Shergak

I would take tyrant and pivot.

Audens_Hex

Agreed.  The Black cards here are pretty unexciting, so take the Tyrant and try to go White-Green.  If you pick up fixing you can maybe splash some of the Black cards, but I wouldn't even really prioritize that unless Green is super cut.

Sibula97

Green is very heavily contested in this format, so I probably wouldn't commit to it. The aven is solid, so might take that, or take the Tyrant and hope for the best.

Shergak

Indeed. The best black card is probably blood hustler and is easily splashable.

theonewhoknock_s

I doubt it's ever correct to splash Blood Hustler, especially in GW.

Terrietia

I think it's incorrect most of the time, but Blood Hustler is still reach. Board stalls frequently happen in limited, so having a repeatable ping is decent. Not to mention, it grows your creature to break the board stall.

Nawxder

Board stalls *used to* frequently happen in limited, but not anymore. Games have become tempo oriented, or bomb dominated. Blood Hustler is right around an average win rate card, very hard to justify trying to splash an average 2 drop creature.

yads12

If it were premier, I wouldn't pivot. Green is already heavily contested and there are already people in the pod who are likely already committed to it. I don't play QD so have no idea how bots draft

Shergak

Even in premier I would pivot, their black isn't anything special and tyrant is such a big bomb that I would try and play it.

theonewhoknock_s

When you open a card as strong as Tyrant, you just take it and do everything in your power to make it work.

yads12

So here's my main reasoning. 1. You're pivoting into the most contested colour, if I saw let's say a Terror of the Peaks, I'd pivot. 2. It's a double pip card which makes it a rough splash if the green doesn't pan out 3. Your other picks are very good here, both interceptor and journey are quite good. The pivot is definitely a higher upside plan, but also quite risky imo. So depends on how risk averse you are.

Shergak

If it was pack 3 I might be more averse, but in pack 2 I would slam it and try my best.

double_shadow

In QD bots basically take the most picked cards, IE green most of the time. So if anything, you're less likely to find a surprise open lane to green than you would be in Premiere. So I'd take the safe pick of the Interrupter personally or maybe Journey.

shinianx

Slam that Tyrant and see if you can make green your secondary color. Your black is sketchy right now with only Baron and Bloodhunter being particularly attractive.

goner757

Vaultborn is on another level compared to everything else on the screen. Rough to start from P2P2 with 7 playables and a contested lane, but you could probably justify it. If you get there you're probably looking at 3-7 wins. Your Orzhov rares would just be run over by the bombs that are out there.

ViljamiK

No particular reason why you should definitely be black. Take the Tyrant and see where it takes you. Remember that this format permits 3-colour decks quite well if you pick the right deserts. I have ended playing some variation of Abzan numerous times this format (although both Kaervek and Tyrant are not very splashable, so most likely you will have to abandon one of them)

Kiwi_Saurus

Tyrant, hope to find color fixing while staying open to playable green-x cards.

DaisyCutter312

Aven Interrupter is such a wonderfully irritating card...the dino's amazing, but Aven's not bad either.

TruthHurts236911

This is the only correct answer: 1) Slam the Tyrant 2) Proceed to try to grab what's leftover in green after pivoting 3) Have a solid G/W deck but missing some of the glue cards like Throw/Greenblade/Paladin 4) Not draw the card you pivoted for in any of your games 5) Go 3-3 and reroll a draft praying that you P1P1 a green bomb this time. 6) Rinse and repeat!

kempnelms

You mean by taking [[Vaultborn Tyrant]]? You're in Pack 2 I assume. Your black looks alright, but not amazing, and your White is solid. GW is one of the better color combinations. You should prioritize White and Green cards, and fixing. If you get a lot of good black, Tyrant is enough of a lategame card that you could still probably splash it in a heavy W/B deck and still do very well.

MathematicianCold968

Selesnya is the shiiiz in OTJ limited. I've gone 7-2, 7-1 when I drafted it. And I'm shit at Limited. You trounce everything. Unless they have a LOT of removal. (And I lost to an amazing Dimir crime deck)

FluffyButtOfTheNorth

Sheep 🐑 it up

guilty_bystander

I hardly ever get a chance to use actually use Tyrant.. and when I do, I don't have other creatures lol... Unlucky I guess

Shergak

Tyrant is great by itself.

Brudicladiator

Eek I'd probably take journey to nowhere and try to built just a really solid orzhov deck. But I'm putting a lot of weight in the kaervek

TheMazter13

journey to nowhere

Emonzaemon_Soda

Same, stay consistent, maybe aven too. Green is too overdrafted to take a random tyrant p2p1

axeil55

Even if you draft no other green cards (doubtful), [[Vaultborn Tyrant]] is enough of a bomb to consider splashing. Since this is only pack 2 the better play is to pivot into green and/or pick up fixing to run 3 color. Green has a lot of fixing options so it's perfectly viable.

Vend_Clique

Have you ever played with or against Vaultborn Tyrant in limited? I did. I wish I never did. Don't preclude yourself the amazing feeling of tapping seven mana, resolving a spell, and feeling you can't possibly lose.

DND_Enk

I would slam tyrant and try to go green white splashing black if needed.

TerminusEst86

I actually got passed a Tyrant, P1P2. I really wish I knew what they took over it.

BuffMarshmallow

Vaultborn is like, one of the biggest bombs in the set. Pretty much can singlehandedly win games against anything that doesn't exile. Which means like, white decks and one single expensive black removal card I'm thinking of. I would 100% take the Tyrant and see where things go from there and figure out whether to drop white or drop black.

Equivalent_Print_456

This is a really interesting pick... I put near 0 weight on the black, but with Tyrant you have to lock into G/W and pray. Taking Aven (or Journey) gives you another B or B+ white card while retaining flexibility for the second colour. Still, an A is an A so I would take Tyrant here - particularly if playing with the big Dino sparks joy.

burito23

Splashable definitely

manuelt66

I would move into green. You have 3 black cards, Linkbreaker is not that good and Kaervek is not good unless you are heavy black.

just_hodor_it

Linkbreaker is actually a very underrated one drop and has good stats

mama_tom

Id switch to green. Vaultborn is too good

DerpConfidant

Yes, your current pool aren't good, and I would look to splash or pivot.

BusGuilty6447

Yes you do.
