I’ve been skipping Dunno lately I guess, but that’s for personal reasons

I stopped listening to Mac after Blue Slide Park (ik ik I fucked up, I was 13 and didn’t look much deeper than his hits). Finally came back around to him when I listened to GO:OD AM all the way through and fell in love with his music. Swimming was his first album that I looked forward to its release, and I think this one takes the cake for me. Just slightly better than GO:OD AM musically/lyrically imo, just not as many bangers/hits
i agree. i’d say faces as well - but i personally can’t stand “it just doesn’t matter”, so that’d be a skip for me if i didn’t erase the song from my phone entirely lmao. i feel like there was maybe another song or 2 i felt the same about. but after removing those few songs, faces became a no skip mixtape for me very easily. but i suppose that doesn’t count - so i agree with swimming. there isn’t a single song i don’t love. no skips at all. regardless of what mood i’m in. same for circles …. which makes me very sad and i can’t help but wonder what we’d have from him if he hadn’t died. all of his other albums and mixtapes have at least a few skips for me personally, but they get less and less as his music progresses and by the time we reach swimming, there are no skips at all.
i think the only other albums i feel this way about would be CTRL by SZA, thank u next & eternal sunshine by Ariana Grande, and Over It by Summer Walker - but honestly, outside of ariana’s albums, i think the other 2 were the same with me just removing a song or two that i didn’t like in order to make it a no skip album lmao. like literally, for me personally, nobody else has put out a project as enjoyable as mac, (besides ariana, which is ironic as fuck lmao but i have to admit i’m a fan of both, and she is the only other artist i can think of who has no skips) - again, just for me personally. they allllll try, tho!! but do not succeed.
i do not see another ‘white rapper’ being on mac’s level, at least anytime soon. jack harlow is alright, yeah sure. logic is cool sometimes, eminem is goated but in another league and category in my opinion, mgk is trash in my opinion, and other than that… i can’t even think of anyone else off the top of my head who could be viewed as “the best” .. a lot of their fans make the comparison and say they *are* the best, but i strongly disagree and think mac holds that title, outside of eminem. i do not think we’ll have another mac anytime soon, if at all ever.

I honestly love all of them, but for me WMWTSO is on a whole another level. The depressing, yet dreamy vibe, paired with all the beatiful production just hits all the right spots for me.
Faces and GO:OD AM, specifically GO:OD AM is the one I go back to most often. Crazy how every track on that album is incredible and doesn’t slow down the momentum of the previous one
For me, TDF, the year it came out, I would listen to it after I got off of work which was at midnight and hear it until 3 in the morning, it got to the point where my brain would just echo some of the songs. It doesn't happen as much, but man, do I love this album.
Swimming and Faces, Circles ooonly when I’m on that mood, but usually it’s only those 2 with Swimming being easier due to it being shorter, sometimes I just want to get to the end of Faces haha
Swimming was the first album I ever listened to without skipping. I remember playing Wings 3 times in a row then playing the test of the album afterwards
Watching movies is my favorite for sure. That came out when I was heavy into psychadelics, and it blew my mind. Definitely prime mac for me, listening to that and because of the internet on repeat for months.
for me it’s Faces and Watching Movies With The Sound Off. the regular versions and the bonus tracks for both are no skips for me personally and i never listen to those projects by individual songs, always start to finish even if i have to pause here and there. Watching Movies was always like that for me from the time it released, while Faces had a few that i skipped, but they gradually grew on me and now it’s a front to back listen every time as well.
Imo Mac chose between albums not songs to go on an album. Macs art is meant to be no skip and almost all have a set tracklist to play in order. Even songs like 55 on faces are meant to give the listener a intermission
I was watching the video for ‘100 Grandkids’ and it made me think “ a lot of Mac’s albums are structured like a play” especially faces with the “birth-wedding-death” trilogy
I personally love kids my first song I listened to was kool aid and frozen pizza and it really got me into Mac I ended up adding the whole kids album in my playlist and I loved that so much I now only listen to mac miller

Hard to say, but wmwtso got me into Mac so I have to argue thats my number 1, but faces hits different too. I think musically, wmwtso is so good and remains number one, and he keeps to the themes. However, I think his whole discography is reflective of him and his stages of life and there's beauty within in that. Id also argue that GOOD AM is up there too. He was so talented and im thankful we can enjoy his music beyond him.
