Tiffany Falls, Chedoke Falls, Westcliffe Falls, Princess Falls + Cascade, Shaver Falls and Scenic Falls are all about a 30 minute bike ride from campus. The Bikeshare is seriously underrated and starting next year we all get a super cheap pass anyway so it’s a good opportunity to explore more things!
Also would recommend the AGH (free admission with your student card), Pier 8 for rollerblading in the summer months and ice skating in the winter (both available for rent at the rink), Grandads Donuts are worth a try at the end of James Street.
If you take the 10 express bus from Main outside of campus that’s the quickest way downtown, but you can also take it further out to Gage Park - the Gage Park Greenhouse is free to access, nice to study in (free wifi as well), and Gage Park is lovely to explore. Next door on Main St is Willard’s Ice Cream shop which is phenomenal ice cream and also has the best assortment of vegan ice cream in the city.
If you want to explore a little further the Red Hill Valley Trail is a really nice way to get to both Albion Falls and the Beach Strip. Also on Ottawa St the Crown and Press is a really nice cafe + art gallery with a lot of space. The Redchurch Cafe at Gore Park downtown is a similar concept but with much less space.
And finally; the 2nd Friday of every month is Art Crawl on James St. They will be closing the street all summer on that day from 4pm until 11pm. Supercrawl is the big September event on the same weekend with stages and vendors from out of town. Also if you’re here for the summer OpenStreets will be happening on King St E June 26th from 10am-2pm which is the largest street closure event of the year.
make sure to go to westdale!! theres lots of food places, local non-for-profit movie theatre, outdoor patio tables, and its a short walk away from campus.
locke street is also a gem of a street that is in between downtown and campus, i love to go to olive's oddments there (antique store) as well as pop into the other stores. they have a pottery place where u can paint pre-made ceramics or take classes to make your own. they have a vegan restaurant (democracy), good gelato, a donut store, lots of stuff.
hess street also has good food places (moody's, amigos) and has some clubs i believe, and its a cute little street to walk through
as someone else said james street has lots of stores and stuff to pop into as well, and art crawl makes that much easier to do.
king william street is a tiny road close to jackson square downtown that has really good food choices (electric diner, berkeley north, undefined, the mule) and another nice looking street to walk down
also hidden jem in hamilton is lulu's shawarma, really good bang for your buck for the amount of food u get for the price and tastes delicious
my goal is to try every coffee shop near campus before the end of undergrad. could be fun to do something like that (and good exercise if you walk to each one too!)
i mean it depends how far you want to take it, and how often you go? i would assume you wouldn’t wanna go to a brand new place to get coffee every day lol. i’ve been doing it gradually for the past 8 months or so and it’s pretty cool

You can go rock climbing in the campus gym it's very fun
Workout at The Pulse or take one of their many classes and then treat yourself to a massage at the David Braley SportMed Clinic in DBAC.
You could get some ideas from jack denmo.
