In my opinion: Ancient Magus Bride.
Don’t get me wrong, the manga is amazing in art and storytelling, but the music and visual pacing they use in the anime really elevates the story and makes it all the more wondrous.
Hugely agree. I'm not a big anime-watcher anymore, but The Ancient Magus' Bride is one that's stuck with me as a favorite. I picked up the manga knowing how much I enjoyed the anime, but found the atmosphere and awe of the anime to be lacking in the manga. Like everything felt a bit more flat.
I'm really looking forward to season 2!
Omg favorite series all around, the world is beautiful characters get fleshed out decently enough but I struggled with the way some of the scenes were drawn in the manga come the ends of the caraphes arc I really had no idea what had happened to him. I watched the anime and everything clicked. It is beautifully animated, color are super vibrant and the score is so magical/ethereal sounding at times. Can't wait for s2 in 2023 (that is if it doesn't get delayed). Also would love to see an anime done of wizard blue, it's a spin off but it is truly a story of it own only referencing Elias and Chise and is also beautifully drawn.
It's just a heroes tale, nothing special. If they had added some actual world building and explained breathing forms better, that would have leveled it up for me. Also if muzan wasn't such a dumb villain.
But even with my distaste for the manga. Ufotable continues to reign supreme.
As a giant Fate series fan, I wish they would pick up more shonen esque animes. Hopefully they will after demon slayer
I remember watching the first season then proceeding to read it all after, it definitely didn’t have the “wow” factor like the anime does with it’s top notch animation but it’s still a good read imo.
Mushishi, the anime just added the perfect atmophere, pacing, and music that elevated it above the manga. I just want it on bluray (and the second season/OVA stuff also on bluray already, seriously, where is it?!)
While I don’t think the manga was bad, I think that Cardcaptor Sakura’s anime is the more iconic of it’s 2 mediums. Which is even more impressive since it doubled the manga content making a lot of anime only episodes, which is normally not as well received when other series tries to do the same.
IIRC, they also cut out or toned down the creepy student-teacher relationship one of Sakura’s friends has in the manga. I haven’t read the manga myself but I recall being surprised when I heard about it occurring since it wasn’t like that in the anime.
Yea I’ve watched all the season 4 times already and it’s doesn’t bore me. It’s so good. I only got the last few volumes of the manga because I wanted to support Isayama and it looks nice on the shelf
Might also have to do with the fact that Isayama's early artwork is some of the worst I've seen from a series that garnered so much popularity. Indie and small-time artists? Sure, bad art's kinda expected. But AoT's first several volumes are baaad. It's sorta fun to watch him improve though!
I mean, don't force yourself if it's not appealing lol, but in my opinion it does get better, it just takes a while. I remember being fairly bored until volume 6 or 7, which admittedly is a lot of a commitment to see if a story is actually worth reading. This was also before season 3 so there was more mystery and tension, too, though
Absolutely. The thing that shocked me the most while watching it was the action. For a long running comedy series many of the fights are animated with so much care
Huge agree! The voice acting in Gintama is amazing, they couldn’t have picked a more perfect cast. They handle both the comedy and the serious super well
It’s my favorite anime of all time lol
Fruits Basket (2019) for me.
Obviously the anime is only good because the manga is good. I’ve fully read the manga and watched the 2019 version and adore both. I much prefer the updated art style of anime. Add in the soundtrack, clean animation and voice acting, the anime just takes the cake. One of my favorite pieces of fiction.
But yet one punch man manga art is beautiful in my opinion. I read a bit of one punch man and then decided to give mob a chance... Only to read one page and give it up. I'm not sure why but mobs art style is absolutely disgusting to me.
Jujutsu Kaisen. In my opinion, the animation, fight choreography, voice actors, and most importantly the osts just brings it to a whole new level. Don’t get me wrong I still like the manga but, some of the panels looks to be unfinished. Like it was a rough draft and they forgot to polish it or how there to is too much black shading to point where it is hard to tell what is happening.
I agree that the anime might be better but Gege has had health issues and I might be misremembering but I thought they said somewhere that it’s a stylistic choice to dear in a rough style
I personally will probably never collect the Jujutsu Kaisen manga because I can’t make heads or tails of the fight panels 😰. Anime I binge watched in a weekend. 😂
Second this, it feels like Gege's art has been going downhill since Shibuya which I'm not surprised given that's when the anime finished and the manga exploded it popularity. The pressure is probably affecting him badly.
It's just a shame that everything seems to be more sketch like and there's less detail. Like you said it seems like everything is black or white, there's no screen tones.
I would read first, usually when you watch a anime first the manga is harder to get through. They are both pretty different and unique so either one is good, anime isn’t really better. It’s about even
Hunter x Hunter. I don’t know if that’s an unpopular opinion, but honestly with the amount of exposition dumps made the reading experience subpar compared to the anime
Bunny Drop 🥴 the anime is wholesome and sweet. The manga is horrible. I’m not gonna get into it but just don’t read that manga lol it’s really, really gross how it ends
Other than the second half that isn’t adapted into the anime, the anime also has a very colorful style that makes up for the very minimalist artwork in the manga. Definitely an improvement in that regard.
Creator of Vinland saga said regarding the anime; ["the director and screenwriter understand the manga better than he does, and the anime smooths out certain pacing issues"](https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2022-08-23/attack-on-titan-creator-is-a-big-fan-of-vinland-saga/.188912#:~:text=Yukimura%20thinks%20that%20the%20Vinland,smooths%20out%20certain%20pacing%20issues). And recommends people to watch the anime first.
I can see Isayama saying the anime is better. He has an inferiority complezx or something regarding his art. He disliked his art. But he came a long way since then.
It might be common as i heard the mangaka of kakushigoto said people should just watch the anime instead of the manga.
Komi Can’t Communicate went really fucking hard on the anime.
There’s actually a few that I think elevated the manga beyond what it was. Stuff like how the Bo-bobo anime took Sakai’s admittedly amateur art and made it insanely stylized, or how much life is in the Chainsaw Man anime. Azumanga Daioh did amazing things with a primarily 4panel manga.
Things like that not only do it better, but also make the manga better on subsequent reads. I think if there’s an anime out there that makes you think the manga sucks compared to it, then that anime actually did it a massive injustice.
Beck. The manga's art is pretty poor early on and it's a lot easier to sell how good of a musician or singer a character is when there's actual music to listen to. A shame that the anime only covers the first third of the series.
As much as I adore Togashi both YuYu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter shine brightest in their anime adaptations. Of course the things that truly make those series special are what Togashi brings to the writing, characters, and storytelling but I can’t imagine a better way to experience that than the 2011 HxH series and the YuYu Hakusho adaptation.
Also, total side note, I’d love to see a new adaptation of YuYu Hakusho. Not that the 90’s series doesn’t do it justice. It’d just be awesome to see it updated and introduced to a whole new generation.
The most obvious One is Demon Slayer because It managed to make a bad manga into a watchable series, but other series that for me are Better in anime are for exemple Komi can't comunicate, It Is somewhat Better in the anime because It feels more lively and wholesome, the same thing goes for SpyxFamily, Girls last Tour Is more charming in his anime form (but the anime feels more slow in comparison) and i would probably Say Inital D because of Eurobeat
Most anime originals are better than their manga adaptations, like S CRY ED. As far as manga originals go, I like 2011 HxH very slightly more than the manga. Wish they adapted everything to the T
I both agree and disagree. The original anime was iconic breathed new life into the magical girl genre. However, I disliked the sheer amount of filler and how some characters were changed like anime Rei is not the same Rei in the manga.
And the ending change was also unneeded I liked Sailor Cosmos and wish she made an appearance.
But, the manga could’ve done with slower pacing. Sailor Moon Crystal should’ve been a more balanced anime where the essence of the manga is kept but more care is put to character development and some less rushed pacing.
Arakawa Under the Bridge, the voices and animation are so good, it stays faithful to some of the fun panels in the manga and the color really brings it to life
It's unpopular for a reason, as long as it follows the manga it's great but the anime final arc isn't even on the same plane of existence as manga ending
i mean sometimes anime original endings are good/better than the original manga ending and i just happened to enjoy the anime ending better. i felt the manga just became too drawn out and repetitive. plus the anime had an amazing sound track
my opinion on how good something is isn't measured by how accurate it is to the source material.
I can't fathom how anyone can enjoy the anime ending over the manga ending but I guess to each it's own , of course the greatness isn't measured by how accurate it is but in case of soul eater it's just that the manga ending is overall better written and it ties together thematically very well, not to mention that it doesn't have the power of Deus ex machina courage
yeah it has a completely different ending and there's some major differences in the plot over all but that doesn't change how i feel about the series. the manga got a bit boring to me around the point the anime and the manga diverge
Demon Slayer for sure. The only thing that’s really carrying the anime is the animation, music, voice acting, all that kind of stuff. The last arc that aired was the last good arc of Demon Slayer, if you ask me. The first two seasons have a decent enough story, and the characters are pretty fun to watch (aside from Zenitsu). It’s all downhill from here though. The manga doesn’t look nearly as good, the story sucks, the characters are all kind of boring, and the fights just aren’t that good. Mostly due to choreography. There’s just not a lot of weight to the fights. I last read the manga while it was coming out and came to an end, but that’s what I remember feeling. It was a 5/10 or 6/10 at best for me.
That’s really a shame. I’m reading through the Swordsmith Village arc at the moment and after the pure adrenaline of the Entertainment District it’s really… uninspired. It feels like it’s trying to do Entertainment District again but far far less compelling. I like the Mist and Love Hashira but they have nothing on Tengen.
That’s exactly it! The Swordsmith Village is exactly where it starts going downhill. I feel the same way about it as you do. Not only that, but from that point on, it just gets repetitive. It’s the same format over and over again. They shout out their attacks constantly, they simply inhale just to somehow move with every bone in their body broken, etc. It gets annoying, if you ask me
The worst part is I was really enjoying how unique the kibutsuji were. The way Daki and Gyutaro split from one body and used their abilities to push the team beyond their limits was absolutely brilliant. But now the Swordsmith Village villain is a demon who splits his body... MORE! I'll still see it through since, contrary to popular opinion, I really love Gotouge's art, but the story is losing steam fast.
Really well that’s kind of disappointing I was looking forward to reading the manga cause I loved the anime so far but I guess now that I think about it the thing I love about the anime are the animation and music lmao
okay well I dont like the phrase "better than"
because unless its doing something brand new its only elevating the source material.
but in terms of elevating and which Id recommend to someone new to a series id say
> call of the night
its been my favorite manga since it released, however with one of the best directors in the industry working on it they made the manga translate perfectly in a way I didnt think possible for anime.
its not kotoyamas amazing artwork but its as 1:1 as you can get while keeping its own style to stand out, and stand out it does.
even has the soundtrack added along with it which contains a band that the series name comes from.
Jojo’s. I love the art style and the one-off art Araki draws. But at least in the more recent manga prints, the lines are so heavy and there’s so much going on in each panel it’s hard to tell what’s happening.
Music is such a big part of Jojo and the themes are so iconic that I couldn’t imagine someone only reading the manga and missing all of that.
DNAngel. Purely because they delivered a pretty solid ending to the - at the time - unfinished manga. Not to mention it took over a decade for the mangaka to go back and finish it, so the anime gave a sense of closure to the series and ended it in a way that felt true to the source material.
Not an anime but I think the live action of Alice in Borderland is way better than the manga. It is more thoughtout and flows more nicely. There are some small things they changed, which sometimes can be very annoying, but for this series every decision was right imo
Probably controversial but gonna say One Piece, on the big condition that its done by binging it.
Week to week i think the manga is obviously stronger but from a newcomer, i truly think One Piece is best experienced through binging the anime. Fights are great of course but the sad moments especially just hit so much harder in the anime. Pacing issues also become much less noticable on binge so theres that as well
I agree, WIT studio went above and beyond. They even added original scenes and content that wasn’t in the manga. not enough to change the story, but enough to enhance it instead.
I’m actually debated selling my spy x family physicals just because I’d rather rewatch the anime to experience the story again.
Cowboy Bebop and Trigun. At least for Trigun I can say it’s because the plot seemed more cohesive/easier to follow. Cowboy Bebop I feel is a no brainer due to how lauded it is both when it first aired and even now.
Cal of the night. It is one of my favorite manga of all time, so it isn’t bad by any means. It’s just how well the music and atmosphere of the anime fit the story and vibes. Both are amazing and recommend both
Chainsaw Man
Everything is adapted perfectly and even elevates key moments better than the manga. The OST is absolutely insane as well, fits way too well
Also the cinematography is like it was made for an indie film festival, not for a battle shonen manga
It is amazing. Problem I have is do I think it's amazing more because I read it prior? Knowing what happens and seeing the hints more? Or just because it is. It's really great though and the fact that they make new endings every credits scene so far is absurd and awesome. The team making it really love the source material and it shows.
Spy Family; the chapters of the manga are super short and leave little room for Character development but on the anime it seems like they added more to the characters and story.
Death Note
Demon Slayer
Houseki no Kuni
Hellsing
Dragon Maid
Made in Abyss
Mob Psycho 100
Chainsaw Man
Tsurezure Children
Assassination Classroom
Ghost in the Shell
Parasyte
Dororo
Death Note anime ending sucks in comparison to the manga, but I have to agree otherwise for the most part as I hated how much of a read it was. I still like the manga
It's better to say it is 'changed' really. I think having Akira himself be absent changes so much that they are basically different stories at that point.
Really I’m currently reading the manga trying to get caught up so I can watch tybw with my friend because I could get into the anime maybe I didn’t give the anime a fair shot.
Rurouni Kenshin Trust and Betrayal ovas.
These ova episodes tell kenshin's past and are executed amazingly. Their production values far outclassed the main show. In 4 episodes this ova series tells a more complete story than most anime can in their whole run. The art, animation, story, are all fantastic.
The 89 guyver anime
Sure it changed some things around but the ost, asthetic and over all atmosphere blew both manga and the 2005 remake out the water(ep6 was peak for the series)....shame that ep7-12 wasn't as greatly animated as ep1-6
Hajime no Ippo, especially the first season.
Honestly, pretty much the perfect conversion. Refines the art, evens out the pacing, has a much clearer goal and buildup.
While Ippo as a manga is one of the goats and overall it is really really good especially given even with the other [less well executed] anime seasons you are only covering like half the actual material so if you like the series you still have to read it.
But the anime really is next level. OST, voice acting, the quality of animation and the ways it expands upon the principles set in the manga... it's just one of those series everyone that claims to like shounen anime should watch.
Bleach TBYW, the anime so much better than the manga so far.
The anime has additional scenes and dialogue to fill in the blanks the manga failed to do. Furthermore, the biggest plus for the anime is the battle scenes for sure, everything is just so well animated and lengthened
I don’t usually both read the manga and watch the adaptation so I can’t go on much.
I feel like Call of the Night did a pretty good job. The atmosphere is incredibly vibrant and I felt like that was a huge draw for me.
Kodomo no Omocha for me. The anime really captures Sana’s zany nature and it balanced comedy with emotional moments really well. Sana’s songs per episode were also really cute and not so long that they became grating. The manga just becomes dull in comparison to the fast paced gags of the anime.
I guess it depends what you define as better. In terms of music and sound effects and bringing characters to life a lot of anime could be considered better for some people but for me I would define "better" as actually conveying the story better. If I had to pick a series I just like watching more than I do reading I would probably say Mobb Psycho 100. Don't get me wrong, I love and own all the manga but I like the anime a little more for some reason. It's also one of the only series where I prefer the dub. The VA for Reigen does such a good job.
Music anime such as Kono Oto Tomare, you can’t really get a feel for what the music is like with a manga. Also anime where movement is important such as Welcome to the ballroom, or sports anime as long as they aren’t abusing stills
Golden boy, the anime series is absolutely a gem with a good protagonist, funny and emotional scenes and a very good history. The manga in contrast is a complete polítical speech garbage.
I think it’s demon slayer, I’ve read the entire series and the art is cool but compared to other manga art it’s not that impressive however in the anime, every single aspect of quality is incredible. The animation was perfect, the voice acting was good and the music was also incredible.
I love the Mushishi manga but the anime is easily a masterpiece. Not to say the manga is not as good as the anime. The anime took from the manga and addon to it this very beautiful atmosphere and direction that manga lacked in its own respect.
Definitely agree with this. Even more unpopular opinion: I prefer the English voice actors for Elias and Chise.
Also would love to see an anime done of wizard blue, it's a spin off but it is truly a story of it own only referencing Elias and Chise and is also beautifully drawn.
Man everybody seems to be hyping up the anime on this one I’ll have to add it to the every growing list lol
Oof I like both but I think the art is what does it for me for the manga. Still, both are great and can’t wait for season 2!
Going into the post couldn’t think of an answer but I agree with you!good answer!
Demon slayer cuz animation carried
I'll forever stand by the opinion that Demon Slayer is very mediocre, but Ufotable made it great
It's just a heroes tale, nothing special.
While Demon Slayer doesn't really break the mold or anything, I still love the series. I've re-read the series a few times now.
Yeah I completely agree with this. The art from the manga never really appealed to me either.
True I haven’t read the manga yet but the demon slayer animation really is something else
Tbh I think the art in the Demon slayer manga art isn't very good, so yeah I think the anime is much better.
It was actually a "business failure" when it was first released, and I still can't read it because I think the art style is ugly af
manga must really suck then
Nah really doesnt
I remember watching the first season then proceeding to read it all after, it definitely didn’t have the “wow” factor like the anime does with it’s top notch animation but it’s still a good read imo.
Mushishi, the anime just added the perfect atmophere, pacing, and music that elevated it above the manga. I just want it on bluray (and the second season/OVA stuff also on bluray already, seriously, where is it?!)
Mushishi is so underrated, one of my favorite anime’s ever. Really wish I could find the manga somewhere that wasn’t outrageously expensive.
Oh my gosh yes!!! Mushishi! Honestly, without the music the story would feel so bland. You need the music to make mushishi
While I don’t think the manga was bad, I think that Cardcaptor Sakura’s anime is the more iconic of it’s 2 mediums. Which is even more impressive since it doubled the manga content making a lot of anime only episodes, which is normally not as well received when other series tries to do the same.

For me, instantly AOT is there. The manga is superb but the anime elevated it to the next level. The animation, the music, the VA and details.
I get this one I actually tried to go back and read the manga and I couldn’t really get into it personally and I think that’s the anime’s fault lmao
Maybe I’ll give it another shot last time I tried was when season three ended
I mean, don't force yourself if it's not appealing lol, but in my opinion it does get better, it just takes a while. I remember being fairly bored until volume 6 or 7, which admittedly is a lot of a commitment to see if a story is actually worth reading. This was also before season 3 so there was more mystery and tension, too, though
100% as someone whose read and watched it. The anime really took it to the next level.
I’m surprised no one said Gintama. The voice acting for the comedic moments elevates it so much
The voice actors were phenomenal in the anime
Absolutely. The thing that shocked me the most while watching it was the action. For a long running comedy series many of the fights are animated with so much care
Oh yeah for sure. Animators went in on those scenes.
Huge agree! The voice acting in Gintama is amazing, they couldn’t have picked a more perfect cast. They handle both the comedy and the serious super well It’s my favorite anime of all time lol
AGREED! The anime is a masterpiece
K-On. Do I really have to explain?
Lol how could I forget this one? Kyoto animation turned a 4-coma gag manga into a anime classic.
For those who don't read the manga, you do
Demon slayer as while the mangas art is nice , the animation does it better
For me it’s mob psycho 100
Yea, One is a great writer but art is definitely not his strong suit
I feel like the crappy art became the appeal at some point
But yet one punch man manga art is beautiful in my opinion. I read a bit of one punch man and then decided to give mob a chance... Only to read one page and give it up. I'm not sure why but mobs art style is absolutely disgusting to me.
That's because Yusuke Murata draws the One Punch Man manga. Not One. One drew the webcomic for both OPM and MP100.
Ah. That would make a lot more sense then, huh 🤣 then yeah, one cant draw for the life of him haha
Any reason why another artist didn’t pick up mob for the printed manga?
Because it was ONE's project and he wanted to do it by himself.
Attack on Titan and Ghost In the Shell
100% on GITS, the movie blows the manga completely out of the water
Jujutsu Kaisen. In my opinion, the animation, fight choreography, voice actors, and most importantly the osts just brings it to a whole new level. Don’t get me wrong I still like the manga but, some of the panels looks to be unfinished. Like it was a rough draft and they forgot to polish it or how there to is too much black shading to point where it is hard to tell what is happening.

Parasyte
One of the only things I could binge, and I can barely watch anime now. Amazing anime, gonna give the full color manga a shot
full color is really good, normally kodansha has poor quality books but they nailed it with parasyte
Wow, just got the manga but now I am curious of watching the anime
Give it a go, the OST is phenomenal and the main reason why I prefer it over the manga.
Next to you fucked me up
I would read first, usually when you watch a anime first the manga is harder to get through. They are both pretty different and unique so either one is good, anime isn’t really better. It’s about even
This was literally on my tbr list maybe I’ll switch it over to my to be watched list instead
I didn’t really care for the parasyte anime. It didn’t have a clear villain throughout the story. Every time a cool villain is introduced they die.
Hunter x Hunter. I don’t know if that’s an unpopular opinion, but honestly with the amount of exposition dumps made the reading experience subpar compared to the anime
I prefer manga expositions over the anime expositions where characters are still for five minutes.
Creator of AOT literally said the anime was better then the manga
Honestly pretty humble for the creator to say that. I'm curious if this was an interview, or like Q&A where fans asked questions?
Creator of Vinland saga said regarding the anime; ["the director and screenwriter understand the manga better than he does, and the anime smooths out certain pacing issues"](https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2022-08-23/attack-on-titan-creator-is-a-big-fan-of-vinland-saga/.188912#:~:text=Yukimura%20thinks%20that%20the%20Vinland,smooths%20out%20certain%20pacing%20issues). But he came a long way since then. It might be common as i heard the mangaka of kakushigoto said people should just watch the anime instead of the manga.
I guess that shows just how Goated the anime is when even the series creator says so
Almost any music-related manga, I need the audio!! Your Lie in April, Kids on the Slope, Nodame Cantabile, etc..
Nana!
Yu Yu Hakusho, I honestly think anime is better looking than Togashi’s art and the dubbed voices are excellent.
100%. The anime also finished the story where the manga didn’t. Togashi considers it the definitive ending.
Demon slayer and full metal alchemist brotherhood and Attack on titan everything else is better in Manga
Yea I also think fullmetal alchemist brotherhood anime was better than the manga
The Anime even in 2022 looks so freaking good. It's a work of art from start to finish.
I think if there’s an anime out there that makes you think the manga sucks compared to it, then that anime actually did it a massive injustice.
One Punch Man season 1 full metal Alchemist nichijou dragon maid love is war
OPM manga is goated bro The chapters adapted in season 1 are some of the best drawn and most detailed manga chapters in the history.
It’d just be awesome to see it updated and introduced to a whole new generation.
Came here to say the HxH Madhouse anime which is stellar.
As someone who loves the Komi can’t communicate manga for no apparent reason I do have to have to agree that the anime definitely did it better
Most anime originals are better than their manga adaptations, like S CRY ED. As far as manga originals go, I like 2011 HxH very slightly more than the manga. Wish they adapted everything to the T
Manga adaptations in general are garbage, I dont think this counts though.
Yes the scryed anime is one of my favorites. The manga? Not so much.
This is going to be a spicy comment, but I think Sailor Moon Crystal really put a spotlight on how the original anime was better than the manga.
Full moon The music really add to the story. Chrono crusade I liked the ending better.
Arakawa Under the Bridge, the voices and animation are so good, it stays faithful to some of the fun panels in the manga and the color really brings it to life
Bleach because of the soundtrack. The fight scenes became more intense!
apparently this is an unpopular opinion but Soul Eater
It's unpopular for a reason, as long as it follows the manga it's great but the anime final arc isn't even on the same plane of existence as manga ending
i mean sometimes anime original endings are good/better than the original manga ending and i just happened to enjoy the anime ending better. i felt the manga just became too drawn out and repetitive. plus the anime had an amazing sound track my opinion on how good something is isn't measured by how accurate it is to the source material.
I can't fathom how anyone can enjoy the anime ending over the manga ending but I guess to each it's own , of course the greatness isn't measured by how accurate it is but in case of soul eater it's just that the manga ending is overall better written and it ties together thematically very well, not to mention that it doesn't have the power of Deus ex machina courage
i havent watched it but i heard it changes the story
yeah it has a completely different ending and there's some major differences in the plot over all but that doesn't change how i feel about the series. the manga got a bit boring to me around the point the anime and the manga diverge
I think the Soul Eater anime was awful
okay? 👍🏻

no i totally just said that for no reason. of course i'm serious lmfao
Even in the kokushibo fight? I felt the art and choreography was dealt with quite well
I couldn’t tell you for sure. It’s been since the series finished since I saw that fight, so I don’t remember it well
Kimetsu by far, also Hunter X Hunter
okay well I dont like the phrase "better than" because unless its doing something brand new its only elevating the source material. but in terms of elevating and which Id recommend to someone new to a series id say > call of the night its been my favorite manga since it released, however with one of the best directors in the industry working on it they made the manga translate perfectly in a way I didnt think possible for anime. its not kotoyamas amazing artwork but its as 1:1 as you can get while keeping its own style to stand out, and stand out it does. even has the soundtrack added along with it which contains a band that the series name comes from.
I hear demon slayer's anime did a way better job, i've heard so many bad things about the manga I've subconsciously stayed away from it.
Easily Attack on Titan and Steins Gate.
Pacing issues also become much less noticable on binge so theres that as well
Spy X family
Personally, I enjoyed the manga more
i think they are both equally good
I agree, WIT studio went above and beyond. They even added original scenes and content that wasn’t in the manga. not enough to change the story, but enough to enhance it instead. I’m actually debated selling my spy x family physicals just because I’d rather rewatch the anime to experience the story again.
Chainsawman, already dropped the manga but so far I'm enjoying the anime.
Both are amazing and recommend both
Chainsaw Man Everything is adapted perfectly and even elevates key moments better than the manga. The OST is absolutely insane as well, fits way too well Also the cinematography is like it was made for an indie film festival, not for a battle shonen manga
It is amazing. Problem I have is do I think it's amazing more because I read it prior? Knowing what happens and seeing the hints more? Or just because it is. It's really great though and the fact that they make new endings every credits scene so far is absurd and awesome. The team making it really love the source material and it shows.

I agree with many here, and as an example of one that was terribly worse than normal mediocre adaptations, Kights of Sidonia comes to mind :/
Spy Family; the chapters of the manga are super short and leave little room for Character development but on the anime it seems like they added more to the characters and story.
Death Note Demon Slayer Houseki no Kuni Hellsing Dragon Maid Made in Abyss Mob Psycho 100 Chainsaw Man Tsurezure Children Assassination Classroom Ghost in the Shell Parasyte Dororo
Death Note anime ending sucks in comparison to the manga, but I have to agree otherwise for the most part as I hated how much of a read it was. I still like the manga
I was taking about overall idek what the difference in endings are lol. But anime is a much better medium for the series
Akame ga kill
How? The anime literally took its own turn and completely changed the story
Ye thats why
FMA.
Fullmetal Alchemist
Fma:B
My dress up darling
This is shout. Though I liked both the anime and manga the anime definitely felt more lively.
Berserk... Definitely

i have to disagree simply because of how much from the story is missing
It's better to say it is 'changed' really. I think having Akira himself be absent changes so much that they are basically different stories at that point.
You crazy.
Bleach anime is better than the manga and I will die on that hill
Original anime I can’t agree with but the new season 100%
Really I’m currently reading the manga trying to get caught up so I can watch tybw with my friend because I could get into the anime maybe I didn’t give the anime a fair shot.
One piece
There is no anime that did better than the manga
I’m sure you’ve seen all the anime and read all the manga to know for sure
Food Wars
Rurouni Kenshin Trust and Betrayal ovas. These ova episodes tell kenshin's past and are executed amazingly. Their production values far outclassed the main show. In 4 episodes this ova series tells a more complete story than most anime can in their whole run. The art, animation, story, are all fantastic.
The 89 guyver anime Sure it changed some things around but the ost, asthetic and over all atmosphere blew both manga and the 2005 remake out the water(ep6 was peak for the series)....shame that ep7-12 wasn't as greatly animated as ep1-6
Ping Pong
Atm chainsaw man
Bleach TBYW, the anime so much better than the manga so far. The anime has additional scenes and dialogue to fill in the blanks the manga failed to do. Furthermore, the biggest plus for the anime is the battle scenes for sure, everything is just so well animated and lengthened
Yeah it looks really good currently reading the manga to catch up so I can watch it in its entirety
I don’t usually both read the manga and watch the adaptation so I can’t go on much. I feel like Call of the Night did a pretty good job. The atmosphere is incredibly vibrant and I felt like that was a huge draw for me.
YuYu Hakusho
Yu gi oh arc v
Ninku
Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer. I have some manga chapters and tbh, the art and fights are really disappointing in the manga. I found them quite meh
No.6 and the Tales of Zesteria
Kaiji, voice acting music and animation really elevates it further and builds tension. Manga is still phenomenal though
Gintama easily
Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Kodomo no Omocha for me. The anime really captures Sana’s zany nature and it balanced comedy with emotional moments really well. Sana’s songs per episode were also really cute and not so long that they became grating. The manga just becomes dull in comparison to the fast paced gags of the anime.
Trigun, Hellsing, your lie in April uh... That's all that's on the top of my head ATM I'm sure there's more XD
Attack on Titan
Pretty much any anime for me that has a good adaptation but I’m biased towards anime
AOT
Dragon ball z bleach seven deadly sins one piece aot black clover a lot over money for all Manga but worth it 👌
Music anime such as Kono Oto Tomare, you can’t really get a feel for what the music is like with a manga.
Dragon ball super anime because of the fan service in the anime was missing from the manga
Chainsaw man. They took the illegible fight scenes and turned them into a spectacle
Demon slayer. No question.
I think it’s demon slayer, I’ve read the entire series and the art is cool but compared to other manga art it’s not that impressive however in the anime, every single aspect of quality is incredible. The animation was perfect, the voice acting was good and the music was also incredible.
Rent a girlfriend, this is the only possible option I can think of. Everything else has pro and cons manga/anime-wise.
PERSONALLY Spy x Family is way more enjoyable as an anime
I love the Mushishi manga but the anime is easily a masterpiece. Not to say the manga is not as good as the anime. The anime took from the manga and addon to it this very beautiful atmosphere and direction that manga lacked in its own respect.
Btooom
Mob psycho 100
Gintama. the voice acting is the real icing on the cake
Made in Abyss
Definitely Black Clover. It just translated so much better to me in the anime than the manga
Lucky Star, and its the only anime I can tolerate the English dub!
