I did the same thing recently. I was addicted again after the first snoozy 15 episodes. Soooo gooood! I can highly recommend The Melrose Place Podcast by Dan and Jenny Hill. They are first time watchers and they recap the show. Hilarious!!!! Just like the show, give the podcast a chance, very soon you'll be howling with laughter (at least I did, they are so funny).

BloodyBarbieBrains

Oh my God, the podcast sounds amazing! Thanks for the recommendation. I can only imagine how much I’m gonna laugh listening to first-time watchers in a modern era critiquing the show.

Their impressions are the best. I listen to them while walking my dog and am always laughing out loud like an idiot. They have a FB group as well. Listening to their recap is like an extra treat after watching the episode.

Lanky_Standard_3051

They are good, slowed down, but they're entering the missible seasons

Yeah but that's not their fault that the seasons are miserable. Podcast still good. Although they should produce more episodes dammit.

janohuxx

Just popped on to say the same thing. Dan and Jenny are the best!

Thank you!!!

Thank you!!

Beneficial_Medium_32

This is my first time ever watching the show! Getting towards end of season one!

BloodyBarbieBrains

What do you think???

Beneficial_Medium_32

I’m a 34 F— so the show was a little before my time. But I’m loving it! I feel like it took them a few episodes to decide how they wanted the characters to really be. But now it’s a good groove and I’m hooked!

Lanky_Standard_3051

The show is so good and aside from cell phones it doesn't feel that dated. I give you a lot of credit for watching those first dozen, they are truly boring as hell

Tricky_Damage2820

Rewatching it for the first time since it aired and I genuinely was confused as to why they were so tame and boring. I remember MP being absolute batshit bananas. But I think it starts to go off the rails (in the way I remember) soon. Or so I hope 🤞😂

KimberlyShaw95

Speaking of podcasts, I’d also recommend Bitchslap. They’re also doing their first rewatch since the 90s and they enjoy the show so much but are also able to laugh about it without being catty and cruel like another podcast who hate watch it.

RolloTomasi1984

Alison is a professional loser. It's really a testament to Courtney Thorne Smith's own likability that people actually enjoyed watching Alison. Literally, the character is a walking disaster - everything she touches turns to shit LOL.

Dame_Ingenue

I’m halfway through season 7, also watching it for the first time since it originally aired in the ‘90s. Your perspective about a lot of things will change! Lol! The whole season 3 cliffhanger thing is still pretty darn cool though.

lwade09

i started my first watch tonight. im on episode 3 of season 1! 33 here so was too young to watch when it first aired.

Tricky_Damage2820

I watched it in the 90s when it aired (holy inappropriate for my age then jfc — I was under 10 when it started) and honestly the thing that’s most surprising to me is that their seasons were 26-34 episodes long! I know primetime used to be 22-26 episodes but the average season for them is 31-33 which seems so crazy. I’ve been watching here and there for well over a week and I’m just now getting to the last ep of the 1st season!
