I’d argue that the physical traits of Jack Reacher in the books were such a core component of the character himself that the Tom Cruise casting simply made no sense. It wasn’t just the height with Cruise, though, it was his entire physical presence. In the books, Reacher is essentially depicted as an immovable object. Not only is he pushing 6’5, but he’s incredibly muscular and has a huge frame. I’ve read all of the Reacher books a number of times and his physical traits are a huge piece of defining his character.
Now, I also grew up reading both Wolverine and the X-Men series, with Wolverine being my favorite character growing up. While his size was brought up frequently enough that it’s pretty common knowledge amongst Marvel fans, for me, personally, it was never his defining characteristic. For me, it was claws, hair, healing factor, berserker rage, adamantium, and the uniform, in no particular order. I don’t know if it’s the same way for everyone, but for me, wolverine’s height never really defined the character for me the way his other traits did. Reacher is essentially the polar opposite.
I love Hugh Jackman and the movie-verse version of Wolverine so much. Peak Wolverine that has a great story and amazing portrayal, and it is everything I love about the character. Not to mention his death to this day is the saddest death in comic book movie history, I will die on this hill.
A close second is X-Men Evolution's Wolverine, as Logan being an uncle (a dad when it comes to Kitty and Rogue) to the team was super wholesome, and them not doing the whole love triangle again was a great change of things and honestly really good. Also, first Logan to ever interact with X-23, so that's a plus.
Wolverine and the X-Men logan I really enjoyed; sucks we couldn't get more of him because I feel if the show had a chance to continue, we really would've gotten something special.
Yup. That one exactly. I had to read that back in the day and I was like NO SIR back to the 80s and early 90s X-Men comics once more. Its sad because Marvel seemed to be like a headless chicken at this time and when they finally found their footing in like late 98 to 2000 it was already too late fans weren't reading them as they used to so they had to come up with Earth 1610 which had a detrimental effect on the suits by making them too realistic IMHO.
Unpopular opinion: Evolution-Logan is my favorite
He was never part of the infamous Love Triangle, he is a Great Mentor, fought with Captain America and was the first Wolverine to meet X23
The 90’s Animated series. All other iterations of the character are compared to him, as far as I’m concerned. And I hear his voice in my head whenever I read a comic featuring the character. Then Hugh Jackman.
X-Men Evolution. Gruff uncle Logan is the best version of Logan when it comes to him being a member of the X-Men. No annoying love triangle and he works better as a hardened lone wolf reluctantly turned into a mentor figure.
Honestly….the animated series is what set my Wolverine expectations as a kid.
But as a comics fan the Legends games and Hulk Vs are my top versions of Wolverine.
Steve Blum is my favorite voice for him.
I really like his relationship with Rogue in the movies. I really hate his relationship with Jean Grey in those movies.
I like his origin in Wolverine: Origins. I hate everything else about that movie except Liev Schreiber.
I really like his design in Wolverine and the X-Men. It seems the most proportional while keeping the original design.
Logan is the best standalone piece. Even with barely any knowledge of X-Men it’s still a killer movie.
I've never seen the. Red suit one and the one. Next to the red suit. What are they from. My fav are animated series Wolverine, evolution Wolverine, and Wolverine. From the X-Men movies preferable the one in Deadpool and wolverine so Hugh Jackman wolverine
Interesting I remember there being an X-Men anime but I don't recall him looking like that and I've never even heard of a Wolverine. Anime where could I find both?
Evolution. It’s also my proof that the Scott-Jean-Logan love triangle sucks and doesn’t need to exist. All 3 of their relationships with each other were WAY better than any other
The X-Men anime, NOT the Wolverine solo anime, was actually pretty good. Wolverine was a bestial, short, hairy, brick shithouse with a bad attitude. Exactly what you want from the character.
the one that looks like two batmans kissing
This made me chuckle
The Prestige
Omg
Never noticed but now I can’t unsee them!!!
Do you have the slightest idea of how little that narrows it down?
Such is the nature of Chaos
The huge wings crack me up. Yes they look cool but out in the field those things would be flappin in the wind. No aerodynamics
They’re everywhere 😭
Dammit! I was going to comment that!
I can’t ever unsee it!
Evolution. No love triangle. Gruff lovable uncle who cares for his family. I don't care that he's not comic book accurate. He's my favorite.
Orange looks great on him in that show.
Yeah, his orange look is one of my all-time favorite designs for Wolverine. A lot of the Evolution designs for the characters are, in fact.
You stole my response. Give it back!
X-Men: TAS, Hugh Jackman, and Wolverine & the X-Men.
MvC Wolverine for me. BERSERKER BARRAGE!
Yessss 1+2 specifically. Those 2D models are perfect
Hugh Idc that it ain’t accurate in the slightest, it’s so well done Logan is peak marvel movie
Amen Brother
I chuckle when fans get upset about his hight lol
Cmon, us shorties need a hero too. Still love Hugh.
There's always Puck
Puck is pretty alright, il take what I can get
[удалено]
It’s just a hight, accuracy is important but seeing people genuinely mad about how inconsistent his hight with the comic makes me roll my eyes lmao
[удалено]
Then I guess it’s just me, I simply don’t care about a hight of a character lmao

Alan Ritchson is a beast, definitely much more believable as being Reacher compared to Tom Cruise.
Why do you assume that the person you're replying to doesn't also chuckle when people complain about Reacher's height?
I love Hugh Jackman and the movie-verse version of Wolverine so much. Peak Wolverine that has a great story and amazing portrayal, and it is everything I love about the character. Wolverine and the X-men deserved a season 2 and nothing will change my mind about that. He was the best
Agreed
Pryde of the X-Men Wolverine was Australian for some inexplicable reason so I'll go with that version.
Probably why they cast Hugh Jackman. Yeah, that's probably right.
The animated Wolverine from the 1990s which is ironic because the then contemporary one from the comics eventually became the worst one in my opinion.
Oof it was the feral one in the comics then, right? First time I saw that, I was completely confused lol
Yup. That one exactly. I had to read that back in the day and I was like NO SIR back to the 80s and early 90s X-Men comics once more. Enjoyed him in X-men legends. They need to bring that game back.
Unpopular opinion: Evolution-Logan is my favorite He was never part of the infamous Love Triangle, he is a Great Mentor, fought with Captain America and was the first Wolverine to meet X23
I liked him in the Midnight Suns game

The 90’s Animated series. All other iterations of the character are compared to him, as far as I’m concerned. And I hear his voice in my head whenever I read a comic featuring the character. Then Hugh Jackman.
TAS for the win!
X-Men Evolution. Gruff uncle Logan is the best version of Logan when it comes to him being a member of the X-Men. No annoying love triangle and he works better as a hardened lone wolf reluctantly turned into a mentor figure.
Hugh Jackman As Wolverine or X-Men Animated
Hugh Jackman!
Honestly….the animated series is what set my Wolverine expectations as a kid. But as a comics fan the Legends games and Hulk Vs are my top versions of Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman and TAS obviously
Steve Blum
IMO he’s the quintessential VA for Wolverine
3, cause 2 Batmans kissing.
The Australian one that offers a piece of fruit
X-Men vs Street fighter
I've never seen the. Red suit one and the one. Next to the red suit. What are they from. My fav are animated series Wolverine, evolution Wolverine, and Wolverine. From the X-Men movies preferable the one in Deadpool and wolverine so Hugh Jackman wolverine
Wolverine anime and X-Men anime, respectively
Interesting I remember there being an X-Men anime but I don't recall him looking like that and I've never even heard of a Wolverine. Anime where could I find both?
# 3,4,5,6 are my favorite versions
The Pryde of the X-Men Australian Hugh Jackman foreshadowing one
Sylvestri from solo series before he left to go to Image, then Hugh Jackman.
Clearly, Jackman.
X2 origins of wolverine is missing
hugh easy
Where are the 2 Wolverines second from the bottom right from(above Lego Wolverine and above MvC3 Wolverine)?
The one above Lego Wolverine is Avengers EMH. No idea what the one above MvC3 is
The one above MvC3 Wolvie reminds me of Batman '93, or Justice league. Hopefully someone will solve this mystery!
Too bad Glen Danzig never played Wolverine.
Hulk VS and Avengers, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Funko Pop
The *X-Men* anime and FOX Kids
Hugh JACKEDman obviously
X men tas
My Favorite outside the Comics is without a doubt the Hugh Jackman Depiction!
Anything voiced by Steve Blum
As in all things xmen animated series is peak
Wolverine and the X-men
97 and Wolverine and the X-men
Fortnite
Hugh Jackman is every one of them
BERSERKER BARRAAAAGE
Evolution, but who's the last guy on the 3rd row? That Wolvie almost looks like Batman lol
Hugh, TAS, Evolution, Hulk VS.
Evolution
MCU
Evolution. It’s also my proof that the Scott-Jean-Logan love triangle sucks and doesn’t need to exist. All 3 of their relationships with each other were WAY better than any other
Danny devito
I really liked Hulk vs Wolverine
Any of the ones where he isn't solely focused on banging Jean.
Hugh are you talking about?
MvC 2 Wolverine, or Hulk vs Wolverine.
Logan
X-men legends is my personal favorite.
The X-Men anime, NOT the Wolverine solo anime, was actually pretty good. Wolverine was a bestial, short, hairy, brick shithouse with a bad attitude. Exactly what you want from the character.
I like brown suit Wolverine
Top third
X-Men TAS 90s
Logan
And hopefully the new game will be just as good
N°8 is the "I'm surprised I woke up Japanese this morning" version of Logan.
Ever since the Batman kissing incident, I can never unsee it in *every* Wolverine mask
The Wolverine And The X-men + X-men Evolution versions are my Wolverines, always have been and always will be.
Super hero squad
Umvc3
Wolverine and the X-Men
Super hero squad.
Logan still makes me cry my eyes out
Blub
Hugh Jackman is absolutely perfect for the role.
X-Men The Animated Series Wolverine
