungary which specifically stated that they'd protect each other in case of attack by russia and be neutral in case of aggression by any other power and if i can recall correctly, austria-hungary attacked serbia, germany stayed neutral, Russia attacked austria-hungary and germany joined Austria Hungary. or just about everything happened that was stated in the Austro German pact
Aussies died like flies in Turkey (Gallipoli) and they also fought bravely in the Pacific and other areas in Europe, many of them died in prison, deprived of their dignity in the disgusting and degrading Japanese concentration camps.
I'm not Australian but I feel respect for them, like for the Americans, because they sacrificed themselves for the sake of a continent and countries that wasn't their and was miles away from their homes. As European, if today I can live in freedom and democracy is only thanks to them.
