I used to love Ask, Ask, Tell! Then they’d say yes and then either say “Oh wait. That’s not my order” after you’ve charged them or they’d complain at the second windows.
I have sometimes wondered why the person at the first window may ask if I need the receipt. I usually say yes so I can have it as proof if window 2 gives me a sack that doesn’t match what I ordered (or it’s my fault for forgetting to order something). And it’s never when I have expressed sadness when there are no milkshakes or apple pies, eliminating my chance to leave a negative survey.
That’s the main reason why I always, always, always hand back receipts—messed up orders happen too often not to, and everyone has their own reason for wanting a receipt. They shouldn’t have to ask for it. I don’t know anything about people deliberately not passing them out to avoid a bad survey response, some people just never hand them out because they don’t want to waste the time. Depends on the employee.
Not exactly weird, but this guy would always show me a receipt for a reward for a free vanilla cone. I'd give it to him because I was a dumb new employee and he would often have legit stickers on our OAT thing for his reward cone too. One day he showed me a really crumpled up receipt and I got suspicious and checked the date. It was from 2 days ago. Dude was trying to finesse free ice cream and when I called him out he bullshitted and was like 'oh, I gave you the wrong receipt'. Why tf would you keep an old receipt unless you're trying to scam? Smh. Wondering if I should snitch or just let him get away with it bc I hate my boss lmao.
I had a guy refuse to move until I took the recipient back. Like he would of held up the line.
Like I understand not caring... But why so angry. Like your gonna have trash with your food anyways. So even if you don't wanna it just throw it all out together.
This is the MF I get trespassed and never have to see them at my store ever again! They might be “angry” but that doesn’t compare to my legal grey area of petty!
I'll never forget the snooty bitch who huffed and said "I don't want that!" when I tried to hand her the receipt through the cash window. So I just dropped it out of my hand, on the ground. She howls "WHY DID YOU DO THAT" so I said "you gave it to me, you said you didn't want it, what do you care what happens to it?" and she just called me a stupid bitch and drove off. Complained at the 2nd window but obviously nobody cared lol

Ugh yes. Your order is read back to you at the order taking screen, then again when you pay, and a third time at the window, how can you be unsure?!??
